This hotel was luxury, clean, had comfortable beds and it was central to various site-seeing locations. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating, especially Marianne, Baby Girl and Shabeer from the breakfast section, they served us with the most friendly attitude and biggest smiles on their faces every morning whilst we stayed there for 8 days. I would definitely love to go back. Great experience!

No issues with the property. Though, it would have been nice if the shuttle service they provided ran to and from a few more sites close by rather than just the V&A Waterfront.

The breakfast was so perfect and its the type of breakfast that one can associate with the Sun hotels. The staff was so good and I was welcomed with love and comfort. Thanks to the team.

I think the hotel can do much better with that carpet. It is very dirty and need to be replaced. The building on the outside needs maintenance and its not attractive. It can do better with maintenance. We talking about Cape Town which is a world class city. I think Southern Sun need to shape up especially because they are next to CTICC and also located in a world class city, therefore they ought to be world class. Please kindly inform people about parking which is not for free. On check out I was told I need to pay for parking and I refused because I was not told about it from the beginning.

The service from staff was great, they served delicious breakfast that catered for a toddler. The complimentary shuttle to and from the V&A Waterfront made our experience of Cape Town seamless. Our room had beautiful views of the Harbour and a bit of Signal Hill.

They did not offer buffet options for dinner, which made it difficult to find homestyle food for our family. It also made dinner monotonous, given that most restaurants offer toddlers chips and chicken strips. The interior of the hotel was also very cold. The aircon could be adjusted, especially since it is located in a shady part of the city.

The kids received their lovely welcome bags with snacks. And we received welcome treats in our room. They cleared our tables on time. The staff at breakfast were so friendly and attentive. The food was good. The restaurant and bar staff were attentive and friendly. They made my husband's birthday so special. The ladies sang beautifully for him and he received a complimentary slice of cake. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool area. The pool towels are always refreshed and available.

The variety of breakfast sweet treats and breads could be improve a bit. And also the bacon was a bit on the dry side. However, I cannot fault anything.

Very nice facility, close to the Waterfront, but not on it. Our view was on the canals and towards the Waterfront, but also overlooking a busy street -- which was not too noisy at night. The room was small, but efficiently furnished, with comfortable beds. The pool was tiny -- and we did not use it. Breakfast was excellent, with several choices of hot and cold items, although rather crowded at times. The staff were friendly and efficient, although occasionally swamped with too many guests demanding their attention: we noticed that several fairly large groups arrived or checked out at times, which put pressure on the reception staff during those times. The free shuttle going to the V&A is fabulous. The driver made sure to return and do another trip if a pick-up was in such high demand that he could not take all the passengers at the same time. We also walked to the V&A during daytime hours, a short 15-minute trip on the canals, passing by some good restaurants and equipment rental stores. The walk would probably be safe after dark as well, but the hotel staff recommended against trying. Parking underground is affordable and safe, with in and out privileges.

We booked this hotel thinking we could walk to the Waterfront, but the staff advised against doing that at night. We still walked back and forth during the day and enjoyed the shuttle at night. The only time we had to drive or take an Uber was to have dinner at some of the nearby restaurants that were too far to be reached safely on foot and not far enough to be in the safe area at the Waterfront.

Breakfast was excellent, I enjoyed it everyday. there was this other lady who used to make us fried eggs and omelette in the morning, she was a darling always smiling and making us to feel so welcomed.

I was staying in Room 1051, I used a bath tub for bathing. for three consecutive days I had to was it myself before i can take a bath because the lady who was cleaning my room did not clean the tub. I reported it to the housekeeping but nothing was done, I was a bit disappointed.

The property has a convenient shuttle to the huge V&A complex on the waterfront with hundreds of shops and eateries. There were many choices at the breakfast buffet, and tasty food can be ordered in the restaurant.

Wasteful practices: I would hang up the towels in the morning and they would always be exchanged for clean ones by housekeeping. I don’t know how many people change the towels daily in their homes but weekly works for me. New boxed bar soap would appear daily, the previous one having been used once.

Chefs at breakfast made our day with their happy faces. We had a car so location was ideal. Would be challenging if you were on foot...

We had a family room and it was a tight squeeze with little cupboard space for a 4 night Stay. Bathrooms were grubby and didn't smell clean Bedding was not changed. Missed the little touches of a 4 star hotel. 🌟 Sadly ,there was no poolside service. The pool side menu was very limited. So we didn't eat while sitting in the sun and hoping to relax. Why does room service close at 10pm? Why is everyone so grumpy in the hotel?

You can't pick a better location. Very close the the Victoria Waterfront which has loads of restaurants. The suite is spacious. Hotel was kept clean. The staff were very helpful and efficient. 2 examples - we needed a room upgrade to a suite, they were adaptable and sorted it out for us. The bar staff didn't have the cocktails we like on their menu but went ahead to mix them because they said they had the ingredients.

Food options for room service / restaurant could be more varied.

The staff, great service from the whole team, housekeeping, Baby girl at the egg station, and Ayanda at breakfast service. I would rate them all 10.

The hotel is old and could use some upgrades, e.g the coffee machines and breakfast kettles are damaged and slow down the breakfast service. There are a lot of infrastructure issues that management needs to address.
