This was a great stay. I had a handicapped room on the first floor which was separated from the lobby and dining room by a couple of doors, so it was nice and quiet. This place seemed like the only game in town. I stayed in the hotel portion (as opposed to the bunk section next door), but everyone I talked to was very pleased with their accommodation too. They served a group pilgrim's dinner which was served with "buen camino" and humor and really set people up for a good time. Also, during my stay, I saw the proprietor give a lady a ride to the next town. She was exhausted and couldn't walk any more for the day, but her bag and reservation were in the next town. When he couldn't get her a taxi, he waited until things slowed down and then took her himself. Where I'm from, we call this "aloha" and that's what this place has!
All good!

Location great for Camino travellers. Clean. Modern and a really nice Pilgrims meal. Bar area and my bed room had a modern and clean bathroom. Staff we’re nice too.
I visited in April and on the day I arrived there was a massive rain storm. Would have been lovely to have had a place to dry clothing and especially walking boots. The radiators in the room were cold ( the thermostat on the wall read 21) but no heating came on all night. I wasn’t cold as the bed was lovely etc but when I asked about heating to dry clothes I was told there was under floor heating. Sorry I felt the floor… no heat in my room. A place for drying boots would have been brilliant.

The Hotel was very well located close to the Camino. Our private room was spacious and we had all we needed after a day's walk on the Camino. They had a huge coverd and non covered patio with tables to drink and/or eat something from the bar. A huge cloth line was nearby where you could hang your washed clothes. They provided us with a communal meal in the evening at the cost of Euro 19, which was very much appreciated. The staff worked hard to make us comfortable. We liked that they started serving breakfast at 6:00am so we could start our walk early.

This property is managed by a lovely family. They are caring, considerate and go out of their way to support you. The hotel is clean, comfortable and modern. The beds are comfortable and the showers are hot with good pressure. We enjoyed the quality and variety of the meals and Jesus always provided friendly meal service; facilitating connection between pilgrims. Eduardo provides attentive service at the bar and anything else you need. We are grateful to “Saint Eduardo” for collecting us and our bikes from Itero de la Vega when we ran out of daylight and energy cycling into the head wind of Storm Ciarán.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Exceptional host, very efficient and friendly, gave us the key to our room while he checked in a large group and told us we could register later. A very kind man who remembered my name for the rest of our stay. All the staff were efficient and friendly. Our room was perfect, clean modern and bright with a fantastic shower and bathroom. Dinner that evening was delicious, best we have had in Spain with a great atmosphere. Breakfast next morning was very good and served quickly. This hotel is a marvel not only for the facilities which are second to none but also the staff.I have no hesitation in recommending it and look forward to coming back again when time permits.

Fantastic facility. After walking 20kms in pelting down rain and whipping cold winds I was really glad to get inside and to a nice hotel as this. Very impressive. It seems there is staff shortage here in Spain too. It was very busy when I arrived and got checked in after a bit of wait. Checkin was rushed and not all the questions I had were explained properly. It doesn’t matter how many times one has to repeat same answers to new guests coming in to the hotel throughout the day, for each guest it is her/his first time entering the premise, so should be treated as such. Pilgrims dinner was affordable snd very delicious.

The Camino spirit is alive at this property! The family owned and operated hotel AND Albergues are the hardest working ever people. They ensure every single guest is cared for with a smile. Arrangements for a taxi were made for us the following day, in this small town a family member was called to take us to our next stage on the Camino. Above and beyond service and will recommend this property to fellow Pilgrims!

Hotel Rural En El Camino was one of the highlights of our journey. We stayed for one night in mid-May and when we arrived the lobby was filled, shoulder-to-shoulder with pilgrims hoping to find a place to sleep. We had a reservation for a private room with a view of the church (with stork nest) directly across the street and the beautifully carved medieval stone column. The host, Eduardo, was an exemplar of Camino Hospitaleros. His hospitality included finding make-shift beds for many of the unexpected pilgrims lacking a place to spend the night. He even took two families to his own home for the night. Due to the exceptional crowding (he told us it was the largest ever) he tossed us the keys to our room and asked us to check in later. Eduardo said that in spring 2023 there were 20% more pilgrims than ever since many had delayed their Camino walk due to COVID. The hotel decor was classy - the artwork is beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable, the attached restaurant and courtyard were inviting and the communal meal was one of the very best we had had during our entire walk and well worth the price. Breakfast was also excellent.

Great welcome, very friendly hosts. No problem checking in early. Spotlessly clean. Lovely bedroom with nice ensuite. Large, comfortable dining and bar areas.
It would have definitely been an excellent 10. Except ... The only choice for evening meal was a communal Pilgrim's meal on a great big long table. And there was nowhere else in the town to eat. And no shops at all to buy food. I can't be the only introvert (and even worse vegetarian) traveller who really doesn't enjoy these big sit down meals. Even if they are classed as 'Part of the experience'? I was pretty tired and although very hungry and with nothing to eat, I skipped this one. So one unsociable, hungry pilgrim setting off next morning to get breakfast asap. 🥴😉🤣.

Everything. We had a rainy and extremely windy day on the Camino and had a warm reception. Lobby bar was friendly! Heat in the room! The communal dinner was excellent. Super helpful in storing our bikes overnight. Quiet and a nice view of the church and stork nests from our room.
I'd have liked and would have been willing to pay for a full breakfast.
