The room was a great size with a huge lovely comfortable bed. The hotel is on the main street of Callendar and only a short walk away from the centre of town. There is plenty of parking at the rear of the hotel. There is a walk-in wardrobe to hang your coats and put your bags. The bathroom had recently been renovated with a fantastic shower and lovely decor. Breakfast is served in the bistro and was lovely, more than enough to eat. Greg the owner and his staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

There was a smell in the bedroom, which may be due to the new refurbished bathroom, however opening the window seemed to help this.

Hotel in on the main street in Callander, so a good location for shops etc. Room was at the side, so no real traffic noise. Good sized bathroom and large shower. Had dinner in the bistro downstairs and it was excellent - both the food and service. Ditto breakfast - hot food to order, which meant my veg omelette was fresh and a good start to my day.

The reception is in the back bar, which felt a bit 'uncomfortable' as I arrived after a day's walk and drinkers were sitting at the bar which is rather dark. It was actually ok, but my first impression wasn't great. The carpet in the room had some very noticeable marks and the room felt in need of redecoration / TLC. But would stay again.

This is a nice hotel in great location with a local bar underneath which is great for spending a couple of hours in. The breakfast was nice too with a decent choice. We were both vegan but had a few options. As for the room, we had a big family room at the front of the hotel . Yes the furnishings are a little tired but all amenities were provided, the shower was great and the room was large. The staff were very nice at check in and at breakfast and at the bar. All in all I wouldnt hesitate to return.

The furnishings in the room looked a little tired.

The place was charming. The staff went above and beyond in their service. We looked to eat after the kitchen closed, and the amazing bartender helped us find food elsewhere. Our dogs were allowed in the room and pub. Everyone was kind to us as well as the dogs. The dogs were given water and sausages. ❤️ We will definitely return.

It was a bit of a warm day, so we left the windows open. The street noise woke us a few times. Where we live is pretty rural, so we weren't used to street noise. But this wasn't anything on the facility. It was warm and welcoming. .

Breakfast was good, with the chef popping out to see that all was well. The room was large and had all the facilities I needed, including a bath. The bed was very comfortable as I had as good a night's sleep as I could wish for. It's not a swanky hotel, as made clear by the affordable price but I liked it very much.

I could have done with some warning that my room was above the bar where the music is played on Friday and Saturday nights! I had an early night on Friday and suffered some disturbance but I made sure I was in the bar to enjoy the music on Saturday! It was a great evening.

The staff were amazing. The food was excellent and now that the Bistro is open it makes a big difference. Plenty of choices for breakfast and dinner. You can now eat in the bar or in the bistro. The hotel is also dog friendly. The hotel is ideally situated for shops and restaurants. Entertainment Friday and Saturday evenings.

I think another light should be fitted on last flight of stairs at Bistro end. 8 or 9 steps down before light comes on and it can be very dark as carpet is dark. The light is fine going up stairs but coming down is a problem

The staff we met were very kind and helpful. We booked 4 rooms for an overnight stay at The Dalgair for after our son’s wedding at Loch Venacher. I made Initial contact with Nikki through Booking.com, she ensured our wee requests were met. I also met young Aaron who worked (very hard!) in the bar, he was so helpful when my friend thought she’d lost jewellery. When we returned after the wedding we had a drink in the bar just before last orders, it was great to see a busy, bustling pub full of people enjoying their night. I didn’t get the name of the lady who made and served us our lovely Scottish cooked breakfast, she was very friendly and efficient. Thanks again to Nikki and her team.

Dated decor, but we were just glad of a clean comfortable bed after our celebrations. Lots of stairs, fine for us, but elderly parents struggled a bit. Although bar workers need a bit of steeliness about them to survive a busy shift in a Scottish pub, was a bit uncomfortable to hear the Barmaid being short with young member of staff while closing up the bar, however, he just wanted to be efficient and get finished and just got on with it!

Location is perfect for exploring the area. Staff are all friendly and helpful and the quirkiness of the pub's layout added to the enjoyment of my stay. The outside area is lovely with great seating areas and plenty of sunshades, much appreciated in the hot sunny weather during my stay. Dinner in the Bistro was very tasty, plentiful portions and excellent value for money. I hope to be back soon.

Only downside was having a room with the headboard on the opposite side of the wall from a door which always banged when people walked through the corridor. Fortunately it was fairly quiet once the bar closed and people went to bed.

Spacious, well-furnished rooms, a great breakfast, a good restaurant if you feel like having dinner. We needed to park our cycles and the staff were very helpful. We stayed three days and we would highly recommend Dalgair House.

The bar below was noisy on Saturday night. Sound insulation is pretty decent, so it wasn't a huge problem. But be aware that you're on top of a bar.

Polite, friendly, helpful staff. Large rooms. Great location.

Although the facilities/furniture/fittings/decor were all clean and perfectly functional, they were a little tired and run down (but personally this was not a problem for me, particularly given the relatively low price). In terms of noise, it's a bit pot luck depending on the exact location of your room (mine was quiet, my friend's wasn't), but that is only to be expected if you choose accommodation above a pub and on the main road!
