Very close to the bus and train station. Nice, historical building with a cozy and clean room. The breakfast was in a different area of the building, so you have to go outside to enter the breakfast area. Several options, loved the homemade desserts. The staff was very kind and helpful.

We arrived on a Sunday and their restaurant was closed for the entire day. The second day it was the 30 and apparently the 30th of each month they have the restaurant opened only until 5pm (so basically you cannot have dinner). Could plan a bit better or communicate this in the description, they advertise like it's available all the time for lunch and dinner.

Stari Tišler is an old house with history – it should be treated as such; it’s not a hotel with a cold, modern design. The owners and staff are very kind people, always ready to help and provide advice, and they make excellent coffee. The breakfasts were sufficient, though more or less the same every day, but with a diverse selection that allows guests to mix and match according to their taste. The location is also great, as the guesthouse is just a few minutes away from the train station (and near the best burek in town).

During our first stay, our room was OK, but during the second stay, we had a slanted window facing the street, so as soon as it started raining, we had to close it. That would have been just a minor issue, but unfortunately, the internet didn’t work very well. It's also important to note that the rooms are on the upper floor, and the building doesn’t have an elevator (it wasn’t a problem for us, but we did see several older guests with problems).

Excellent location, about halfway between the Old Town and both the bus and train stations. The owner is ever present; she is very hospitable and extremely helpful. My room was small, but clean, with a nice shower and a comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet is supposed to be served from 7:30, but it was available as early as 7 AM. The breakfast is very basic, but the food is good.

The TV monitor was small and few channels were available; I could not find the news in either English, French or Spanish. But then again, one does not go to Ljunljana to watch TV.

Great location for backpackers. Halfway between the bus/train station and the old town centre. Short walk to the station and river. The guesthouse is in a renovated historic building. Standard buffet breakfast. Coffee was served at the table. Polite and helpful staff. The train departure was in the afternoon, but we could leave our backpacks in storage.

The room was quite small and the slanted window opened directly onto the office building across the road. We stayed at the weekend - when the bar and restaurant were not open.

It's at a very convenient location, right between the busiest parts of the center and the bus/train station. It's a simple guesthouse, good for having a hub to spend the night in before continuing your trip activities. Despite the location, the immediate area isn't very loud, and every time I've stayed was rather comfortable. Having breakfast included is also quite nice to have, and it's a fairly standard but still pretty varied selection of breakfast foods.

The yellow lights in the rooms can make the space feel a bit claustrophobic when the days are cloudy and dark, considering the only window is a skylight. Other than that, the main issue was that only a few tables in the cafeteria have salt/pepper shakers, and that the vegetables offered sometimes aren't in the best shape.

We booked this property because of its proximity to the bus station but it is also a very easy walk to the old town and it’s many attractions. The room was spotlessly clean and looked like it has been newly renovated. The staff are very friendly and the manager allowed us to leave our luggage there until the room was ready. The breakfast buffet was generous with a good range of cold food, and in good weather you could have had it in a lovely courtyard.

They really need to invest in some new pillows which are thin and lumpy

The location was close to the old city centre as well as easy access to train/rail/bus. Superb staff! Superb! It makes such a difference. The rooms are clean and though simple (value for money), the breakfast, location and staff make it so pleasurable. They also had a loft window that could be fully opened…fresh air…wonderful! Also there is an open air area tables and chairs within the facility to relax. I am now in a more expensive hotel (closed windows and breakfast not as good) in another country and thinking that even though the rooms are luxurious, I would much rather be staying there for freshness of the rooms.

The rooms were basic as expected but value for money.

Very close to station and city centre. Really attentive staff who clearly really want to make sure you have a good experience. Very reasonably priced for a place of this quality. I enjoyed an evening meal there, too, at a great price with very helpful waiter.

This is NOT a criticism but travellers should be aware that since it is a family run establishment you have to check in earlier than in most hotels (and last orders at the restaurant is unusually early). I mention this because I came from Zagreb and there's an afternoon and an evening train direct. If I had gotten the evening train I would have arrived too late to check-in... So pay attention to the details when booking.

Stari Tišler was located within a 5 minute walk to the old town and also the bus and train station in the other direction. So very conveniently located. I enjoyed some delicious traditional food there as well. The Hostess Betty was terrific and extremely helpful. The staff were friendly and courteous, nothing was too much trouble for them. Shout out to Mark and Nina. My room was clean and comfortable.

The only drawback I found was my bed was less than knee high off the floor, but once in it, it was very comfortable.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, allowing us to leave our luggage in their office, prior to our room being ready, on two separate occasions (we stayed here twice during our week in Slovenia).

We would have liked a mirror in the bedroom of Room 1004, as opposed to just in the bathroom. Room 1005 had a mirror in the bedroom and bathroom 🙂
