Everything, including the fact that it is the oldest hotel in Madrid, from 1610! And great recommendations from the receptionist for two flamenco shows in the neighborhood (walking distance) - fantastic!

It is a top location, but take public transportation or a taxi to get there (from there you can do most by foot). We did not know that you are not allowed to drive a rental car in the area near the Plaza Mayor, so received a fine (besides very high parking costs in a parking garage nearby - the hotel had mentioned there was no hotel parking, so we were aware of that, but not of the specific car restrictions).

Location was great every thing was in walking distance. The pillows and quilt were lovely and snuggly and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a powerful shower and toiletries provided on the wall and a hairdryer. There was a mini fridge in the wardrobe that wasn't pressure activated so you could use it for your own purchases. There is a kettle in the room but no supplies *you have to get coffee sachets etc from the breakfast room. The coffee machines, juice options and continental breakfast choice was good. The cleaners did a great job.

Two people couldn't pass each other round the bed, there were only Spanish speaking channels on the tv and you couldn't plug in your own firestick or usb. There was no view or balcony from the window. The hot breakfast choice wasn't the best, (eg mixed veg ) baked beans only seen on Sunday was the highlight.

Our thousand thanks to the marvelous crew !!! To the breakfast staff- to begin a day with your greetings and tasty goodies - best mood the one may have. Housekeeping service- thanks to all of you - we really felt your care during all our stay. Front desk staff- you are amazing: friendly and always ready ti help . Not having any motion to offend anyone, we would like to say our special MUCHAS GRACIAS to JON. He had met us on the check-in day and we used to turn to him for any information. His recommendations were the perfect in description and helped us to reach the places we were interested in to see. Very skilled and great fellow. Unforgettable experience! Keep it up guys!!!

-Location was perfect; close to every touristic place and restaurants. -Special thanks to Jon and Joana. They were so kind and helpful! 😊 -First day breakfast was so good. We love that tomato sauce. But second and third day there wasn’t it unfortunately :( But anyway it was okay.

-The building is old and it is understandable cause it is in the old part of the city. But the view of our room was so dark and a little bit claustrophobic. I am adding the picture of the view. -And if there are slippers it would be nice. -A little bit pricey if you consider the time we stay christmas market hasn’t opened yet.

We have been to Madrid three times and have returned to this hotel each time. Great location within walking distance of many sites. Close to Sol Metro stop and if inclined, an easy 20 minute walk to the train station. Friendly, helpful staff. The room was small but comfortable. We had 2 lovely little balconies above the street. The beds were comfortable with nice linens. Modern bathroom with a good shower. A/C worked well and was quiet. Wifi functioned well in the room. Very nice breakfast with lots of fresh fruits, cereals, yogurt, eggs, pastries etc. I appreciated the efforts to be more environmentally aware. No more little plastic shampoo, body wash, body lotion bottles. Instead, bottles that are refilled as necessary.

I loved absolutely everything. I arrived at 11am to store my luggage; however, I was advised that my room was ready. Friendly reception staff throughout my stay. Fabulous comfortable room with an amazing bed and pillows. Complimentary water with a fridge and safe. Fabulous bathroom with rain shower. Delicious breakfast. When I checked out, the hotel stored my luggage for me for several hours. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone staying in central Madrid. The hotel is one minute from Plaza Mayor with many bars and restaurants. Two minutes to Mercado de San Miguel. Ten minutes to the Royal Palace and Cathedral. So central that you can walk everywhere. 10/10 for comfort and location ☀️😎

I loved everything 10/10.

Our connecting flight from Madrid was canceled while we were flying into Madrid and we were able to book a room at Petit Palace thru Booking.com not only on short notice, but also to get into the room before 11 am, i.e., shortly after we were able to claim our luggage and leave the airport. This gave us the opportunity to freshen up a bit before touring the city. The clerk at the desk a) arranged a taxi for us for our 8:30 am flight the next morning and b) showed us on the map a recommended route for a self-guided tour and c) offered to arrange to pack breakfast for us to eat at the airport the next day.

It was all wonderful.

The location was great, in the old part of the city and within walking distance of everywhere we went. The staff were terrific, very helpful, and the breakfast was also very good.

Our room overlooked an alley where some restaurants served evening meals. It was fairly noisy one of the nights we were there, but that was not a problem on the other nights. There were potentially quieter rooms but, because the hotel is so old, the ceilings were very low, which the staff very honestly told us would be a problem for my tall husband - they were right.

Perfect central location, train stations, shops, restaurants, Plaza del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Mercado San Miguel (a must for tapas and sangria) , all within a few minutes walk. Myriam went above and beyond to help us out with information to make our stay in Madrid mire enjoyable. Clean room, comfy bed and a superb massage shower. We'll definitely stay in this hotel in our next visit to Madrid.

We did like everything at this hotel

Located a few steps away from Plaza Mayor & Puerta del Sol. The room was to our liking & suited our little party of 2 for the week in Madrid. We opted out of breakfast since there are so many places to eat around. Staff is super helpful & friendly. They hold your bags if you arrive early so you can go explore. Special shout-out to Olga & James who gave great advise on where to eat & what tours to take. They also helped mail our postcards to family/friends & made the transaction very easy.

For safety reasons, you have to be buzzed in to enter the hotel. Our key cards didn't work to open the main door. It's great for my peace of mind but not so great when you've got to use the restroom desperately.
