Great location just steps from the beach. Lovely sun terrace. The room was bright clean and spacious with very comfortable bed. Full English breakfast was very good and plentiful.

Booked a table in the restaurant well in advance, waited 10 minutes to be seated even though it wasn’t busy. Food was not as described and was pretty poor. Spoke to the waitress who said she would pass our feed back on to the chef. We spoke to the hotel manager the following day upon check, he dealt with our complaint swiftly and professionally. Would definitely return to the hotel but would not eat in the restaurant again.

The hotel was nice and the staff were all very good. Really liked the bar area. We had a lovely view from our double room. The room was big enough, the bathroom was dated but clean and functional. The room was serviced all 3 days of our stay. The breakfast was good but I would recommend adding it when booking as it wasn't that good that you would pay over £18 on the day.

We had two evening meals in the hotel, one which was the Valentines meal. It was OK but not as good as I would have expected. We had to wait quite a while for the Valentines main course, I had the beef, it was awful and mainly inedible, it was meant to have a stuffed mushroom but didn't and the plate was 3/4 filled with mash. In addition whilst the music is enjoyable in the bar area it is really annoying in the dining room both for breakfast and dinner. There was a wedding function with a disco, which was fine but the music was also left playing in the dining room, it wasn't a nice atmospere. All the staff were helpful and pleasant, some very young but they did a good job, I think the Hotel would benefit from someone overseeing events.

Pools being open to the public.. They took most of the sun beds the time we were there, which caused friction.. Sadly saw bullying by non residents towards hotel residents for sun beds.. Management called, but clearly let non residents stay on site. Not good!!!..

Everything about this hotel is amazing. From the time you walk through the door to the time you leave you are welcomed with a smile. Nothing is to much trouble. We always stay here and never have a problem.

Good location. Nicer inside than out. It’s got an art deco vibe. Staff were friendly but bar service was slow. Nice gardens. Great view of the sea from the Compass Bar. Breakfast was good but we had to insist to sit where we wanted as the person allocating tables kept trying to make us sit where we didn’t want to. Room was ok clean but a little tired looking.

I disliked the indoor swimming pool and the changing rooms in there. They were poorly and very old fashioned. You should spend some money and update it.

Stayed 7 days. Staff welcoming and friendly even though they were working double shifts to accommodate several Wedding Receptions while we were there. Location and position was excellent. We had glorious bedrooms with sea views. Rooms were cleaned every day, with fresh towels, whether we needed them or not! Food choice was good but a little limited for a whole week. Very large portions and served quickly and hot on arrival. Car parking space was requested in advance and confirmed on arrival. Secure and always available no matter what time we returned back to the hotel.

Breakfasts were a bit of a scramble! There were times when you had to wait in a queue for the hot full English, but the staff were all there, fun and worked hard to keep things moving.

Lovely suite, nice temperature and great view around the bay. Useful to have a fridge. The furniture was 'old fashioned' which we loved. It was appropriate to the property and gave a cosy welcoming feel. Comfy bed. We enjoyed sitting in the Compass bar in the evening but it would have been nice to have a pianist play the grand piano. When we have stayed at a weekend this has been a treat but nothing during the week.

A bit of a disaster in the restaurant one evening when we waited over an hour for our meal. Waiting staff very apologetic but managers slow to address the situation. When they did they explained, apologised profusely and compensated us appropriately. We are repeat guests and know this is not usual.

Stayed in a 'small double room' (room 220) which was ideal for single occupancy, surprisingly spacious and extremely comfortable. I must compliment the Housekeeping Team as the room was spotless and beautifully presented. I had booked for dinner in the 1881 Restaurant but decided to cancel when I examined the very limited menu and saw how congested this 'fine dining' restaurant was, with bare tables and no linen table cloths. However, I took breakfast here and it was most acceptable, with freshly baked croissants and pleasant coffee. Breakfast staff were exemplary and produced some cheese for me, when it was not available on the continental breakfast menu.

My only gripe was the fact that all the public areas, lounge, bar and 1881 restaurant were plagued with loud inappropriate pop music thus dissipating what should have been a quiet, relaxing and sophisticated environment. Silence is the perfect background sound, or as a minimum, quiet classical music. General Manager please note.
