Our stay was absolutaly amazing. I’ve never experienced such a genuine hospitality. Everybody from the staff is very professinonal and helpful. Speciál thanks to Ally for everything. The resort i very spacious and peaceful, thanks to the beautiful garden. The Villas have beautiful view and they’re cleaned twice a day. The beach is clean and private. We liked the Food, plenty to choose from the buffet plus fresh fish on the grill every eveneing. They even prepared special menu for dinner on the valentines day and on Friday , there is tradtional African Food served with live music….I mean, this place is truly special, We would come back next week if We could.

1. The service from every staff member is more than exceptional. The moment you arrive you are greeted with warm hospitality. 2. Rooms are spacious and sparkly clean. 3. Breakfast and dinner were delicious with various options suitable even for my picky teens. Every night there is a grill with the catch of the day. The ambience amazing! 4. Location is 10 minutes away from local town and 15 minutes away from Paje if you are looking for a more busy vibe. 5. The beach bar set up and beach area are totally serene, better than the pictures. 6. Beach: note that swimming is possible during high tide, which happened every day around 2pm and lasted for a good few hours. During this time you will experience soft warm turquoise Indian Ocean waters perfect for a dip. Special mentions: Ally who is the manager on duty will go over and above to ensure your stay is perfect. The reception and restaurant staff ( Hamida, Chef Hassan, Semeni, Khamis, and so many others whose names are too many to mention) Thanks for a wonderful stay! We will be back!

private pools are not as clean, especially if you paying allot more for privste pools

The staff are incredible—always ready to help, super friendly, and hilarious! The food was outstanding, especially the fish dishes; the carpaccio was unreal. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, offering a wide variety of options that even satisfied my picky teens. Every night featured a grill with the catch of the day, adding to the delightful dining experience. The ambience was amazing! Mr. Ally, the manager on duty, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. The reception and restaurant staff were equally exceptional. Thanks for a wonderful stay! We will definitely be back!

WiFi inside the villa

The Sands is rather small resort right on the beach. All rooms are in bungalows or villas. All surrounded by beautiful gardens. We had a huge two-bedroom villa with private pool and spectacular view on the ocean. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, separate kitchen, living room, terrace - plenty of space for our family of four. Beds pretty comfy. Decor rather simple, but honestly nothing to complain about. A/c working good. Cleaned during the day, plus evening turn-down service. We had breakfasts and dinner. Both delicious. Especially the dinner - we stayed three nights and every evening there was a fresh fish prepared right to your order. Delicious grill, but on our request chef also made us marlin and tuna carpaccios. Must try. Plenty of staff, always smiling and ready to help. We also liked the beach bar and their wonderful drinks. Especially fresh coconut pinacoladas.

One remark we made to the guest relations - they could clean up the beach more regularly, as plenty of shells and seeweeds were delivered by the sea on regular basis.

The resort surpassed all our expectations. The family villa was incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean, with twice-daily room service! We were delighted by the beautiful location, offering breathtaking scenic views of the beach. The lush garden and peaceful beachside setting added to the serene atmosphere, perfect for relaxation. What truly sets this resort apart is its limited number of rooms and villas spread across a large area, providing an exclusive and intimate stay that allows guests to fully enjoy the tranquility and privacy it offers. However, the standout feature of this resort is undoubtedly the staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive, consistently going above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable and enjoyable. Their genuine care and eagerness to assist made us feel valued and well taken care of throughout our entire stay.

While we didn't mind the mesmerizing tides that gracefully ebbed and flowed with a perfect view from the beach bar, it's important to note that if you're a passionate swimmer, you should be mindful of the strong tidal movements along the otherwise stunning white sandy beach.

I liked the scale of the resort - it felt very select, personal and friendly. Lovely gardens, plenty of sun beds at the beach and sofas by the beach bar, with a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and lounge area in the evening. The food was amazing, especially the grilled fish. Ally (manager) was always present especially during dining and the staff were so welcoming. I loved the resort and hope to return.

There could have been more shade around the pool - but really this so picky - there’s little to not like.

The staff were amazing and very accomodating.

I missed some ammenities, we didnt bring toothpaste for example as we expected it to be provided by hotel but it wasnt and we had to travel to town (30mins) and back and pay for the trip to get some essentials. Maybe a small shop or reception to have handy some essentials would be amazing

The staff and service was excellent. Staff were pleasant, friendly, and always ensuring our comfort. If there were any hiccups or special requests they were met with a positive response and immediate action. The food was amazing as well as the cocktails at the beach bar.

The air conditioning seemed to not work consistently. We were told this is due to a temporary issue with the electrical transformer feeding the resort and they needed to run a generator to power the air conditioning units in all the villas. They'd keep it off unless someone requested air conditioning. We always ended up asking for it to be turned on in the evenings, I hope their electrical system can be repaired so that they don't need the generator I the future.

It is an amazing accomodation! Really beautiful and gives you a holiday feeling! In front of the sea with confortable beds to enjoy the day at the beach! Mr.Ally the manager made us feel home! Perfect service and extremely friendly! The food is also really good with a fish from the BBQ every night! On Fridays the have an African night with great music and food! To conclude: this is a must place to stay in Zanzibar!

Nothing I did not like! All was perfect and we did not want to leave!
