I have to say that my stay exceeded expectations (I never try to expect anything, so I won’t be disappointed …but this was truly amazing!). From the location, the rooms, the building, the activities and the lovely staff. I really wanted to stay longer and so did all the people I met in the hostel. I stayed in the dorm with 12 beds and there was also a small chilling area with sofa’s in the room! Which I Ioved - the other rooms don’t have this feature. The bed was comfy. The two big windows made it possible to get fresh air and had a really nice view over the city. Really one of the best hostels I stayed in.. definitely in my personal top 3. Would recommend to anybody even if it’s only for one day (but you’ll regret that you only booked a single night).

There is really noting that I didn’t like. The only thing that would make the experience even better would be if there were some more hooks or shelfs near the bathrooms so you can put your glasses and necessities for example.

Centrally located in the Sao Bento train station and the centre of Porto. Easy to find. Absolutely fantastic staff who are ready to help with any inquiry. Great food recommendations. Beds were incredibly comfortable. Showers are great.

A bit noisy with the Rosa Linha metro construction, but that didn’t interfere with sleep or comfort since we were out while the workers were busy.

The staff is very friendly and helpful and they organize cool events! The location is perfect for exploring the city. I also liked the curtains they have for each bed what gives some privacy.

There were no hooks to hang your towels in the room nor in the toilet area - quite annoying. The coffee from the machine e was really bad but it was for free so ok ;)

What a pleasure it was to stay right inside the gorgeous Sao Bento station! Makes arrival and departure so easy. The high ceiling is unbeatable. Unlike ANY hostel in the world!

Stunning hostel - the most beautiful one I’ve stayed at for an excellent price. Dorm rooms are spacious with curtains and own space, also had a kitchen facility and beautiful common spaces. The location was perfection, right in the centre next to everything, also conveniently in the train station, although the train noise never bothered me. Also staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, social environment with day/night activities available to join.

Currently there’s construction going on outside the train station which woke me up every morning around 6am 7am and 8am, very very loud drilling, also in afternoon. Once construction is dont it’ll be the best hostel ever, but until then bring your earplugs and noise cancelling headphones

You get a great bed with privacy curtain, power outlet, nice linens, locker, spacious dorm with lounge area, multiple common areas, spotless bathrooms, elevator, daily organized activities and tours, a lobby bar/cafe, use of a computer, piano or guitar if you’re so inclined, and an excellent breakfast. There’s a coin operated Miele laundry and I washed everything, including my backpack. It’s not as cheap as the best hostels in Asia but what is?

Only that I couldn’t stay longer.

Second time I stayed at "The Passenger", and for a second time I loved every minute of it! I remember being sceptical the first time when I saw that it's located IN a train station, however, that was no issue at all, I felt safe and comfortable at all times and the trains did not bother me at any time. The hostel is located perfectly right in the centre of the city which makes it the perfect stay to start your exploration of Porto. But what makes The Passenger even greater for me is that the hostel is offering a ton of fun social activities. For instance, during my stay I participated in a local bar tour, karaoke, game nights and a Portuguese dance! I met new friends from all around the globe and had an amazing week!

Not a lot to improve. I feel like the bathrooms could get a better cleaning; like it's not bad or anything, but it could be better. Also, you should not be afraid of heights as some of the bunk beds are above two others.

The location is unbeatable. It's inside the same bento station and everything is super walkable. Breakfast spread was delicious and waay better than most hostels. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious. Even the dorm with 12 beds never felt cramped because of the tall walls and windows and whole sofa set inside the dorm room. The best hostel I have stayed on my portugal trip

Not a con, but the timed turn off of the water in the shower can a bit annoying. I do understand it's to conserve water waste . The good thing about that is people aren't taking long showers and blocking the stalls :)

Perfect location, beautiful rooms, well equipped bathrooms and toilets, nice little breakfast, great to jumpstart the day, great coffee machine that serves hot chocolate too. Very attentive and pleasant staff. Amazing mattresses, very comfortable. Nice pillows and blankets too.

I think the third floor could use a small workout area, there is space for that. On weekends, the street under the hostel works as a walking area for drunk people, but they will be gone once the metro is built and the street is open again, it seems. Otherwise didn't really have anything that I disliked, really, an amazing hostel and I would really consider going there second time, maybe even try catching one of the rooms they have

Breakfast was sufficient but nothing to write home about. The location was fantastic, but for significant construction works going on around the property for a new metro station. The social vibes of the hostel were immaculate and the staff and volunteer staff were very friendly. The organised social events and use of social / common areas resulted in good opportunities for socialising for a solo traveler. I like the Dyson hand dryers and hair dryers. Small wins.

The construction works were inconvenient but not much the hostel can do about that. Some more serious complaints were the lack of advertised high-speed internet. The hostel alleges that the construction works hit a fibre cable and internet is down for the whole block, but they should endeavour to find a more permanent solution for all of their guests. Many guests rely on wifi to assist them whisky traveling, or for work, and the slow emergency staff wifi (provided only on request) was not an acceptable solution. Many of the men’s shower facilities were out of order during the stay. That being said, I never had to wait to use a shower, but it isn’t a good look.
