Great place for couples, they did a geat job of pampering us on our honeymoon with bottles of champagne, rose petals on the bed, discounted room upgrade....bathtub on every balcony which they provide bath salts and bubble bath! Food was great, drinks weren't super strong but I have yet to be at an all inclusive with strong drinks!! Staff was friendly, facilities were super clean, rooms were spacious, decor was really beautiful. Highly recommend!
1) proximity to airport; took us 1 hr 25 min on the way there but longer (1 hr 45 min) on the way back with traffic. Rented a car which was nice to be on our own time! 2) beach is small (narrow) but we mostly were by the pool anyway

The hotel was very clean and well-kept. Very nice and polite service. We enjoyed the well-equipped gym and fitness classes. The rooms are very pretty and the jacuzzi on balcony was excellent. The beach was clean and beautiful
No buffet for dinner. There are several restaurants to choose, where you need to book a table in advance. In general, we rate the food in the hotel poorly 7/10 - we expect much more. The asian restaurant was the best, but was hard to book a table in the right time. 20min to Playa del Carmen and 1,5h to Cancun no much to do around the hotel.

Could not fault our stay, it was absolutely perfect for our honeymoon! From the minute we arrived to the day we left. It was amazing!
do not get sucked into going to the sales/marketing meeting they talk you into going to during check in, it is pushy and took up a good few hours we won’t get back. waste of time!

Big property, clean rooms, nice beach
Little spaces on the beach, the priority is given to people who are at the swimming pool. Not exactly a calm and quiet place, it’s filled with grownups that just came there to party and get drunk, DJ pumping music super loud from 12-4pm Also they attach hotel worker to you, who writes to you every single day and basically tries to get more money out of you…

UNICO exceeded my expectations and I have already recommend this resort to others. We ate at every restaurant on site and did not have one bad meal. The food and drinks are top tier for an all inclusive resort! The service is also fantastic and aren't overbearing - I also enjoyed that the beach was "private" meaning there were not a lot of people passing by to sell you items. I recommend the swim up pool! It's an absolute MUST and they will even serve you by your own pool.

Food at the pool and room service food was not as good as it used to be. Now they haggle you at the end to sign up for stuff and now they have members only section. And they offer bottle service where the up charge is ridding

The property was beautiful and the staff were top-notch. We were constantly checked on to see if we needed drinks refilled or food brought to us, and the concierge program made dinner reservations and any questions really easy to handle.
The food was good, but not great. It was interesting that there was not a buffet options available for lunch or dinner.

Selection of restaurants was great and the food quality was excellent. The room was spacious and clean. Great room service 24hrs a day. Good selection of drinks and the pools were spacious and clean. Beach was lovely.
Quiet pool was not quiet, and staff did nothing to ensure all people around the pool were happy. Staff waiting beds around the pools varied in standard. On one day a waiter kept asking us if we needed anything but when ordered nothing was brought. He took water and drinks to other beds but ignored us.

Beautiful view. Loved the tub.
Plumbing was a little wonky. It was so far from the main building so you had to walk through the heat and humidity to get to restaurants and such. Minor but when it’s hot, it’s hot to get anywhere. Pools were full! Would have liked maybe one more restaurant there.

Clean, modern, sleek amenities. Friendly staff, kind, helpful. Pool was pretty and room was great. Food was good. Drinks were nice. Great cocktail and food options. Staff was very accommodating. Please tip your staff, they’re very hardworking people. the restaurants and food was top notch quality. definitely top tier for all inclusive. the staff was very quick and kind. please try to speak some spanish. its the courteous thing to do. the vacation maker Yolanda was very kind and honest and helpful. Our Local Host Luis Enrique was very responsive and attentive to detail. Dance and activities hosts Tony, Manu, and Jorge were great people. Special shout out to Guadalupe, Jesus and Jose at the 20.87. pool bar and poolside service for being wonderful people. Unico set the bar very high for future hotel stays.
The time share sales pitch. We arrived late and didn’t get to meet our “local host” the evening we arrived. A man called our room at 8:30-9am to say he wanted to meet us. Was this our host? No. He was one of several salespeople who passed off between us talking up the property with what ultimately ended in a timeshare sales pitch. I had a gut feeling it was a time share pitch, and they were atleast kind and not too pushy. We did it for the free spa promo (couples massage is over $800, they gave us the couple massage 1hr for $2 after their aggressive sales pitch.) It was a big bummer. It almost entirely turned me off from the resort but no other activity felt like a sales pitch. overall the trip went well.
