On a misty damp evening, we arrived at the Osbarena Hotela feeling very tired after a 5 - 6 hour drive. Our host, the lady owner was very nice and very welcoming to us. It was a very pretty old stonework building (originally a farm-house) with similar buildings all around. Very quaint and beautiful - nestled in the picturesque national park which we had driven through on our way there. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a lovely ensuite bathroom, toiletries etc. I would happily give Osbarena a much higher star rating.

Just one thing !! As there was no where to have dinner on site, the lady tried to assist by recommending the nearby town Laudio/Llodio and a bar/restaurant called Bar Laurak. This was a very bad choice. The food was terrible and service not much better. So, I recommend the Osbarena Hotela...... but not this bar.

We stayed here for a night on our way back to Ireland from Spain. The hotel is in a small hamlet about 30 mins from Bilbao port so it's an ideal location for anyone catching the morning ferry The studio was huge and very well equipped. It was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately the restaurant was not open. My wife was in a wheelchair with a broken ankle, but our host ordered take out food from a restaurant in the nearby town of Zubiaur.

Rural hotel half hour outside Bilbao in a place called Orozko. But it's an excellent one. The room was clean and spacious, surroundings are fabulous and the owners were kind and made us feel welcomed. Modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. For breakfast we chose the top option and it was a smart choice, with a good coffe, an orange juice, some fresh croissants and some tasty fruits. Just amazing.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable. We also decided to have an evening meal, which was nicely cooked. Hosts were very friendly and the setting was convenient but also very quiet. It is more expensive than some places in the area, but the price reflects the room and bathroom size, toiletries etc and the investment in the building that is obviously made on a regular basis. Parking is outside in the road, but felt secure as it is in a tucked away hamlet. Look forward to a return visit to really appreciate this little gem

I love walking up in the morning with this beautiful view. There is a 5 min by car location, Laudio, where you can find delicious restaurants and very affordable for us Dutch people. The bedroom and bathroom are spacious and clean. You get a necessity package for the bathroom, the glasses are wrapped up, so you know it's clean. For breakfast, you get 3 options, a quick meal, a light meal, and a healthy meal. There's an elevator to go to the top floor, which is nice since we had a lot of baggage with us. There is free parking in front of the hotel. The air here is so nice and clean.

A warm welcome to a lovely property with history. Room comfortable clean and a huge shower. A very good place to stay enroute to Bilbao. Check to see if food available as required pre booking. Host very welcoming.

Can’t say anything I disliked but a word of warning. Take the right hand ramp BEFORE the toll at exit 3 because if you miss it it’s a hair raising experience driving over the mountain. No tea / coffee making facility but I always take mine anyway. As it comes in handy on the ferry.

A fabulous family run hotel, it was exceptionally clean and welcoming. The staff were very helpful. There seems to be a discrepancy to the star rating given to this hotel and what you actually get, my view it is two stars higher than advertised.

There was nothing not to like about this hotel. The service and meals available we excellent.

Convenient for the motorway. Beautiful location in a pretty hamlet. Lovely modernised old farmhouse with lift to all floors Very friendly and welcoming owner who spoke excellent English. Lovely room with very comfortable bed.

The "cafeteria" menu is limited though the steak and chips we had was very nice. The basic breakfast (€4 each) was perhaps a bit too basic: one slice of toast cut in two with jam and butter and/or oil and salt and a small hot drink. Would have preferred a walk-in shower rather than sunken bath with overhead shower which was difficult to get in and out of, though there was a grab rail.

Everything. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean and beautifully decorated. The bed is very comfortable. The owners are very friendly and caring and they make you feel welcome indeed! For breakfast (simple, but with quality) they have three options, with three different prices (7, 10, 12 euro). If I will be in the area again, for sure I will go back.

A regular stop for my wife and I en route to the Costa Blanca, always welcoming and comfortable stay in wonderful surroundings, easy to get to , Evening meal and breakfast always tasty

We cant fault this Hotel, if you want rural Basque, with spectacular scenery then this is first choice
