Extremely friendly staff who went out of their way to assist with all requests. Great food. Beautiful setting and buildings. Rooms were serviced twice a day. Very save environment. We spend new year at the hotel and it was very peaceful. Rooms are spacious with outside sitting area. Good wifi. Hotel is very well managed with a smooth check in procedure.
Nothing I didn't like. It was a great experience.

Meals were incredible and no special food requests were too much effort for the staff or kitchen. Portion sizes are generous and food is well-priced. The housekeeping staff were lovely, professional, and non-intrusive when doing turn-down service. The room is spacious, clean, and comfortable with a great view. Attention to detail was fantastic. Thank you for making our stay so special
I was looking forward to trying the hot oats with whisky but I think they might have put too much whisky in the oats as it was a bit too boozy. But that was the only thing that wasn't excellent. Just check, the wingback chairs in room 25 are coming undone on the corners which hooked my dress once, but we moved it out of the way and all was fine

We stayed in Hansel cottage which was brilliant for our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted with artisan loaf of bread and welcome letter which was a nice welcome. Well equipped unit, had everything we needed, situated in the most beautiful country setting. Exceptionally quiet spot, outdoor braai was excellent. Beds were comfortable, cooking and coffee facilities were abundant. Located 10km from the gorgeous little town of Dullstroom which offers great little coffee shops, restaurants and little boutique shops. We were actually sad we stayed only one night. Would have been great for a few days. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again on our next travels.
Property does not have aircon or ceiling fans which made it a little difficult to sleep at night. However, not a deal breaker. But if you are someone who does not deal with the heat very well can be a little uncomfortable.

The staff were very attentive and committed to making our time with them perfect. The scenery is gorgeous and very relaxing. Breakfast and dinner was delicious. Drinks in the room mini bar and hotel main bar are reasonably priced with a good selection of wines and spirits. The room is cosy and very comfortable. Activities included fishing, horse back riding, spa and hiking, but we only opted to do the hike.
Nothing really. We were disappointed with the dinner menu on our second night but only because we don't enjoy duck or pork belly and there wasn't any red meat options.

Location was excellent. Fantastic spa and magnificent scones in front of a roaring fire - what a fabulous place.

Overall location, staff, food, fly fishing etc. was excellent as usual we visit Walkersons at least 2x per year and will continue doing so, it's fantastic. The staff are always, helpful, friendly and they are a big part of the good experience we have at Walkersons.
It may just be a difference in rooms or beds and pillows have been changed since our last visit. We found the bed too firm(hard) and the pillows as well. We visit the hotel to have some peace and quiet, relax, catch up on some reading, take a much-needed afternoon nap etc. The installation of a swing seat at the "child's play dam" has naturally resulted in kids gravitating to play in this area with lots of noise in close proximity to some of the rooms, room 18 where we stayed probably the closest to this area.

I really enjoyed the scenery on the property (beautiful dams and hills) and the activities offered. The 1-hr horse riding around the property is a great way to explore the area around the hotel. I also recommend the hiking trail on the mountain, where I spotted zebras and other game. The dinner menu, which changes every day, positively surprised me.
The spa service did not meet my expectations: booking a treatment was difficult, and it looked as if the spa was understaffed. The breakfast menu could also be improved: some dishes are good while others (benedict eggs, pancakes) are average.

Beautiful and cozy hotel. The staff were wonderful and so accommodating. The scenery is amazing. After lots and lots of rain it was lush and green. It was raining the entire time but its the perfect weather for Dullstroom as we were then able to enjoy the fireplace and the coziness of this old, country style hotel.
There is no aircon but the weather is generally not too hot there so it wasn't a problem for us. Had it been warmer it might have been an issue though. However fans do seem to be available on request.

Stunning cozy country hotel in an amazing valley with multiple well stocked trout dams for excellent fly-fishing. Compliments to Walkersons kitchen and chef, evening four course meals were prepared stylishly and presented by very friendly staff in their awesome country house restaurant, each course tasteful and cooked to perfection with each evenings menus offering creative varieties. Breakfasts were excellent too served on their country styled terrace overlooking the top dam and valley.

My room was immaculate. The view over the trout damn was unmatched and the room itself was quiet and comfortable. The en-suite had a bath and shower both with great water pressure. The hotel grounds are magnificent. I spent the afternoons walking and taking in the fresh air on the quiet and peaceful property. The meals were excellent with plenty of choices. You definitely won't go hungry. There is the nice extra of the room turn down service which just reminds you of the caliber of the accommodation.
There is nothing I would have changed. My stay was exactly what I needed it to be. The road between Dullstroom and Walkersons though - treacherous!
