This was by far the best experience we had at a Cape Town hotel. 5 star in every respect. We had to work during our stay and it was the most pleasant experience. The room was gorgeous, the staff were exceptional and super friendly, the food at breakfast was outstanding. We will continue to visit and recommend the Taj. Thank you again for making our stay amazing.

Nothing to fault on

I stayed at the Taj over the Christmas period in 2023. We were warmly greeted on arrival and Rita at reception kindly upgraded our room from a city view room to a mountain view room. I had informed the hotel before our arrival that we were celebrating my husband's birthday, our wedding anniversary and a babymoon. The room was beautifully decorated with rose petals and there was complimentary drink ready and waiting. The room was topped up with a special treat each day which was a really nice touch. The hotel staff were friendly, attentive and provided excellent service. Special thanks is extended to Rita at reception who always greeted us with a friendly smile, Jade at concierge who arranged our safari and Cape coast tours and was a wealth of information, and the breakfast staff who were warm and friendly each morning. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with great amenities. We took advantage of the spa and pool facilities during our stay. Thank you so much to the Taj for making our stay in Cape Town so special. There could have been more extensive warm breakfast options. But the food provided was good.

Breakfast was superb, but i was disappointed to learn on the 3rd day that each guest is entitled to only 2 glasses of sparkling wine. This is not the same scenario when you have breakfast in the club room, as we had no limits. The rule of 2 glasses needs to be reviewed, especially for customers who are assigned to suite rooms.

Staff who were outstanding there include the following: Frank the operations manager; Christopher is a gem, Colin the barman made the best Old Fashion Cocktail for my husband, Veronica the duty Manager was very attentive to our needs, Alzette the sous chef who always had a small chat with us on daily basis to check if were satisfied with our meals and Ferouz the housekeeping lady who made sure that our room was refreshed and cleaned as needed.

-Room was clean, great quiet except for the floors which were noisy -Breakfast was great with great options -Staff was really friendly -Car valet team were very friendly and helpful

-Check-in process was the worst -Slow process with a lot of confusions between the receptionist -I ended up standing for more than 30 minutes and dealing with 3 different staffs until I was finally given the keys -Gym and swimming pool had no windows or views

The food wasn’t comparable to the expected standard of the hotel. Some of the food on buffet weren’t fresh enough. We stopped eating from the buffet and instead order from the menus.

I was reluctant to make the booking for this hotel due to the price in comparison to other hotels. However our stay at the Taj exceeded our expectations. Our check-in process with Khanyi was seamless, management of Taj your staff member Khanyi is absolutely amazing. Breakfast was delicious & once again exceeded our expectations in comparison to other hotels we stayed at. The service from Wadeeda at breakfast was outstanding, her efficiency is commendable. Your room service wow, hats off to the chef that prepared our dinner on the evening of 01/12/2023, it was truly delicious. The rooms were clean & the view was breathtaking. Nothing was too much for any of the staff.

Nothing really. Just the location is very busy so you have to give yourself extra travel time.

Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds, staff were brilliant and helpful. Pool was enjoyable . Decor and opulence was fitting being the taj

With this time of the year availability of facilities like the spa was poor as there were no availability. Food at the restaurant was disappointing as my meal was salty and had to be sent back and it was a wait until I ate. Additionally there seems to be a difference in service with the foreign tourists and us locals . I would caution on this as locals we are here all year round. I would return however not this time of year

Top class staff that are so helpful and kind. Really attentive. Wide variety for breakfast! Beds are comfortable 😌 👌 There's no load shedding!!!

Breakfast service is a bit slow. Ordered a coffee and it never came.

Every thing is amazing all the staff members are so amazing from the doormen’s to the housekeepers you will be welcomed and treated with the warmth I would like to thanks specially mr Pappy for his hospitality and he offered me a nice treat more over mr enrico the concierge for his professional services and full help and kindness it’s one of my best best hotels I have stayed in my whole life
