The bed was super comfortable. We had a triple room. Convenient outlets by each bed. Good hot shower. The building seems somewhat new with traditional Spanish style.

Check in is a bit lengthy since you must wait your turn at the albergue bar in order to get a key. The line of people getting coffee and beat can be long. There was a nespresso maker in the hotel lobby but it wasn’t kept stocked so there was no water, sugar, or milk in the morning. I had asked about the coffee replenishment the day before and was told it would be taken care of before the morning. It was not. I had to go wait in the long line at the bar and buy cafe con leche.

Lovely guesthouse affiliated with the main bar/restaurant in town (check in there). Room was clean and overlooked the terrace. Good shower and wifi worked once connected downstairs. Complimentary coffee and tea service in the guesthouse lounge was appreciated. Dinner can be booked for the restaurant 50m up the road and breakfast at the bar from 6ish.

We are two cyclists on a ride from Cadiz to San Sebastian. Our needs are simple we seek a clean bed and a hot shower – the hotel provided both Reception was welcoming and helpful in the local Bar – The owners run a restaurant, a bar , some rooms and a small 5 room hostel down the street – The welcome was personal and friendly – The rooms had hot showers and the restaurant was as expected - a wholesome plate of local meat and potatoes – perfect for the cyclist in the mountains

Villa Fontanas is a lovely place to stay. The decor is fab.. Our room and en suite was finished to perfection. It's a great location when walking the French Camino. There is a garden out back to sit and enjoy the sun. Also a coffee station downstairs. Check-in and meals are in an Albergue located a few steps up the street. Staff here are friendly and helpful. Food and drinks are good and reasonably priced.

Staff v. helpful and friendly. Room was private in own area with nice reception area. On the Camino. Links with nearby cafe - good pilgrim's menu and breakfast. Hottanas a nice village to stay at.

Was v. cold when we were there (end of april) and had to ask a couple of times to put heating on ( then nice and warm)

CUTE hotel! Rooms are well decorated, clean, and comfortable. Bathroom is spotless. Very tastefully decorated. Check-in, at least for now, is st their sister-property “El puntido” - you may as well make a dinner reservation when you check in. They will also wash/dry your laundry (fee) - highly convenient. Right on the Camino de Santiago.

it was well located in a quaint little town. There was a communal sitting area with free milk, tea and coffee, as well as a little outdoor seating. Their other business close by provided breakfast, lunch and dinner. for 14 euro the pilgrim ‘type’ meal with wine was quite tasty. I would highly recommend this place and village.

The room and hotel were so cute and comfortable. It was a great value compared to other rural hotels we stayed in, and Hontanas was a beautiful stop in northern Spain. The attention to detail was appreciated.

You can tell they care. The place was full of lovely details, and it felt like home. The downstairs area was with free coffee and tea. The room and bathroom were very big, the only bad thing I had to leave early that day would have loved to enjoy it much longer. Breakfast included too very delicious

The building has been beautifully renovated and rooms are very comfortable. I stayed in an attic room and loved the character. The meals were hearty and delicious. our hosts could not have been more accommodating, too!

We had a problem with the plumbing, the the hosts took care of it immediately.
