The view is absolutely stunning, it is a perfect place for a weekend getaway. Super cute to just be in a little hotel and be able to walk right down in the laguna. I can really recommend it. And the staff was super nice.

If I have to mention one thing, I think it's a little shame that the included breakfast is a very simple (but well enough breakfast, nothing is wrong with it) and then they have an a la carte breakfast menu where you had to pay for it. I think they will score a loooooot of bonus points if they change that. So every morning the included breakfast you can choose coffee or tea, juice or fruit and one a la carte breakfast. They won't lose any money on it. And they'd get soooo many plus points for that. Plus if guests want one glass of juice more it is okay, they don't have to pay for it. I think flexibility is what give a business the last extra details that matter a looooot.

Great comfortable beds, good AC, clean rooms A lovely spot on the lake where you can watch the sunrise and pass the time swimming in the lagoon, sitting on the beach chairs, swinging in the hammocks. A simple yummy breakfast of eggs, fruit and coffee. The staff were friendly

Only one 500ml bottle of water per person per day - given the cost of the rooms and unsafe tap water some more water could be provided! This is not enough at all

This property is gorgeous and has the best hospitality and kindest staff. Aside from the breathtaking view of the lake, the rooms, grounds, and common areas are very well decorated. Bed and pillows are very comfy, and all linen was fresh and clean. The shower was warm and the water pressure was perfect. Breakfast is included and enjoyed in Raiz, the hotel’s restaurant. Unlike other free hotel breakfasts, their’s is made to order and absolutely delicious and filling. However, not to be missed is their a la carte menu, we tried their guac, chilaquiles, chicken sandwich and french toast - all made skillfully from scratch with the freshest high quality ingredients - Chef Pablo is absolutely amazing! Unexpectedly, I had the best cinnamon roll of my life in this hotel restaurant, I loved it so much that I brought a few back to Canada. Craft cocktails made by Carlos at the bar should not be missed either. Incidentally, when our rental car didn’t start one day, Carlos went out of his way to find jumper cables and moved his car to assist us, saving us time and money. Our server Ruby, had the most welcoming smile and gave the best service without fail every single day. Charlie the security guard was also a delight to be around at night, we felt very safe. Karen in front desk and all the housekeeping staff were all excellent.

The room didn’t have a fridge, it would have been nice to have some cold water on hand.

Waking up pretty much inside the lagoon was perfect. Having relaxing breakfasts there while looking into paradise.

The included breakfast was a bit poor. I informed beforehand I was vegan and they said I didn’t have to worry about it. In the end there was no note about it for our room and I had to remind them everyday about it. One day I explained and asked not to be served eggs, but bacon was still on the plate. The other day the lady didn’t want to make me the plate with just bread and beans because it should come with eggs and bacon. The only other option was a (very small) plate of fruits. There are itens on the menu you can pay extra, which I felt wasn’t very honest with the guests if you say breakfast is included. They should be a bit more accommodating and think about dietary restrictions- either for choice and health.

Located on the beautiful part of laguna with great beach access. Even though they do not have a private parking there is a lot of space to park your car on the street. Extremely clean, the room is cleaned daily (including shower). Great water pressure in the shower. Good breakfast. Helpful staff of front desk.

No sun umbrellas so beach chairs are unusable unless you want to burn your skin. Kayaks would be great since other properties around them have them. No place to dry towels.

The view of the lagoon is beautiful and the rooms are clean, spacious with great showers. The breakfasts are really nice although you have to pay extra for things like french toast, breakfast sandwiches and avocado toast. Staff are welcoming and friendly, especially the cute dog!

It is a little bit of walk into town down mostly unlit roads without pavements so I would recommend getting taxis in and out. It would be great if the hotel had their own kayaks to rent for sunset as you can’t watch it from the hotel’s access. Other than that - nothing, we had a lovely time.

What an amazing hotel!!! Right on the water with its own private dock. The rooms are fantastic!!! Large, modern with great beds and linen. Everything is super clean and well maintained. The staff is really awesome as well. Carlos helped us with a tour. He speaks great English and is so polite and professional. The on site restaurant is really, really good. The modern and gourmet kitchen is a huge step up if what you normally see in Mexico. The food is exceptional and Ruby (our server) always has a smile. The service from all the staff is just top notch. Do yourself a favor, stay a few nights, you will thank me later

Great room with amazing lagoon view, clean and nice staff. To get to the city center it requires to get a taxi, but its not that bad as its cheap and not longer than 10 min to get there. The hotel has its private lagoon entrance so its worth its far location from the center. The hotel offers boats tours reservations.

Doesnt offer kayaks/sap. Nice breakfast but not varient enough. Need to pay extra if you want add-ons.

We chose this place to spend New Year's and we weren't disappointed. The rooms were very nice (especially when you have beach view), the staff super friendly and the on-site restaurant was great. Also, the location at the bay was perfect for relaxing, swimming or taking a boat tour right from your hotel (like we did). There was a tiny shop next door, another good restaurant across the street and the pretty town of Bacalar is just a few minutes away. We would definitely come again.

Two small details: The TVs had no TV reception, just Netflix, which was a bit inconvenient for some of our party. Also, a mini-fridge for drinks in the room would have been great.

The hotel is very good. Very clean and convenient. Near the city so you can go in by car or foot. The view is incredible. You can chill by the lake on the sunbeds, it's very calm and relaxing. Everyone on the comments say the breakfast is small but it is not, you just have to choose between courses but it's very large and more than enough. If you want extras, they are very affordable and delicious. The staff is very friendly and smiling which is very nice. Just be sure to book the lake view room, if not, the view and I think the experience is not that good. I took a look at the other hotels around and I think Aldea is the best run for your money.
