The Inn is small and cosy and has been extended in an excellent manner. It has modern facilities in the rooms and its conversion from a pub built in the 1790's in a conservation area by the Cromford Canal into a modern facility has been achieved in sympathy with its surroundings. The car parking is good and convenient. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Cleanliness etc was all first rate.

I didn't quite understand how the heating/ air con temperature worked but the room was warm enough and I slept well.

I would highly recommend this place to stay, and I will 110% be staying again!! Cleanliness of the room, SPOTLESS! You would think it had just been renovated! Considering it's a pub below, you wouldn't know. Comfortable, big bed. No shops nearby, but it didn't bother me as I had been walking all day, but had a car, so it wouldn't have been a problem to pop out if needed.

Just an observation - when the side entrance was used, it shut with a bang, and you heard and felt it slightly, I was on the first floor. This doesn't put me off in the slightest to return!

We stayed at The Canal Inn for two nights in between Christmas and New Year to attend a family wedding. The staff at the Inn were superb, so welcoming and approachable. It felt as if everyone was interested in what we were doing and eager to help out and to make you feel welcome. The food at breakfast and evening dinner was super and reasonably priced. All in all our stay at The canal Inn added a great deal to a very enjoyable family event.

It was all superb. We'd happily stay there again.

We had air conditioning in the room, the bed was so comfortable, it was clean and fresh throughout. Cleaners really do a great job. We booked the standard room and for the two of us we had plenty of space for a nights stay. Supplied with dressing gowns, slippers and a hairdryer 👌, they all came handy after a heavy day/night at a wedding close by.

I would say more sugars and milks to be left in the rooms for guests as those small sachets are only half a teaspoon and with me having 2 sugars and hubby having 3, and we love our tea's and coffee's, i was always popping around looking for staff so we could have more. As staff aren't there over night we had to go without when we got back late on.

Spotlessly clean, good-sized room and ensuite. Very comfortable bed and strong wifi. Smooth check-in and check-out with pleasant staff members. After a day visiting local areas it was great to be able to unwind with a couple of drinks in front of the pub fire, then just climb up to our very quiet room on the top floor. Lots of parking space.

The room was spotless. The facilities were brand new and so lovely. The air conditioning and heating was excellent which made for a really comfortable night, along with a very comfortable bed. I had a brilliant night's sleep. Also the restaurant were incredibly accommodating for me being gluten free. The breakfast was also delicious. The staff were so friendly and I was made to feel safe and welcome as a solo female traveller. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The room was really lovely. Clean tastefully decorated Staff friendly. Meals wonderful. The bed and pillows were something else they just cuddled you and we had such a good sleep. Thankyou

The only one very very tiny thing I would say is that the toilet paper didn’t match the quality of the rest of the property 🤣🤣. I know silly comment but everything else was so plush

Lovely pub in a grade II listed building with excellent bedroom accommodation. Weds/Thurs is pizza and a pint night so very busy consequently our check in was "here are your keys" leaving us to wander around to find our room ourselves. There is no breakfast except for Saturday and Sunday mornings.......no matter what the website says. Staff were polite and courteous, room was immaculate and the overnight accommodation has obviously been refurbed recently. As of Jan 2023 a building site is accessed through the pub car park do quite a bit of mud on the ground.

Check in was a little sketchy.

The property was super clean, some lovely staff, the room was lovely. They even had hot chocolate for free!!! The bed was super comfortable and the shower was lovely and warm. The room warmed up well and could set the temperature to the right temperature for you! There is no curfew and a side door which is helpful. The carpark was good size and free.

no hairdryer (that we could see but that is a luxury) had to duck to get in the room (once inside no issue but a tipsy trip to get in) it isn’t really an issue just a reminder for tall people!

The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with restful colours it had everything you need, The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in, the sheets were of the highest quality the bathroom was modern and immaculate, with a lovely selection of coffees, teas, hot chocolate and biscuits, staff were very friendly, I would recommend this place

A little noise from the road outside our window but wasn’t all the time, breakfast was ok but stone cold beans one morning and no toast the next, it was also really cold in the room where you ate breakfast, so maybe a fire on the colder mornings would be nice
