Nalaka and Denis are wonderful hosts. They have built a lovely stay where you feel at home. They can arrange a boat tour, a taxi, and an Ayurvedic treatment. They also run a bistro (Centella Bistro) where we had our first Introduction to Sri Lankan curries. Nalaka is very passionate about his cats and dogs he rescued from the streets; it's heartwarming to see how well he treats them and how much they adore him. There is no need to worry: All cats and dogs are vaccinated for Rabies and they won't bite. The breakfast is also nice: we got yoghurt with honey, fruits, fresh bread, jam, and eggs.

The most modern and incredible place we stayed in our time in Sri Lanka. What a way to finish our tour. Beds super comfy. Incredible bathroom with electric shower with an actual screen (not done in Sri Lanka). Hand towels each as well as bath towel (again not done in Sri Lanka). Really kind and lovely manager. So close to restaurants, bars, shops and the beach. Beautiful view over the lagoon. Was worried about the cats and dogs mentioned in reviews but are super cute and not at all overwhelming.

Needed more time to experience the absolutely beautiful swimming pool and incredible breakfast setting!

Attractive hotel in Negombo with stylish bedroom and poolside area. The owners were friendly and helpful with things to do and where to eat. I was in need of a break from travelling around and wasn't a fan of the beach so it was really good to have the pool. The pool area was kept clean and nice touches like flowers and buddha statue.

Nothing the hotel can do about it and I mentioned it to one of the owners but walking back at night you need to be aware of yourself as there is very bad street lighting. It is only one street parallel from the main street but I was asked for money in the dark by a man twice which felt a bit threatening and was unplesant on my own.

This was our last destination in Sri Lanka and really made it hard to leave The place itself is lovely, with a nice pool area and spacious clean rooms. The owner was very welcoming, and he spent time chatting with us and explaining how he dedicates part of his life to rescue local cats and dogs. There were a lot of rescue cats there, which made our staying even more pleasant. The Villa is close to the centre and you can find loads of restaurants and cafes nearby and also Brown beach is just a few minutes away. He also owns a restaurant not far away,which was also a good find. Would highly recommend!

Everything. Facilities and room were super modern and comfortable. We had the best night sleep ever, the night before our flight. Kettle, hot shower, blankets, lamps - everything was well thought out. Lots of nice hangout spots to read a book and chill. They even helped us dry our laundry in time for checkout! Cute rescue dogs and cats, and the owners were so lovely. Breakfast in the morning was a treat too! Definitely stay here when you’re in Negombo.

Gorgeous little place tucked away in negombo. Nilashi (part owner) is an amazing human caring for all the dogs & cats he has rescued. (They were half the reason I booked 😄). Dennis (part owner) very kindly advised my route to weligama. All the staff are helpful and kind. Make sure to check out their restaurant down the road! A breakfast was also prepared for me to take away as i left early (the omlette sandwhich was delicious!). Sociable and welcoming place, I felt very comfortable as a solo woman. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Staying here was a great start of my trip. The owners, a sri-lankan and an Irish man, are both really nice people and always ready to help and give advice. The rest of the staff is also really nice and attentive. The villa itself is decorated in a lovely way; There are plants everywhere, a nice pool, and a stone-buddha statue - all in all it adds up to a nice, lowkey atmosphere. The villa is not a five star hotel where everything is new, and you can see that in some places, but to me that kind of added to the charme. One more thing you should know is that there are a lot of cats and a dog (all rescued from the streets) - personally I liked that, but it is something to take into consideration and maybe not everyone´s cup of tea. Breakfast was amazing! Three more tips: +Get a "dialog"-sim card right at the airport and one of the data-plans (i took the tourist plan for all in all ~8dollars ). Reception has been good for me so far, and the mobile internet is often better than the wifi in your accomodations. + if you want to save a bit of money, don´t take a taxi at the airport counter, walk outside 3 minutes and you´ll be at the uber/pick-me point where you can catch a ride for half the money + the owners of Villa Kapuru also have a restaurant close by ("Centella" if I remember correctly). Go and eat there - the curry was one of the best (if not the best) I have ever eaten. All in all, if you´re looking for a nice place relatively close to the airport, with a bit of a lowkey, personal atmosphere, and you don´t mind animals, this will be a good place for you to start/end your journey!

Room was generally good, but I think I was a bit unlucky with the balcony. It had a nice view on the canal but wasn´t really private, as it was kind of connected to the common area. Wifi was okay, but a bit slow sometimes (but my experience is it is like that in most places here)

The distance to the beach and access to a pool in hot weather was great. I liked that there was a safe in the room to lock away our important documents etc. The staff were also so friendly and helped us arrange a taxi for a long distance with a driver that they trusted which was important to us as two girls.

There was a mould issue in our room which smelt quite strong but for the price of the stay in such a rainy country you really can’t complain. Although I felt very safe, it would be ideal to add some stronger locks to the patio doors on the ground floor in the room as we had to use our own.

We loved this place, it’s hidden away down a back street away from the Main Street and a little further out from the chaos of negombo… this is an advantage. Tuk Tuks are on hand to take you anywhere very cheap. Lots of Restaurants within walking distance. We had a pool view which was great but we used to sit on the back veranda watching the wonderful and diverse wildlife on the canal. All rooms would be a great option. Breakfast was one of the best we had on our whole trip. Book it you won’t be disappointed.

Everything was perfect, we only had two nights and could have stayed much longer.

A lovely place to stay for four days at the end of our trip. The pool was clean and had a little bit of shade. Our pool view balcony room was comfortable and cleaned halfway through our stay. Breakfast was good, choice of eggs, nice bread, fruit and curd with honey. Location is good, about a 5 minute walk to the main road where there are lots of shops and restaurants. We'd stay here again.

The bathroom had a horrible mouldy shower curtain. Apart from that, it was fine. There are lots of rescued cats at the villa and two well behaved dogs. Not a problem for us but might be for some.
