good value for money. they had a really nice backyard space and a balcony overlooking it. what was also good was the complementary cold and hot water always available plus microwave and cutlery facilities. we booked a 4 bedroom dorm for two beds and ended up being the only two people in the room across the three nights we booked, which was a bonus! there was even a band event one night in the courtyard which was random but really fun to watch

check in was at 4pm which felt a bit late. the bathtub didn’t have a plug so you couldn’t use it as a bath. there was only J type power plugs in the room but i asked reception for a C type converter and they supplied one for us to borrow straight away. the wifi dropped in and out every now and then but it was still manageable

The property is “Very” beautiful! It has got lots of stuffs to do and the check-in is real quick and easy, although booking.com mentions the check-in time starts at 5:00pm but I was able to get the check-in an hour before without even informing, the dude at the reception is very cool! I read some earlier reviews about the hostel that the receptionists are a tough thing but now i think they’ve changed because he was very fun! The bunks are really big like really really big for a single person. They too provide you city travel card which u can use for buses for free! It is just 2km away from Interlaken Ost station so either you can go on by foot or take a bus and the mountain views from the rooms are crazy even backpackers get a balcony here and a small mini kitchen kind off a thing!

It was all good didn’t find anything gone wrong

We booked two beds in a 6-8 person room and were surprised to learn that we were upgraded to our own double room! The receptionists were all very nice and helpful. Huge plus for me were the friendly dog and cat in the lobby. We all did laundry there; it was 5 CHF for washing (drying for free). The laundry machine is smaller than normal, but I was able to fit what I needed to (but not big jackets). The bar seems lively, but our room didn’t hear any noise at night, so sleep was good.

There were no hooks or soap holders in the shower, so you’d need to find somewhere to put your towels during your showers, but the bathroom seemed newly renovated and well lit. The bathroom door didn’t have a great seal but it was alright.

I love the place! I think it is the cheapest ones in the area (my friends have previously stayed in the hostel due to the price) and it exceeded my expectations! Really great service and great accesibilities (to train st, groceries, etc). The staffs are nice and I was happy I could put my luggage when I asked before I came, then turns out my room is already ready from when I checked in. The view from the room is also ah so beautiful. There's a lovely little balcony in my room too. I also adore the dog and the cat! Greeted with these lovely animals after long hike. All my tiredness instantly gone! 😂 such a heaven for animal lovers

The internet is a bit hard to access in my room..great near the lobby but there's only certain spots to get the wifi reach from my room

We arrived at 11 :30 a.m. and thought we'll just drop off luggage, but room was ready so they allowed us to check in early! Building is old but room and washroom very spacious, had a balcony and stunning view. Located between the 2 train stations, bus stop right at corner ( about 15 mins. walk to Interlaken Ost if can't wait for bus that comes every 30 mins.) Friendly staff. In ground floor there's microwave, hot water, disposable plates and cutleries so we were able to save by having a few meals in the big table in the room. Room was clean.

Only one outlet to charge devices, but then this is an old building.

My stay at Funny Farm Backpackers was nothing less than perfect. I love the location of the Hotel/Hostel. It is also strategically located in the quiet areas of Interlaken. You can access almost everything from the Hostel in the blink of your eyes. The supermarket COOP and many cafes, restaurants, and Bistros are within a few metres of Funny Farm Backpackers, making my stay very comfortable. I also love the shared lounge of Funny Farm Backpackers. Ordering Coffee, Having some sweet dishes or ordering drinks is convenient. I strongly recommend Funny Farm Backpackers for any avid travellers.

Ignore other reviews, if you are here for an authentic budget backpacking experience look no further. This hostel is in a beautiful classic building, has amazing friendly and fun staff who went out of their way to add to our trip, great late night vibes and the lobby is even home to a lovely big St Bernard named Kai.

Building is clearly old and carrying some wear n tear and the bunk beds aren't the comfiest but it's a hostel for Christ's sake 😅 and still the most budget friendly place in Interlaken to stay. If you can get past that then you will have an amazing time here

The view from our room was insane! We almost didn't want to leave because we could look at the mountains right from our balcony. The room was also okay-sized, not very huge but it worked for us. The beds were comfortable and we had a kettle in the room, which was appreciated. There was a bar and dining room downstairs with a microwave and coffee machine. Overall, a decent stay given the exorbitant prices in Interlaken.

The bathroom sink tap was very oddly placed. Since it was a tiny space and sink, it almost used to flood the floor when we washed our hands or face. Also, the shower had a transparent window to the room. I guess it's nice if you want to shower with a view but it could get awkward depending on who you're travelling with.

Well, many things.. I was back from the Country Music Festival and I had to walk a bit... but then wenn I arrived there I was welcomed by a St-Bernard Dog, then the check-IN was very fast and easy. A big screen was downstairs to watch the Europa Cup with a bar next to it. There is a lift which is very usefull wenn we have heavy luggages. There is a Nightclub downstairs with very good music. The staff was friendly. The Hostel/Hotel is located the same distance from Interlaken Ost or West. I enjoyed my time there.

The safe in the rooms are too small and I could not put my lock ON because the hole was too small. I'm sure this can be fixed!

View: The scenery of the double room is incredibly stunning!! I enjoyed spending time on the balcony and watching the sunset, mountains and the snow-capped mountains. It gave me a most soothing and enjoyable atmosphere during my time in Switzerland. I had thought Interlaken would be a boring city and thought this hostel was a bit far from Interlaken Ost/West Station (for us, a 15-minute walk is acceptable. And it was a wonderful time, especially in Interlaken. We were chatting while enjoying and taking pictures of the scenery!) However, the traffic was beyond my expectations. It is convenient to get to Interlaken Station. ps. You'll get a free bus travel card whilst you arrive at the hostel. Staff: The receptionist is friendly :) Room: I would say it was definitely better than I expected from the pictures I saw on booking.com. It is worth the price.

The charging hole is a bit old and loose. Better to get a new one.
