clean and comfortable rooms, large swimming-pool and great sauna facilities, good restaurant and excellent location

It’s a well ran hotel with nice facilities. Impressive spa and swimming pool. Breakfast is very nice, coffee is good, so as dinners. Service and staffs are impeccable, WhatsApp communication has been sooth and efficient. Room is big with a massive balcony. Location wise, Matterhorn is at our window straight away. Fantastic view! For skiers, it sits just above sunnega station with some stairs leading down to the train uphill. Overall Zermatt is not friendly enough to skiers as you need to walk / climb a lot carrying skis in ski boots. The hotel has made the best out from what the city offers.

The bathroom is too small

Our 6-night stay at Christiania Mountain and Spa Resort exceeded all expectations. The hotel's location is ideal - just 100m from the funicular, making ski access incredibly convenient. The room was immaculately clean and offered stunning views of the Matterhorn. The attention to cleanliness throughout the property was impressive, with spotless common areas and facilities. The dining experience was a highlight. Both breakfast and dinner were excellent, featuring high-quality, tasty offerings. The bar area with its fireplace provided a cozy atmosphere perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. The wellness facilities are comprehensive and well-maintained. We particularly enjoyed the spa, swimming pool, gym, and sauna - all of which were in pristine condition. What truly sets this property apart is the impeccable service. The staff's hospitality and personable approach made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our stay. Perfect for both winter sports enthusiasts and those seeking a luxurious mountain retreat. Would highly recommend for the stunning views, excellent facilities and outstanding service.

I don't write hotel reviews very often, but I can't help but praise the friendliness I encountered at this hotel. The entire staff at the hotel was kind, friendly, smiling and willing to help with anything we needed. The next time I visit Zermatt, I have a clear idea where I will return. The room, pool, saunas, etc. were all very well maintained (i.e., like new)! The staff was helpful/pleasant. The building was very well maintained, etc. This is truly a 5-star experience! We had a room with a view of the Matterhorn which was incredible!

There was nothing about this hotel that I didn't enjoy/know before booking. I purposely made the trade-off of ski/on-ski/off for close proximity to downtown shopping/dining. The walk to the ski was short and included several flights of stairs to get down to the lift. There is also a walk to the Sunnega

Dinner on the terrace was sensational! Not only were the surroundings amazing, but the wait staff was attentive, friendly (shout out to Christian!), and knowledgeable. We also payed for a mountain view room, and it was worth every penny to sit on the balcony in the mornings and evenings!

The only negative was that the bed was super firm and the pillows were too soft. However, that was the case in every hotel during our trip, so may just be a Swiss thing? The hotel was kind enough to bring us firm/thicker pillows when requested!

The hotel was absolutely wonderful. You could see the effort that each and every staff (including the young restaurant waiters, the young girl at the pool, the restaurant managers for breakfast and dinner, and the reception) put into to make the stay as wonderful as possible. Breakfasts and dinners at the hotel was amazing and 100% recommended - the food and view is unparalleled. Wasnt aware that there was a weekly Saturday BBQ - would have planned my trip to join that. There was also a nice pool / sauna / jacuzzi which came in very handy after a long day of hiking. Could not have asked for a better place to stay in Zermatt and definitely planning to return soon.

The staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful, professional and kind. Breakfast was delicious and the fact that they had a dedicated gluten free area and toaster was very appreciated. The rooms were very cozy and clean and I had a magnificent view of the Matterhorn. The pool and spa were nice - a bit crowded at times but comfortable. I had a great massage as well at the spa. I also liked that there was a pool room etc for families and even if you were alone. The location was very easy to get around from and the hotel shuttle from the station was fantastic as I was running a little late after checkout and it was perfect! I would definitely stay again!!

This hotel is best described in one word: outstanding. The staff, the facilities, the restaurant, the breakfast, the enormous room and the breathtaking view of The Matterhorn. It exceeded our expectations in every way and is honestly one of the cleanest establishments I have ever have the pleasure of staying at. Communication with the hotel is via WhatsApp - as are 'in room' requests (there are no phones in the rooms). The service is near instant and flawless... from being met by the complimentary hotel shuttle service at Zermatt Station after taking The Glacier Express to being given a tour of the hotel to needing to request additional pillows at 11pm. Nothing was too much. THANK YOU in particular to Annalisa! The pictures I have uploaded to accompany this review will give an indication of the superb spa and pool (the largest in Zermatt), the enormous room and the direct, spectacular view over The Matterhorn from our top (fourth) floor room. Decor and facilities wise, the rooms are absolutely perfect: robes, slippers, coffee machines, a fridge and minibar, Swiss toiletries and chocolates... and the luxurious Swiss bedding and throws on the beds. Plenty of accessible power sockets too! The hotel spa is something else: from the huge pool and accompanying jacuzzi to a steam room and TWO saunas (the hotter one at 90°) everything is absolutely spotlessly clean and looks brand new. No wear or tear anywhere. The hotel restaurant is, as one would expect in Zermatt, expensive. But the portion sizes were generous and when we ate on a chilly Saturday evening, the food was delicious and there wasn't an empty table. Fantastic lighting and a very jovial atmosphere. Breakfast was similarly excellent: a wide range of hot and cold options and everything beautifully presented from the honeycomb to the buffet spreads. The scrambled eggs were the best I've ever had.

Pickup from train station worked well. The room had a fantastic view (Matterhorn side). "own" coffee machine in the room is a great plus. We have visited hotel own restaurant, the quality was outstanding. We are late eaters, so after six in the evening we had spa to "ourselves". The spa has a 25 m Pool, which is superb, the ambiente is very much enjoyable.

Please do not turn off saunas before indicated spa closure time (20:00). And if driver and shuttles are available, a ride to the furtherst Ski lift "on the house" would be very appreciated.
