The place was very clean and went well beyond simply being a couple of beds in a room. There was a real intentionality behind everything and plenty of thoughtful touches: things like soaps and shampoos in the right places, laundry bins to put towels, well stocked floor mats in the shared showers, stocked clean kitchenware in the shared kitchenette, a clean fridge, clear signage, etc. The staff were also super helpful and pleasant.

I honestly can't think of any suggestions, my stay here was awesome.

The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, I felt very welcome there. The hotel is attached to a pub and is not very far from the city centre, so it's easy to get food and drink. The little kitchen available to guests was quite good as well (it had a fridge, free milk, and a sink as far as I remember). The room was comfortable, two single beds plus a little table and a window.

I was a little concerned that I couldn't lock my window, as my room was on the ground floor (as were all the other rooms). I'm not sure if this was just my room though. Everything else was great.

Clean and tidy room, showers, toilet and kitchen nook were very clean. Staff were very friendly. The room was small, and bit cramped when I added our luggage, however the bed was big and comfortable. Hand basin in room was great to have. Nothing was too much bother for the staff, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Meals in the pub dining room were great value for money and very handy to be able to eat where we were staying.

The rooms are simple but have everything that you need. Each room has an own sink and comfortable beds. The shared bathrooms are very clean. There are no cooking facilities, only a microwave, fridge and a toaster, but apart from that the kitchen is well equipped and there are many options to eat out, includingthe hotel pub which offers dinner. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

There was a sink in the room! Which I found odd at the start, but was useful to be able to brish my teeth at night! The beds were comfy and there was sufficient heating in the room. The staff were helpful and the place was quiet for a good night's sleep 😊

Fairly small room. The beds took most of the space. The sink in the room, the style you find in washrooms, made the room appear somewhat 'too functional' if that makes sense!

Location very good. Very pleasant accommodation, all clean, comfy bed, and I was made to feel welcome, good value for money. Kitchen area a nice surprise (large fridge, hot water boiler, sink, microwave), and nice to have coffee/tea available in the room

It’s a shame the bar wasn’t open a bit later, I went back to the hotel about 7.30pm and the bar was closed.

1. Easy late check in 2. i ran into difficulties with my car on my way to the hotel and gave then a call enroute. Whilst they were personally unable to help, they were sympathetic and offered suggestions on what i should do. When i eventually made it to the hotel, they checked on me to ensure all was ok, which i didn't expect but appreciated. 3. Room had everything i needed and it was nice and quiet. 4. Plenty of parking outside the hotel on the street (they don't have their own car park)

1. I couldnt get the wifi to work using the password given. As i only stayed one night, i just used my mobile data and didnt bother raising as an issue.

People staying in room 4, rudely knocking on door at 8.50pm, claiming they could hear us talking loudly. Definitely was not the case. Then at 10.30pm having loud knocking on the walls, woke my mother up and she was very anxious all night. Apart from that we had a great evening and stay.

Having a little breakfast Nook. I brought my own breakfast requirements with me and all I needed to prepare my breakfast. I enjoyed myself.

One lazy guest left dirty dishes on the bench which I washed with my dishes. The hotel could have done something to acknowledge the inconvenience and annoyance I had with having to clean up after them.

Cozy beds, neat little room with small washstand and facilities, cleanly laid out, near to the shower/kitchen area, and a stone's throw away from the centre of town. For the room cost, I found this to be a brilliant Hokitika option while travelling up the West Coast.

Very minor issue with the in-room TV, as there are no external speakers. So just factor that in if you're planning on catching up on your shows, you may have trouble with hearing/viewing in the room.
