Water's edge - Spacious parking incl. I noted that quite a few front facing rooms must have had a great sea view though I had a rear room on ground floor - fab price. A garden area to sit in & watch the sea. The road is in between the property & sea but easy enough to cross and enjoy a walk along the pavement. Everything was clean & had everything required incl complimentary toiletries, coffee & tea. Close enough to amenities. I knew before I booked that there was no breakfast provided, so all good. No extra frills but Ideal for an overnight stay for me so I didn't visit the beach. Thank you

location is incredible. The owner noticed we had booked a twin but only because it was the last one left and asked if we would prefer a double. She gave us the most amazing room at the top with stunning views. What a lovely place and it didn’t smell of boiling cabbage and overcooked egg because they haven’t got the kitchen running.

People see a two star and they think it’s about quality, it’s not, stars are based on facilities and services provided. Often a 2 star will outperform anything else because they aren’t stretched thin on staff manning the skanky pool or the sad, wilted salad bar that no one asked for. This place is perfect: the rooms are brand new and stunning, the location unbeatable, and you’re surrounded by places to get great food so don’t worry!

This hotel was the cleanest I have been to in a very long time the staff were very pleasant on arrival if you are looking at staying in Torquay you could not go wrong by staying at this place was a facilities are more than adequate based on the price the clendingness is exceptional and it's location is very good as well as it's a fairly level walk into town not up and down all the hills for anybody wishing to stay in Torquay one of the best I have stayed at

This property was very good if there were any notes to make it more memorable probably to offer a breakfast but that is the only thing

The room was clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom was a nice size and modern. The actual hotel was modern and clean and in a great location; just minutes from the train station and not too far from the town centre.

The only negative aspect of my stay was the lack of any food options, which meant I had to go into town for food. I would have preferred to have given my money to the hotel and of course not left the hotel just to find food,

The rooms are so nicely and newly decorated and extremely clean. Spacious enough and some of them have great view on the sea. The location is perfect, you can just sit in the front garden and admire the sea. Also very close to the train station.

Just in one room water pressure wasn't great but in the other one it was perfect! So really, everything was almost perfect.

We love everything about Waters edge, it's our go to hotel we stay several times a year , and always get the same room which we are highly grateful for. It's home from home , the staff are always welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very comfortable and clean, very nicely decorated, it's in a brilliant location so it's easy to walk to either Torquay town or Paignton , the train station is less than ten minutes away on foot , beaches within minutes. Lovely front garden with seating. Night porter doorbell after 11pm so the building is secure at night. Looking forward to going back soon. Oh and the shower is excellent 👌

Coming home

Waters edge is our go to home from home , we have stayed here more times than I can remember. We are always very happy with the room , the hotel is very clean , warm and comfortable. Lovely friendly owner and staff that are always happy to help with anything . Perfect location with fantastic views . The main door is locked by 11pm for security to keep everyone safe in their beds at night. Highly recommended we look forward to returning in a couple of months.

Nothing to dislike

Although basic, it was clean, well maintained and comfortable. The staff were friendly. The hotel was within walking distance from the railway station.

Despite a lovely dining area, there was no breakfast available. I learned through other reviews guests brought food back to the hotel.

Great location, manager was very helpful and nice to see it being refurbished. It is on a busy road but has access to the bus stop very close by if you don’t wish to drive. The bed was comfortable, I slept very well

It would be nice if some form of food was served even if it was just breakfast. The lounge,“dining area”’has a lovely outlook and I feel is wasted.
