The apartment is lovely if a bit small for four adults (only one bathroom). The terrace overlooking the lake is the huge selling point for this place but unfortunately we didn't get used it much due to the weather. Breakfast was wonderful, stocked with many of the things that make swiss breakfasts so amazing - several varieties of fresh bread and rolls, fruit, eggs, and muesli.

We didn't think the apartment was stocked well enough. There wasn't a sharp knife or a corkscrew and there were no dish towels to clean dishes that we had used. They were helpful about providing things when we asked, but they should be in the apartment.

Truly, the best parts of this nice little inn are the location and the breakfast. The location, set a short way up from Interlaken is far enough to be out of the bustle of the town, but close enough to use the free bus pass they provide to get to Interlaken in minutes. It’s on the lake, which provides stunning views (unless there’s fog) of Lake Brienz with a common area patio available for all. The breakfast is comprehensive and very tasty. When we were there they had Swiss specialties like the blend of “yogurt, fruit and muesli,” smoked salmon, hard boiled eggs, all manner of cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, and fruit. There’s no denying that food in general in Switzerland is outrageously expensive and mediocre- so this place stands out because it gets the guests out the door for the day with full and happy bellies. Note: very easy and plentiful free parking. Great for traveling with a car.

We stayed on the non lake side (no balcony in our room) and our room was quite small for two guys. Note: balcony rooms are a bit more expensive.

As a frequent traveler, I can endorse this hotel as simply exceptional! The location and view of Lake Brienz from the room windows were breathtakingly gorgeous and unbeatable! The staff was the friendliest I have experienced in the last 16 years of traveling across Europe! Thank you so much for your warm hospitality and home-like environment! The rooms were sparkling clean and modern, and the breakfast was perfect. Waking up to the stunning autumn view of Lake Brienz and the mountains was therapeutic! The hotel is in the charming village Ringgenberg, only 5 mins' drive away from Interlaken and 20-30 mins away from Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. I would love to visit again in summers.

The view of the lake in the morning was beautiful - just a serene hideaway close to the Swiss alps. Breakfast was included and there was a good selection of items. Staff was extremely helpful, answered questions and transportation and activities, and gave recommendations to nearby destinations.

Pricing: The price was a bit high, but that is generally true in any part of Switzerland due to the exchange rate. Environment: There could have been more directions to the hotel: it was a bit off the main road and the pathway was not lit well. Room: The bathroom had a slightly musty smell - this could be attributed to the age of the hotel. The keys were also physical rather than the typical room keys. A sort of old-fashioned charm, if you will. Transportation: It is a bit farther away from the Interlaken Rail Station (Ost/East) - about 15 minutes by bus. The ferry unfortunately only ran once a day because on the winter schedule.

This place was wonderful!!!! It's a short walk from the Ringgenberg train station (temporarily out of commission due to flooding in the nearby town of Brienz) and a doable walk from the special EV bus stop that's running until the train is working again. The staff and property couldn't have been nicer. The building is modern and clean with drop dead gorgeous views of Lake Brienz from the dining area and lakeside rooms. My lakeside single room with balcony was smallish, but perfect for my needs. The bathroom was more than adequate. Plenty of outlets for charging devices, a comfortable bed, and a desk were provided along with balcony seating. The lift goes to the third floor, I needed to go up one flight of stairs for my 4th floor room which was not an issue. Breakfast provisions were more than ample and tasty. I believe they even had items for other ethnic diets, but for me when in Switzerland eat like the Swiss! Luggage storage was kindly provided so that I could extend my stay in this beautiful area past check out time. Property photos were accurate. Take the short walk to visit the church on the small hill beside the lake that's built into a castle ruin. Quiet Ringgenberg was a welcomed alternative to the busyness of nearby Interlaken. When in the area I'll be looking to stay here again.

This place was wonderful!

The hotel is located at Ringgenberg, which can be easily accessed using bus 102 from Interlaken OST. From the bus stop, it takes about 5 mins walk to reach the hotel. Alternatively, you can also take train from Ringgenberg-Interlaken, but the frequency is every hour. This is the hotel that offers the most beautiful view in my entire Swiss trip. The balcony overlook Brienzersee lake, with a few famous peak as back drop. We bought some food and wine, just sat at the balcony and enjoyed the view for hours. What’s more, our room, at the top floor, comes with a sunroof over the bed. You can absolutely star gazing till you fall asleep. The hotel offers standard breakfast and also some paid services like laundry.

The elevator only goes up to Level 3. So if you’re like us, staying at Level 4, be prepared to carry your luggages to your room via the staircase.

The staff and host were so friendly and made us feel at home. The place is peaceful, immaculately clean and full of warmth. The breakfast was wholesome and delicious due to the fresh ingredients. The rooms and the hotel overlook the beautiful lake and mountains. The toilet has a bidet installed. The hotel is conveniently accessed via public transportation and just a 2 minute walk from the nearest bus stop.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has fantastic views from the deck and breakfast room of the lake. They have a bar on site, so you can have drinks on the deck. They even have light lunch snacks like grilled sandwich or small pizza. There is a small elevator just off the loby big enough for 2 persons and 2 carry-ons. We had the "small" room, but it was still very comfortable. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Ringgenberg-Post bus stop. If you arrive by rail, you can take the 102 bus from Interlaken Ost to save a hefty taxi fee. If the times work out, you can also take a local train (R70) once an hour for one stop from Interlaken Ost to Ringgenberg station, which is a 4-5 minute walk from the hotel

The breakfast was a little disappointing. Although we were pleasantly surprised to find waffles and syrup available, which we had not seen at any other hotel in our 3 weeks of travel across Europe, we were sad that the only form of eggs available were raw eggs and a boiling water bath with instructions for how long to cook them for soft, medium, and hard.

beautiful views and nice quiet location. only 5 minute bus ride to Interlaken OST. was hesitant to stay outside of town, but was so glad we did! easy and close transportation with regular frequent schedules. the hotel is so relaxing and right near boat dock. highly recommend.

we missed the Hotel Brienzersee sign on the main street so took a little longer walk from the bus stop. Watch for the sign! Also, limited restaurants if you don’t have a car, but we bought food at the market and ate on our balcony; one night we had pizza delivered.

Hotel Brienzersee boasts a dream location with stunning views of the lake and mountains. The staff was friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast, which had a great variety of delicious options.

The furniture in our room felt a bit outdated and didn’t match the cozy mountain vibe of the hotel. It would have been nicer to have more cottage-style decor instead of the black furniture that seemed to be from the '90s. This made the room feel less inviting than it could have been.
