Historic hotel within the incredible walled medieval city of Carcassone; the location was exactly what we wanted. The winding cobbled streets were just outside, pretty olive trees as our view.
Our room was cute and cozy, but on rainy days or after sunset, it was quite dark. Understandably, due to the beamed ceilings of the historic building, overhead lighting is not doable, but the floor and table lamps were in adequate for creating a warm and inviting space in the evening. Investing in some new fixtures and / or brighter wattage bulbs would help tremendously.

Great location. Very good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Very quiet at night. Dreamy fantastic views from 2 (!) windows.
Superior room was surprisingly glu small. No plug near bed (attention CPAP users). They did supply an extension cord to a plug across the room ( a bit hazardous during g the night). Water pressure sub-optimal in shower. As the shower is in the bath, the step out is tricky with no rail to hold. Could be hazardous in slippery bath. Elevator doesn't go to ground floor.

Very nice stay overnight, we were driving to Spain, but the roads were blocked and we managed to get off the Motorway just passed Narbonne, So this was an unplanned visit, the hotel is a great location, we had a very quiet room (so, a good night's sleep) and the breakfast was excellent, As it was Valentine's night we had the most wonderful 5 course meal and wines (a different glass of wine served with each course) at Chez Christine next door - a lovely evening, such good service, it was exceptional. So all in all, we really enjoyed our visit. We would love to come back to explore this amazing castle.
Our only problem was finding the car park - the road to it has a 'No Entry' sign, but we discovered that it only applies further down the road, you can drive a short way and the car park entrance is then on the left.

We loved the location, very much liked the room and the staff, once we actually checked in at the hotel itself, were very helpful
The car parking arrangements were not so good. Poor directions and no one at the car park to assist and point us in the right direction. For example, it would be so much simpler for arrivals to be told; drive right into the car park, to the end, and you be better able to fi d your way to the hotel’. Once the guide arrived we were able to get to our room. BUT it took over one hour from when we arrived in the car park until we got into our room. But for this we would have given the hotel a higher overall mark.

In the medieval city do you can just walk out you are there! Cute hotel with good facilities. Did not have their breakfast. The parking attendant (Lucian) was wonderful. He brought our luggage up from the car park so we could just walk right into the walled city. When we are done, he took it down again and stored it so we could keep sightseeing. Service throughout the city was friendly even at the end of a hot day full of tourists. WE also enjoyed the ramparts tour by night. And the knights show was fun even though we don’t understand French.
The hotel parking spot was a bit hard to find. They could use one more sign to point the way. But just having the parking service and great staff made the experience wonderful.

We stayed inside a walled city! It was awesome! The staff was excellent. We spoke only a tiny bit of French and they were very gracious switching to English. In the morning I wake up early and I ran into a staff member who helped me find a cup of coffee. They did not have to do that! Fantastic! My kids loved the hotel. The Garden area was just like the pictures. Beautiful
Ok - loved it but there were some small things just to be aware of. Parking is outside the castle - totally fine -infact the staff there was great - but I think there should have been a little clearer in the description were it was and how it operated. The Garden room we stayed in… it is a great hotel, the walk up view very impressive, the walk to the back thru the gardens was beautiful .. the outside of the rooms with the sitting area and big doors was tremendous… but the inside room was … just ok… it was solid… no problems but you are kind of expecting something fantastic with everything else and it is just fine. A little remodel/redecoration and it would be a 10/10. Hoping this is not critical just feedback. Loved our stay. Would stay again. I recommend this hotel strongly.

We really deliberated to stay inside or outside of the Citadel. We are so glad we decided to stay inside and chose this hotel. Positives: Location - being inside the Citie made it so easy to explore. Close to large choice of restaurants and shops. Room Comfort - we stayed in triple room with one large queen bed and comfy single bed. Both beds great, linen was good quality and good pillows. Bathroom good size with separate toilet. Tea/Coffee facilities and small fridge with bottle of water provided. Hotel staff at checkin good and helpful and we were able to access our room 1 hour early. Nice little garden and grounds. Our room looked over Citie Street and there were lots of people still walking around at 11pm but windows double glazed to minimal noise in room. Easy 15 min walk to main town.
Some small things. Since it is the Old Town no lifts so had to carry large suitcases to room on 2nd floor. We had to park outside Citie walls which we knew in advance. Their parking spaces were limited and so we had to book parking in advance. But directions were not given to Hotel car park in the booking and so we had to call to get directions on the day which was a bit of a hassle and some people might struggle without wifi or int Sim. Parking E24 which was a bit pricey. Bags were transported to room quickly and returned back to car park at check out quickly. Finally we had a triple room but there wasn't a lot of floor space for 3 large suitcases, so I had to locate mine in the hallway in front of the door which a a bit of a hassle getting in and out of room.

Cosy hotel in Carcassone itself so no car. Jerome picked us up from the secure assigned carpark and managed to get all our luggage and a mobility scooter (and us) in the very small car! On our way up, he gave us a rapid history lesson and restaurant guidance. Jerome also took us back to the car park in the morning and was unsurprised by our dinner report!
The hotel provides dinner in a restaurant next to the hotel called Christine's. Go somewhere else. 3 main course items were off the menu so we chose the cassoulet. This was too dry and too big for one. I think our waiter was embarrassed to present it and there were several other diners with similar concerns.

Great location, lovely staff especially at breakfast which was lovely and very clean and refilled all the time The hotel is very historic with thick walls but has modern lift facilities etc I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to be in the centre of the old city
Reception staff were lovely but a bit hard to find sometimes. We tried to get a drink in the bar around 9.30/10pm the first two nights of our stay and no one was around to serve us. Rooms were lovely but a little dark - no main light. Main problem was the information given to us last night by the guy on reception. I asked about a taxi to the airport and he told me we could just walk up to the rank and taxis would always be waiting- no need to book. I should have been suspicious as he was going off shift and seemed to want to rush me! Taxi rank was empty and we nearly missed our flight!

We really liked it, friendly staff, nice room, nice bar, pretty garden, easy parking in nearby public carpark. We had a good evening meal in the restaurant allied to the hotel. Some people might think the hotel a little old fashioned but it has lots of character. Crooked staircase but wide and there is a small lift. Good welcome for our large dog who was allowed in the bar in the afternoon on a rainy day and lots of places to walk around the outside of the city walls. Perfect place to stay to see the medieval city, this was our third visit to Carcassonne and this hotel was better than previous places outside of the old city.
We would have liked an option of an early check in as it was a bad day. Maybe they could arrange some snacks in the bar? Breakfast nice but busy. The medieval city was quiet when we were there this time but it gets extremely crowded in the summer (although still worth it!).
