I liked almost everything: from the wonderful staff who went out of their way to help me with an issue I had with my phone charger to the beautiful rooms to the outstanding surroundings. Add to that the proximity to one of the best spas in Sri Lanka, an excellent breakfast, and a reasonable price for what you receive, and you get yourself a winner.

This is not what I didn’t like but what visitors should keep in mind: the place is away from the city; so I wish they had more vegetarian options for dinner. That’s all.

The resort is beautiful, situated inside a forest with only a few very cool places te sleep. The sleeping buildings were clean, comfortable and big. Sitting ont he porch of our ‘room’ we could see a lot of animals in de forest, especially birds. The staff was very nice (and even made a special breakfast take-out for us when we wanted to get up early to see the sunrise!).

If i need to give some negatives: When it us windy the tree next to our house sometimes hit the roof, which made a lot of noise. Furthermore there was a lot of light in the room early in the morning. However, this was not that big of a deal for us!

During my trip to Polonnaruwa, my car broke down in Habarana, forcing me to stay overnight. I booked a room at Gabaa Resort, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience despite the unexpected situation. The staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help me find a reliable garage and get my car fixed promptly. The room was clean and comfortable, providing much-needed relaxation. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, exceeding my expectations. Though my stay was brief, the exceptional service and hospitality left a lasting impression. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

The pool, occasionally visited by critters, offered a refreshing dip. Despite higher food prices due to the location, the meals were well-prepared and satisfying. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Gabaa Resort & Spa in Habarana, and it was an unforgettable experience. The cabins are extremely beautiful and impeccably clean, featuring very comfortable mattresses and an abundance of cozy pillows. The attention to detail is impressive, with thoughtful touches like a humidifier and lovely decorations that enhance the overall ambiance. The pool and garden areas are serene and quiet, providing a perfect retreat for relaxation. The breakfast is incredible, offering a variety of both Sri Lankan and Western options that are plentiful and delicious. I also enjoyed lunch and dinner at the resort, and the food was always varied, tasty, and not too spicy, which I appreciated. I indulged in the spa services, opting for a 3-hour massage that included a steam sauna, shower, and facial. It was a delightful and unique experience that left me feeling rejuvenated. The staff at Gabaa Resort & Spa are exceptionally helpful, kind, and welcoming. They truly make you feel at home and are always available in case you need anything. Despite arriving late, I was warmly greeted with tea and flowers, and upon departure, I received a thoughtful gift which I truly appreciated. My stay was a perfect 10, and I wholeheartedly recommend Gabaa Resort & Spa to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway in Habarana.

It is more beautiful a place than the pictures-if that’s possible! We spent 3 days, one just relaxing in the premises and we don’t think we can get over it! The people working are really helpful, really kind and provide you with anything you need. From their welcome until their tips for our departure, they were tireless and obliging. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Also, they can arrange any visit in the nearby monuments and cities with excellent service. Bonus for us: on the day of our departure monkeys were playing outside our room, which we enjoyed so much. Can’t recommend it enough!!!!!

Very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast options, clean rooms.

The room was quite noisy due to animals on the roof, and dinner prices seemed a bit overpriced. The biggest letdown was the misleading name, suggesting an in-house spa. Instead, the spa is next door, and while the staff are friendly and help arrange appointments, I expected a spa on-site, complete with bathrobes and a relaxing atmosphere. Walking across the street in a bikini for a massage wasn't ideal.

I had a wonderful stay at Gabaa Resort Habarana. The staff service was excellent; they were incredibly friendly and provided outstanding hospitality. The food served was authentic and delivered with personal care. One highlight of the resort is the spa, which is not to be missed. It was, by far, the best spa experience I've ever had. I indulged in a two-hour treatment, and the price was very reasonable. The experience was incredibly soothing and professional.

We stayed at Gabaa Resort for 5 nights with our 3 boys. The cabin was spacious with a very well functioning air conditioning. The cabin had a nice outdoor bathroom and a deck with seats. The staff was amazing, very helpfull and hospitable. The staff was very dedicated to making our stay the best they could. When arriving late in the evening, they prepared a meal for us, bringing it to our room. Prabath is a very good chef. Every morning Prabath would ask if we would like to have dinner and at what time and what we would like to have, also suggesting fine Sri Lankan dishes. As our boys are somewhat of difficult eaters, Prabath would meet their every wish. The other staff was also very helpfull and even sometimes took our youngst (1 year old) from our hands so we could eat peacefully, while the youngest wanted to walk around. The swimming pool is fantastic in the garden. We had an amazing stay thanks to Prabath and his staff!
