First of all, the location is very exclusive, and the view is stunning. You could spend your vacation there at any time of the year and you would always be guaranteed a very nice atmosphere since the room is basically absorbed by the stunning view with this bigterrace. So even in winter a must go. Also, it is very clean and very comfortable. Lastly, the owners Ray and his wife are just super friendly and very supportive hosts. I really enjoyed the restaurant recommendations and the overall atmosphere in their beautiful home. They have a deal with a restaurant at the beach which you can go to by foot and 10-15 minutes which is a very nice routine in the morning. They recommend to have a car which I had not and I didn’t regret that. It’s like an extra fun activity to go down the stairs with your swimming shorts. Have a good swim in the morning and then have breakfast for example, waffles or fish while listening to the sound of the waves and later go back up to your apartment.
Literally every detail I liked

1 Mountain Road has some of the best views from the peninsula, overlooking Fish Hoek, False Bay and the beach. Ray and Sanchia are excellent hosts, and even messaged me with some area updates that were happening. I stayed in Room 2, but they all have similar amazing views, and I assume similar facilities. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had good water pressure, and there is loads of cupboard space, including a digital safe. The fridge/mini-bar is a nice touch. It came well-stocked and was very reasonably priced. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the setting during my stay. Two options for breakfast were included - a continental breakfast served at the B&B with advance notice, and a daily voucher for a group of restaurants down the road by the beach. Also great is that there is an access path to Elsie's Peak very close by, which I hiked up in about 25 minutes to watch an awesome sunrise from. The path is very rocky and steep, but also very worth it!
There was nothing I disliked about my stay. Everything was well in order. One thing to note, which the B&B does list in its description, is to be prepared to walk down a flight of +-25 steps with your bags (and back up when you check out). This was no issue as I was made well-aware in advance.

The view is absolutely stunning, and from room 2 you have the sunrise visible from your bed! The terrace allows great evening relax time with the sound of the waves. The rooms are tidy, very clean and there is everything you need and more. The cleaning service is 5 star as well. Parking is on the street with plenty of space. I strongly recommend this solution when you are in the area.
There are 25 steps (it is mentioned in the description) which you have to carry your bags, but it's worth the effort. You need a vehicle as well, as walking from Fish Hoek is a challenge for the strong at heart. Breakfast is not included, but in front of the Calders hotel there is a little caffe which serves the best pastries!!

Not only are the views breathtaking, the hosts also thought of every little detail, making us feel welcome and ensuring that we were comfortable. It felt like home away from home with a comfy bed, king size pillows, electric blankets, a full hairdryer, gowns and slippers, and so much more. They made myself and my family feel welcome, making me a cappuccino while I was working late at night. When my son left his old boys school tie in the cupboard, Ray came looking for us after check-out to give it back to him. Special people and a hidden gem, I would highly recommend staying at 1 Mountain View.
Can't fault anything.

Stunning location with an amazing view over a beautiful bay. Check in and hosting was very friendly, struck the right balance between being attentive but not overly so to allow space and relaxation. The property is also protected from the regular load shedding (power cuts) that South Africa is subject to, which is a bonus not always found in more expensive places. Also, spotlessly clean, which is repeated daily by the excellent housekeeping staff.
Only tiny negative is that it is up quite a steep hill, but then you wouldn't have the view, so swings and roundabouts.

Very nice view and location. Everything was there what was needed, we had a nice stay. Very friendly and helpful hosts.
We were a bit late that day and knew it was close to make the check-in deadline on 7pm. We contacted the hosts 24hrs upfront but unfortunately there was no flexibility at all for a late checkin and the hosts live in the same building. All in all it worked out but a bit more of flexibility would have been nice.

The room itself was in pristine condition with the most spectacular sea view, nice size, large and comfortable, BIGGER than most The shower was a very generous size with a seat which was an added bonus Very strong Wi-Fi signal The room was clean, the bathroom spotless, the dark towel for the makeup was really well thought-out Great hair dryer provided of high-quality with a good heat and a 4-speed Ample space to work on the dressing-table which was very large and comfortable, well-thought-out with a lovely tea and coffee station and a complimentary stillwater, which went down well on arrival There is a balcony with very comfortable chairs to take in the view and have a great cup of coffee or a glass of wine from the honesty bar There is a mini fridge as well as plates and cutlery for takeaway dinners Everything you need is in the room The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and I would recommend a stay with Ray and Sanchia for your travels FISH Hoek swimming beach right in front, by car, for safe swimming,, or walking, with 2 restaurants, as well as an abundance of restaurants, shops, lots of takeaways and deliveries to the door A host of activities to do around this area I would highly recommend this boutique bed and breakfast, will be pleasantly surprised and it will go beyond your expectations
Nothing!

The views from our room were amazing! The room was well equipped with lots of welcome little extras. The property was super clean and the hosts were welcoming and informative.
Although we appreciated the property was on a mountainside and benefitted from incredible views we did not understand how difficult it would be to walk up the steep hill from the beach. It would be the perfect property if we had a car. We did use UBER but they were not always available for such short (but very steep) trips.

Ray and his wife were very hospitable and we're excellent hosts, definitely recommend staying here. The room is spacious with excellent views. Heated blankets were a huge hit with us. The area itself is very relaxed and the restaurant where you have your breakfast is great and located on the beach.
You would need a car as the bnb is located on the top of a small hill which is a difficult walk up and down.

I booked the stay for my mother Elke and this is what she said: I stayed 16 nights at this wonderful and outstanding B & B. Sanchia & Ray are the most kind and welcoming hosts you could ever imagine. The communication was excellent and i could really make myself home for the time of my stay. The room had an incredible view over the False Bay and really gave me the maximum holiday feeling! The facilities and my room were cleaned every day and if i could, i would rate an extra star for the cleanliness!
Everything was absolutely perfect!
