Upon arrival the location was clean and well kept. The room itself was larger than I expected, very clean and had a King size bed (bonus!!). The bathroom had a bathtub/shower as well which was a nice touch! My Wife and I also loved the walk out balcony, but also the privacy the palm trees and garden provided in between the balcony and the road. Since it was our Honeymoon, one of the Owners Sue, also brought my Wife a bouquet of flowers all the way from the city of Melbourne... which exceeded mine and her expectation and was so generous. Overall, our experience at Portside was GREAT, 10/10 would recommend and stay here again should we ever find ourselves back in AUS!

Our very spacious room was absolutely beautiful and equipped with everything you may wish to have. The bed was really comfortable and all care products of a high quality. You could get good fresh coffee from a coffee machine in the reception area whenever you wanted. The owner were very helpful and friendly. In addition, the accommodation is in a very convenient location (not only in the village but also directly on the Great Ocean Road and close to the London Bridge, The Twelve Apostles and many more).

The manager went above and beyond to give us some pointers about what to do. Couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly (his cat was also very cute!). The room was fantastic - bright, spacious and comfortable with plenty of facilities including a fridge. There were even some mini chocolate eggs for us when we checked in, which was a nice touch. The bed was also huge! We were running a bit late in the morning and checked out about 15 minutes later than we should have done, but they didn’t seem to mind. Would definitely stay there again - lovely place.

Honestly, I’m struggling to think of a single bad thing to say about this place. It was fantastic. The only very minor comment I could perhaps make is regarding the pillows which I found a bit hard and flat, but I am incredibly picky with pillows, so I would take that with a pinch of salt!

We were greeted with the most warm reception from Des. Stepping into our room we were pleasantly surprised, the room was lovely and large, all beautifully clean with a table and chairs plus reclining chairs, a sliding door to an outside balcony with table and chairs as well.!! The bathroom had a shower curtain which was refreshing as there was no mouldy silicon you inevitably find elsewhere The shower was lovely and hot with plenty of water…being conscious of conserving water. Des was very helpful when we had a slight hiccup with the TV, nothing was a problem The pictures on the website are true to what you will get when you stay.

Perfect in all aspects. Hosts Sue and Des were personable, extremely hospitable, and friendly...added a wonderful human touch to our journey. Our adult kids love their dog and cat!. All amenities were provided for including thoughtful local and good quality toiletries. Love the spacious parking, the private courtyard, and even the special fence! Location excellent for getting to landmarks of the great ocean road.

This property was clean, well maintained and tastefully appointed. A very comfortable bed, luxurious bedding and a quiet setting made for a great night’s rest. Check in was smooth and we were asked if we had dinner plans and given suggestions as to where we could go. A small container of milk in the fridge for our morning tea was a pleasant bonus. I would stay again and definitely recommend. Thank you!!

Had a great stay here for a night while traveling along the great ocean road! Super cozy room that was way nicer and spacious than expected, especially for the price. Bed was very comfy and it came with a bunch of nice perks like the coffee maker and coffee/breakfast biscuits. I also loved that it had a nice little porch outside that is under cover. It happened to pour the night that we were there so it was nice to still be able to be outside! That man working at the reception desk (I didn’t get his name) was also super helpful with recommendations and info about the area! Would definitely stay here again and recommend!

Honestly nothing. It was perfect.

It was a very pleasant end to a day of riding in the heat. The rail trail finished just over the road from the motel. It had a huge bed, nice hard wood floor and an actual kitchen sink (as opposed to having to fill a kettle under a bathroom sink tap). And we even had access to streaming services on the TV. It was a little awkward signing in but we got there.

The shower was okay but pretty messy, just a curtain, no enclosure, so water was everywhere. But this is a very minor concern.

The room was great, large, with 3 separate seating areas including a lovely terrace. There was all the crockery and cutlery you could need and little extras like chocolate bars. The toiletries provided were lovely and the bed was very comfortable with crisp white sheets. Des was very helpful, with info on the local area and restaurant recommendations. The coffee from the machine in the morning was delicious. The sum total was way more than expected and we would definitely return!

Portside Motel really set a high bar. Sue and Des are amazing hosts and it felt like I was chatting with an old friend. Checking in and out was extremely easy. They go above and beyond! The place was clean and tidy. I especially love how they use Australian products in the bathroom that are for sensitive skin. Far exceeded our expectations.

Bed was a bit stiff for my back but that was just my personal preference. Still had a relaxing rest.
