Very helpful and responsive hosts, great location if you would like to be near Sol and Plaza Mayor, and very clean. The room I stayed in was basic but the bed was comfortable and it had everything I needed during my stay (fresh towels, shampoo and shower gel, a place to hang a few things, full length mirror, etc). As other reviewers have mentioned, the elevator stops between floors (12 steps up/down), so that’s something to bear in mind if you’ve got mobility issues.

Location is really good. Close to the center of the city, Madrid's royal palace and Plaza Mayor. And it’s also close to the subway station. Overall the accommodation was good.

The flat is shared with more people, and it wasn’t clear in the booking description. You might have a room with private bathroom, but you share the rest of the flat with more people. The reception is confusing.. there’s no indication regarding where you should go to check-in. Don’t count on staff to help or guide you in the city.. they mostly clean and organize the rooms.

I was able to book in the same day and the owner was very friendly. More of like a custom friendly experience than a regular hotel that depending on what you are looking for could be better or worst. Everything was tidy, very clean and they took care of my luggage for the day. Also the location was unbeatable yet the room silent enough to have a great sleep.

Nothing specific. If you are looking for a premium room this is not the place, although the price is not low. The elevator was not working and I had to go 4 floors by stairs but thats circunstancial, I hope it gets fixed soon.

We called to make a reservation, they were closed and they helped us and found us accommodation. They even helped us with the card. Super clean, very educated, good treatment, highly recommended. Thanks .

Outstanding location. Walking distance to everything. Amenities stores/24 h pharmacy across the street. The nicest and most welcoming owner ever! Plaza mayor and plaza del sol ~ 2 min walk. Plenty of restaurants around. Hot water always available and good water pressure. New towels every day. Rooms well isolated and the hostel was quiet. We were out all day and all we needed is a place to nap from jet lag and sleep at night and this was a great place to do so.

Balcony is small, only 1 person can stand, was able to use it only to take souvenir pic of the location lol

The location was great - close to metro, and very central relative to all the other tourist locations. The room was big, very clean and comfortable. Despite it being on the main street, it was also very quiet at night (a rare gem based on our experience staying at different places in Spain!). Angelo (I think is the manager of the place) was the most attentive and helpful staff. We will definitely stay here again when we do go back to Madrid in the future!

Hostal Patria is an excellent, clean, no frills place to stay in central Madrid. Some rooms have balconies and are fairly spacious, while others are small but clean and functional. Angel (the owner) is very responsive and helped us to navigate an oddly timed check-in. Beds are comfortable and the place is SUPER clean and surprisingly quiet considering its location right next to Plaza del Sol. I would stay again next time I come to Madrid for sure!

Amazing personal. Was able to let me check out late at night sincw i had a late flight. The hostal was quite clean and quite (until the last day). The shared bathroom was always clean, and the cleaning ladies cleaned everything, everyday. I liked that there was a window in the room in the smaller interior rooms.

I liked everything, but maybe have a small fridge in each room so the guests can keep own stuff in it.

Perfect location, spotlessly clean. Object is in city centre and everything is on walking distance. The host is very friendly and hospitable. I booked small room and the next day I got better room. My stay there was extremely comfortable. Huge kitchen and nice living room were available for my second room. It was like I was at home. I couldn't say anything bad about this accommodation. All recommendations for this place! If I come again to Madrid, I'll stay there for sure.

Budget room for 1 person was realy small.

I absolutely loved this place! To be honest, I didn’t expect much when booking, but this stay FAR exceeded my expectations. From the beginning, the owner came to greet me and he’s super friendly and full of energy. The place is more like a shared Airbnb-type apartment, with a shared living and kitchen area, and private bedrooms. It all feels very secure though. The place is super modern, spotlessly clean and lots of natural light. I loved the shared lounge, super cosy. Kitchen is well equipped, clean, and all looks brand new and well maintained. Nice bar table and dining table to sit and eat at. The place is extremely central, a few mins walk from the Sol Metro station. Overall, I didn’t expect much. But I am super happy I booked this place!
