The is in an excellent location and very close to local bars & restaurants. The staff were exceptional, it was my birthday and they left a balloon with a card and some chocolates when I returned from dinner, this was very thoughtful and appreciated! The bed was comfortable although I would have preferred firmer pillows (personal preference) Breakfast was fantastic and very filling we struggled to eat it all!

We stayed in the Victorian Room, the only thing I didn't like was not being able to open the windows as the air con and the heater didn't work well. I suggest more natural lighting as the room felt dark. It is a little expensive for drinks but the cocktails were exceptional and you definitely get what you paid for.

The staff was superior at this hotel. The cocktail bar cocktails were truly handcrafted right down to the ice. The service was impeccable. The spa was also very nice as well as the wet spa within it. The regular hot tub on the roof was not very hot and the guy was a little tight. But overall they maximized the space well. The hot tub on the roof had a lovely view of the city and champagne and other drinks were available as well.

Lighting was a little dark and no outlets in the bathroom made drying your hair a little challenging. However I am in another hotel in Ireland now with the same experience so it may be an Ireland code type thing.

Great Room Restaurant was outstanding! The housekeeping team comes twice a day. The staff was really kind and helpful. The location was in the heart of the city centre, namely in the Cathedral Quarter. Even the bus stop to the airport was within a 2 minute walk.

Absolutely nothing.

Fabulous building in a great location. Our room was ready on arrival which was really helpful. Breakfast in the great hall was a la carte only but delicious (and I was able to adjust the menu to taste).

We were given a room in the old part of the building and the plumbing was a bit old and noisy. There was also no mini bar so couldn’t keep drinks cold.

the building is very characterful, historic and unique. the great room (where breakfast is served) is particularly splendid. breakfast was delicious - and service very good. Our room was in the Victorian part of the building - and very spacious. the staff were very helpful and well-informed. Cocktail bar was great.

The decor in our room (in the Victorian part of building) was becoming a little tired. The gym had lots of daylight and was fairly well-equipped, with a good selection of machines and free weights, but lacked proper bikes (e.g., Peloton or Matrix), and there was no area for stretching. A nespresso machine in the room would have been appreciated. As would more sockets near the bed.

Our Merchant hotel stay was something else, from the xmasy decor to the warm welcome. Close to all shopping centres and Xmas markets.

Having to pay for car park.

Lovely hotel had stayed before so knew what to expect. Very Christmassy and the staff were lovely and accommodating

I had booked a room with a king double bed but when arrived it was 2 queen beds. We slept in one but had been really wanting the bigger bed Also, went down for cocktails before dinner o my to be told there was a 1/2 hour wait to sit at bar which wasn’t really what was expected from 5 star hotel and a resident.

The rooms were absolutely stunning—spacious, immaculately clean, and elegantly decorated with a perfect blend of classic and modern touches. The hotel’s location is another standout feature. Situated right in the heart of Belfast, it’s the ideal base for exploring everything the city has to offer.

In the heart of the city surrounded by exceptional restaurants and bars. Delicious cocktails in Bert’s Bar👌

Unfortunately my daughter and I were woken up very early 7am by loud thuds from above. We were so looking forward to a nice lazy lie in before breakfast. We were on the 5th floor so we think it may have been from the gym above??

The shower had immaculate water pressure, and the bed was comfortable. The room and facilities were really pretty. Staff was super nice and professional. The vibe is well curated. The building is beautiful from the outside. Definitely a nice hotel for the price. The location is pretty good. I’d come back if I had a reason to go back to Belfast.

The signs in the hotel are somewhat confusing, and the restaurant was a bit dusty.
