Excellent on both counts. But unfortunately, the sun beds, were all taken by 8 in the morning, and most people did not arrive down to use them for 3 to 4 hours later after leaving their towels on them. Most ANNOYING - for this reason, I would have to think strongly if I would return - otherwise great hotel. Regards, Joan

Amazing break. The hotel has thought of anything you could want, and the staff were always available and eager to help. Food in the restaurant was a mix of different types and tastes - was brilliant to be able to pick and try a selection to discover what you liked best. The pool bar also had a selection of snacks - what we tried was really nice. Both pools were great. I enjoyed an early morning swim in the indoor pool each morning and spent time relaxing by outdoor pool in between walking on the connected beach or wondering down the centre of Nerja. Nerja is so beautiful, and the hotel's location and facilities make it a perfect place to experience it.

Just home and still buzzing from the experience - I can't think of anything I didn't like - so much so that we are already looking at going back.

For me everything was perfect. My room was spotless clean, bright, modern and spacious. I was concerned at first being on the lower ground level but I actually wouldn’t have changed it. I had a great view over the gardens to the sea which was peaceful, beautiful and quiet. The food and choice of food was amazing, I was really surprised at the different choices there were. The staff were fantastic…they were very friendly and very helpful. Location was also really good. There was also a really nice gesture from the hotel, being my birthday, I returned to my room to find a bottle of champagne!🥳

Fantastic cleaning and super nice food, lovely view and very helpful staff. Everyone seems happy to work there which is a huge plus in my opinion.

The gym could be better but still gets the job done for a vacation.

My recent stay at Riu Monica Hotel exceeded my expectations in several ways. The location was fantastic, offering easy access to nearby beach and restaurants. The staff were incredibly accommodating and went out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. The room itself was clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated with a nice view, The amenities were top-notch, including a beautiful pool and a delicious breakfast and dinner spread with plenty of options to choose from. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, making it easy to stay connected.

Nightly entertainment in the hotel was kind of passé, with outdated musical performances.

This is my third stay at the Monica, the staff are so friendly and attentive, everything is spotless and the rooms are huge with great walk in showers.

There was only one problem. Previously there were English TV channels other than the news channels, i.e. BBC1, 2 ITV, Ch4 and Ch 5. About 18 months ago the satellite went down and so all these channels came up No Signal. I live a short distance away and this problem can be solved and I don't know why the hotels are so slow to do something about it. When travelling alone some watchable TV s important.

Dinner in the Spanish restaurant located within the hotel. The food was much better in the main buffet style restaurant.

Nice big hotel with lots of open space on lobby floor. Breakfast buffet key to our stay. Plentiful and good. Coffee in dining room an 8! Fast service in dining room. Location was perfect, loved the top floor balcony and view. Loved the shower. Big room and very clean! Indoor pool gorgeous! Anna at reception and Host Antonio at dinner were friendly, efficient pros!

No coffee maker in room! No complimentary beverage station in main lobby. Outside buffet hours, hotel felt deserted with no bar/café/restaurant open on main floor. Frankly, hotel decor was cold, uninspired and somewhat clinical. Bar entertainment was awful. Spanish À la carte food was atrocious! Not up to standards. Inside pool water too cool. Could not see sunsets from balcony!!

A superb hotel, location fabulous. The service at every level was excellent and the cleanliness in every part of the hotel and grounds was exceptional.

The only thing missing was access to British tv, only Sky news available which is limiting to say the least. Especially during the off season it would be so much appreciated if it could be available.

The staff were very attentive as I was alone for half of my stay and use a walking stick. Most of the entertainment was excellent.

The was no British TV and being alone, sunset early in December and weather changable I would have been happier with programmes I could watch and not just depressing Sky News. This is really important to some people.
