The property is perfectly placed to access anywhere on the island. We hired a quad bike, which meant we could see every part of the island. The property is spotlessly clean, the beds are comfortable and the lovely owners could not have been nicer. Nothing is too much trouble. The pool area is great, very clean and the jacuzzi is an added bonus. The rooms are cleaned daily. There’s no rush to leave the room each morning for the cleaner. She watches for you to go out and then nips in. This doesn’t sound like much, but it was nice to relax and not feel in anyway rushed. We have stayed in Santorini numerous times, but this was the first time at Abelonas. We will definitely stay here again on future visits. Thank you Abelonas village. We loved staying with you.

There was nothing to dislike. We had a lovely relaxing week, in a lovely place, and felt truly welcome.

Location was amazing and close to everything, the pool was soo good we swam in it everyday. Room was soo comfortable my husband and I got the top floor and the view was amazing. The villa cats were a bonus! The staff were soooo nice to us from day one right to the very end including cleaner. They helped us booked our activities including volcano trip, horse riding and quad bikes all through people they trusted and even recommended nearby stores for us to visit. One time my husband and I didn’t come home as we were out all night and I received a message from them to check to see if we were ok! They really care for their visitors :)

Not much kitchen facilities like spoon and fork and microwave and would be nice if there was a washing machine

This is a wonderful family-run hotel near the traditional village of Megalachori. They have a lovely pool and rooms both on the ground floor and a two-story building. They offer some basics for an add on breakfast and have a bar also which is nice as it's not easy to walk to restaurants or shops. They were very helpful with information on where to go and what to do. There is a spectacular restaurant up the street overlooking the Heart of Santorini that has Michelin quality food and an incredible view (Athemia). There is a bus stop right on the main road. If you rent a car they have plenty of parking.

The main road was very dangerous with no sidewalk and lots of tourist traffic. I think they might do well to offer a full breakfast to make it a 'bed and breakfast', so that guests don't have to venture out on the road too many times a day.

Fantastic accommodation, almost in the center of the island. We walked from the accommodation location to Oia passing through Pyrgos and the location makes it strategic. But the strong point is definitely the friendliness, kindness and services offered. They will know how to make you feel at home. The swimming pool is a plus and there is the possibility of booking tours (also boat tour) and transports directly from the structure and starting right from it. Excellent room and perfect cleaning. Thank you very much and we hope to see you again soon!

Nothing to report.

Wherever I travel, I only really use the accommodation as a base and never have a lot of interaction with the hosts. It never gets any less daunting as a solo traveller, but when greeted by Martina on my arrival (after the flight was delayed), I immediately felt like part of the family. Such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and nothing at all was too much trouble when I approached them. I hired a quad for most of the time I was there. The company they used were also very efficient, allowing me to extend my rental at the very last moment without any qualms. I booked on to the Volcano/Hot Springs excursion. Perfectly organised. Rubbish/sanitary bins were cleaned out daily. Can't recall how often the linen/towels were changed because each day I used the towels, they would still smell like they were freshly laundered. As for the pool and other on-site facilities, I can not comment about these as I did not use them. The local buses stopped almost outside the road to the hotel, and on arriving at the hotel, I was given a timetable for the buses and their destinations. Again, although I didn't use this service, the information would be invaluable if your only mode of transport was local transport. The location was perfect if you prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Towns/Captial of the Island, yet still had amenities/restaurants within walking distance. Should I return to Santorini, there is no doubt that I would return to Abelonas Village. Ohhh, and almost forgot - a snazzy baseball cap as a parting gift! 🥰

For me it is not a negative, however, I can see that some visitors would find the walk to/from the main Megalochori village a little challenging as you have to walk along the main road approximately 400meters and the traffic is usually heavy/fast moving as it's the main route to the South of the island.

Our stay at the hotel was great. The hotel is beautiful, with all the plants surrounding the pool which was a godsent for the continues Santorini heat. The staff were always welcoming a friendly, very accommodating and even kept our bags on the last day, allowing us to chill pool side all day before our evening flight. We even got given a spare key so we could visit the village for lunch while the checkout desk was closed. Loved the kittens as well. Location was perfect for what we wanted. Megalochori is a lovely small village with some great restaurants which gave us plenty of verity to try out over are visits, and is a lot cheaper than Fira and Oia. It's also way more convenient than both if you wish to visit the black sand or red beaches. If you do arrive after the checkout closes like we did, and need to pay for the taxi this is a good deal. The €40 is pretty much a standard price as taxis on the island are very expensive

Not really a fault with the hotel but to get out to the main village / bus stops always required us to walk up and along the main round outside which doesn't really have a footpath, which made it feel quite dangerous with all the summer traffic.

My husband and I recently stayed at Abelonas Village, a charming family-run hotel in Megalochori, and I can't say enough good things about my experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm and attentive service. The staff was always available to answer our questions and provide assistance. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained and exceptionally clean. Our room, located on the second floor, offered a fantastic view and featured a small balcony that was very pleasant to relax on. The bed was comfortable, and the room was well-equipped and spotless. The shower had excellent water pressure and always provided hot water. Additionally, the hotel offers a lovely jacuzzi and pool, both of which are very clean and well-maintained. For those renting a car, the hotel provides parking, and for those using public transportation, there are two bus stops just a few meters away. It's also just a short 10-minute walk to the center of Megalochori. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santorini!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the villa hotel. The serene atmosphere and breathtaking views were truly remarkable. The calm and quiet environment made it the perfect place to unwind and relax. Additionally, the attentive staff and beautifully maintained facilities added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this villa for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy.

While the location of the villa hotel is quite far from the big city, we appreciated that the hostess promptly arranged a rental car service for us. The rental was very affordable, which made our stay much more convenient. :)

The staff were so amazingly friendly! They gave you all the options and even printed out a bus timetable for us. Writing down key information. I am not one to usually leave a review… but wow! This is such a great place to stay! We hired a 4 wheeler by asking reception. It was so easy! They met us at the accomodation and picked it up from there. So helpful and kind! Could easily spend your days at the resort next to the pool! Was a great mid way point. Went to black beach, red beach and could see the sunset and rise close by. The cost of transfer seems shocking at first but there were no Ubers or taxis that we could find that were cheaper. And the driver was either from the accomodation or lived next door! Thank you guys so much for hosting us! Shout out to the lady who cleaned our room she was amazing. A big thank you for the kindness at reception. Felt like we were really embraced. Thanks

Abelonas Village was a WONDERFUL surprise. Everything was perfect. Hospitality; hotel; spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms; swimming pool...The perfect place for 100% relax, in addition to a location (Megalochori) just a few km from the most popular villages of Thira and Oia. Maritina is the star of our stay in Santorini, as well as being the perfect host: always smiling, joyful, and incredibly helpful, she helped us with everything: car rental, advice on places, restaurants, times, clubs... We couldn't have chosen a better hotel! For our second time in Santorini, we will definitely choose Abelonas Village again, as well as recommending it to all our friends!
