It had good facilities: a swimming pool, garden, bar, and hall. The staff was very friendly. The location (Algeciras) has nothing special, but it is close to Gibraltar, and Marbella and a ferry connects Algeciras with Tanger in Morocco. The buffet in the hotel is good and cheap.

The air conditioning in our first room was not working at all and the weather was extremely hot. The technician could not solve it, and then the receptionist moved us to the only available room, which was much smaller, but at least everything worked. The cleaning was not so good: the water in the swimming pool was dirty (hair, leaves, dust) and the daily cleaning was quite bad (floor with sand, no replacement of soap and toilet paper).

We had a room at the end of a wing and very quiet with good views out to the gardens. The room was cleaned well during our stay and towels replaced on a daily basis. Breakfast was buffet style with a good supply of cold meats, cheeses, yoghurts, pastries etc. We used the swimming pool most days. There was a good supply of loungers with shade provided by a good distribution of sun umbrellas. The pool area was kept very clean with a plentiful supply of clean towels available from reception. A real bonus at the hotel were the gardens and this is a real oasis in Algeciras. The staff were courteous and helpful at all times. A good bar on the ground floor which leads out to a lovely terrace where you can sit with a drink and order light meals.

We cannot think of anything. Bear in mind that this is a historic hotel and therefore "older" than some you will find in the city but we think it has been maintained well.

Although it was a large hotel it was very comfortable and spacious,and if you need a quiet corner you could always find one. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and a bonus of free wine with your dinner. We booked a double room with bathroom and got a small balcony as well. The bathroom had a separate toilet which was great. The gardens are lovely and although we did use them the 2 pools looked great.The only reason I gave it 9 is because we didn't use all the facilities.

We loved all that we did at the hotel.

The property is set up on a hill apart from the action. It is very exclusive and has tons of old world charm. The history of the place is a must know, I enjoyed reading about it and exploring the grounds. Buffet was always great and helped to start and end a day of touring easily. The pool was the perfect spot to relax during siesta. Pleanty of options for outdoor seating everywhere. Room was super spacious with lots of wardrobe space for a longer stay. Parking on-site.

A/c is the only thing I think they should update.

Food as always at the bar excellent and staff amazing. This time we did not eat in the restaurant and depended entirely on the basic menu at bar. Inside pool was open and working as was the gym. The room perfect with balcony, fridge and kettle. Missed the tea spoons do not like plastic stick.

Plastic stick instead of teaspoon. I think hotel does not realise sometimes we do need a tea spoon - for any yoghurt or to put sugar and coffee you buy as hotel gives limited in room.

The Hotel is outstanding and in a good location for someone seeking a good rest. The staff, with a pleasant attitude, gives service and support 24/7, whether Monday or Sunday. The staff is taking care of all Hotel matters immediately and giving guests a satisfactory feeling.

A few minor remarks for future improvement. The Hotel has two elevators, and the old one has steel doors on each floor. Those doors are very noisy when opening and closing. The Hotel is super quiet, and those elevator doors are super loud. I do not recommend booking a room anywhere near the old elevator unless someone does not mind. There are places where the carpet should be replaced. The Hotel could acquire a sauna (which is not available).

If you're making the crossing to Morocco for adventure this is the only place to stay. The lobby and bar is often filled with similar folks and the car park has lots of bikes coming back or just about to set out, not to mention 4x4s and other whacky racer type vehicles. The bar staff are friendly and fun. There is beer and cheap but good wine if you wanna have one last night before you go somewhere without alcohol. The car park is safe and the place is 2 mins from the ferries. Good Wifi Nice, helpful staff at reception and even the cleaning staff are helpful and friendly This time my room was wonderful. I had a little balcony and an amazing bathroom and the bed was so comfortable... But...

The previous time I stayed (a few weeks ago), the room was quite tired. This time my room was great, but last time, it was shabby.. The shower didn't get hot and I couldn't get it to the right angle. So I think if you're lucky, you get a nicer, better maintained room, but some feel older. And I think it's just a question of capacity and luck.

The hotel was lovely, the rooms were spacious, the outdoor pool was great. Food was also nice and varied. The staff in the restaurant were lovely, I think it was the restaurant manager he greeted us every night with a huge smile and was so kind and welcoming.

The only complaint I have is that there was no kettle in the room to make a brew and the indoor pool was closed. Thankfully the weather was nice enough to go in the outdoor pool.

Nostalgic old hotel. Absolutely fantastic evening buffet with possibly the friendliest staff member we have ever encountered. As non Spanish speakers he made an effort to help us and with a fantastic friendly disposition that made our evening memorable.

As with other Spanish hotels we stayed in. No coffee facilities in the room. Had to wait till 9am for our first cup of caffeine. Its an old hotel so the room did feel a bit dated but served its purpose.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food either an all you can eat buffet for breakfast or a set menu evening meal ( bar snacks also available) was generally of a good standard. The Hotel has old world charm with the staff doing their best to ensure you have a pleasant stay.A great place to chill and relax after a hectic day but also convenient for the town on the port.
