We recently stayed at Bassena Hotel and had a great experience. The hotel’s location is fantastic – it’s centrally situated with easy access to key attractions, public transportation, and some nice local spots. It was perfect for both exploring and coming back to relax. What stood out to us was the eco-friendly approach the hotel takes. From sustainable toiletries to efficient energy use, it’s clear Bassena cares about minimizing its environmental impact. It was refreshing to stay somewhere that prioritizes sustainability without sacrificing comfort. The breakfast was another highlight. There was a good variety of fresh, quality options that felt a notch above the typical hotel breakfast. However, while the food was delicious, we found the price a bit high. For those who prioritize a hearty breakfast, it’s worth it, but others might want to consider dining options nearby. Overall, Bassena Hotel is a great choice for eco-conscious travelers who value a central location and a bit of luxury in their stay.

There were a couple of minor drawbacks. The rooms lack wardrobes, which made storing clothes a bit challenging for a longer stay, as there wasn't much dedicated space to organize our belongings. Additionally, we found the pillows to be a bit uncomfortable – they felt flatter than we prefer, which affected our sleep quality.

The hotel was new and modern, the room spacious and the amenities were great. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but by the looks it seemed good as well!

Our room wasn’t cleaned although we left early in the morning and left the sign on the door. When we returned, the room was still not cleaned. I would also have liked some body lotion in the room in addition to the toiletries they offered. Location was otherwise great (very close to the subway) but a bit too far to walk to the center of the city.

We were asked to pay in advance what was really strange because i traveled all over the world and never been asked to pay in advance for room and parking, especially if you have my credit card there..... only the ladies of the night are paid in advance it's Ok if you charge me immediately online but not Like that it was kind of disrespectful and showing no trust.... as I said I like the hotel the breakfast and everything only i think the girl on the reception desk that morning didn't have the best day

The facilities were good - the room was a good size and the decor was homely and comfortable. Everything I needed was in the room and there were some good mood lighting options. The breakfast had a wide selection and the gym, while small, had a good selection of both weights and cardio equipment. Location was excellent for the exhibition centre and easy access to the centre either on foot or by public transport

My only gripe is that the service and food selection in the restaurant were poor. The food itself was fine, if unspectacular but it took a very long time to arrive.

Room: Room is standard hotel room size, but with some nice features like an extra large TV, a little sofa corner next to the bed, a fridge, and a glass water bottle. There is also a bath tub and decent air condition. There's no balcony, but there is a "balcony" door you can open, which is very nice. Nice decor, and a tablet where you can manage things like room cleaning and late check-out. Overall a solid step above the budget chains. Tip: It should be possible to cast your phone to the TV to watch Netflix and similar. We struggled to get this to work, but you can ask a staff member for help. Lobby: The lobby area is very inviting and spacious, and there is lots of room to sit down with friends. There is also a self-checkout bar and a little self-service fridge, as well as a water fountain with bottles and glasses you can use freely. Location: It's not the most central, but the area is nice and quiet with a couple of restaurants. I strongly recommend nearby Little Britain for a lovely breakfast and service experience. The hotel is also just a 15 minute walk from the busy Praterstern station, with a large, permanent fun fair on the way. Additionally it's just a few minutes walk to a quiet, spacious McDonalds, which is also right next to the Messe-Prater underground station. From here you can hop on a frequent subway to Praterstern and change trains to go anywhere in Vienna. Just cross the quiet street next to the hotel and take the cycle/walk path up to the station. Service: The staff was very gracious and didn't charge us for our slightly late checkout. Everyone was friendly, very much so by Vienna standards. Atmosphere: The hotel has a casual, trust-based vibe, and you don't feel out of place as a regular tourist. That being said, it is nicer than a budget hotel, so it's perfect for visitors who want to stay in a quieter part of town or close to the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, and want to treat themselves to something mid-range.

Breakfast: Unfortunately we didn't have the breakfast as it was very expensive (€24 per person per night). This is something I wish the hotel would review. To save money, I recommend the breakfast menu at nearby McDonalds, or for a similar price you can go to a lovely tea house called Little Britain nearby. Wake-up: If you don't hang out your "do not disturb" card, you do risk being woken by a staff member knocking on your door and opening it, asking if you want tea or coffee. While the thought is nice, I didn't appreciate being disturbed before 10 without any prior warning.

Overall, I had a great stay! My room was very spacious, and I could adjust the temperature easily. The bed was comfortable, and I loved the large blackout curtains, which allowed me to sleep in late. The bathroom was well-equipped with all the essentials. I also appreciated that on weekends and public holidays, breakfast is served from 6:30 am to 12 pm, making it perfect for those like me who prefer to sleep in without having to rush to breakfast.

Been here with my wife for a couple city break and we were really happy with choosing this hotel for our stay. The staff is very helpful and nice, starting from the reception, the kitchen staff and the housekeepers. The hotel offers you a lot of perks and facilities, like coffee maker, water boiler for tea, TV with phone casting and glass water bottle and a water fountain downstairs. For us the location was perfect, easy to arrive from the airport by train, close to the subway and close to the Prater Amusement Park. Great value for money

Sometimes the Miracast for the TV phone mirroring would glitch and you couldn't use it for a while, wasn't a big issue for us though because we didn't stay that much in the hotel room

Great design, lovely room, clean and comfortable. The location was really convenient being close the the ubahn. We loved the fountain at the reception as well as all the amenities. We also had a great sleep and we enjoyed our stay a lot!

The room pad being used as a remote control was a bit confusing and the instructions were not really clear. We were a young couple in our late 20s and we needed 20 minutes to figure out how to connect our Netflix with the tv. I figure it must be really difficult for older people not accustomed with technology as much!

The hotel is clean and comfortable which is good, its location is close to the metro station and the staff are very friendly and hard working. The reception is great and quiet and there is free water

The water was cut off for several hours during the night and it was very annoying (For the first time for me, the water was cut off in a hotel), check in was delayed because the hotel was crowded! My request was for a bathroom with a bathtub but because of the crowd they gave me only a bathroom with a shower. Note that my reservation was made months ago

This hotel is a great all-rounder with everything I expect from a hotel. There is garage with paid parking. It's relatively easy to get to the city center via public transport. 24/7 reception desk, easy check-in/check-out. The first time I stayed there I could leave my car in the garage after checking out. The rooms are climatized, which alllows setting temperature to your liking.

It's a bit pricey, despite the room size and location (unless you want to be in the Messe Prater area).
