The staff is very friendly and helpful, mostly at the restaurant. They are happy to help you at any moment and for the breakfast you can order as much as you like. The view is stunning, both from the restaurant/swimming pool as from the room. I wish I stayed more than one night!

You can only reach the hotel by taxi (they can arrange one for you) or by motor bike. The roads are steep and curvy. That’s how you get to the beautiful view of course, but good to take this into account. There are also a lot of mosquitos (as everywhere on the island), but they have taken good measures for it.

Beautiful villa, especially number 10, 11 and 12, beautiful sea view, big balcony with sofa and lounge chairs, room is equipped with mosquito screen doors, we could even sleep with open doors at night! Wonderful, very helpful staff members, dealt perfectly with every request we had! Nice dining area, beautiful pool, great variety for breakfast!

We had the most amazing stay at Ecotao Lodge. The views were honestly spectacular, the food in the restaurant was delicious, breakfast was also great. A real highlight was the staff, Camille and the barman (I can't remember his name apologies!) were honestly so helpful, kind and a true credit to the lodge.

It is quite inaccessible from the main areas of the island if you don't have a bike, which we didn't, however the lodge offers a free shuttle to drop down to the pier, and collect that evening. This was so useful! Taxi was also very available for evenings going into the main areas.

EcoTao Lodge gave more than just a place to stay. Incredible location with stunning views away from the hustle of the main resorts. Cleverly designed to give you a sense of privacy but with a friendly communal space too. The lodge/room was very comfortable and well appointed with a private balcony with its own seating and hammock ... perfect for chilling after a day out or reading and having a drink. Great shower with views too! Air con really helped stay cool along with the fan was welcome. Loved the pool and the area around it. Easy to find that sunny spot or a shady retreat whenever needed. Again, well placed fans and mosquito coils helped to avoid getting bitten! The attention to being eco friendly made a difference from eco friendly toiletries, to no plastic bottles and the clever use of waste water etc. But the best thing ... the wonderful staff team really made me feel relaxed and very welcome. Great communication from the reception staff before arrival including making arrangemenst for transfers to and from the lodge. Very accomodation with booking trips, tours, cooking classes and taxis throughout my stay, and always a friendly 'good morning' each day. Olivier (manager) always took time to check that everything was good but also to have chats with when by the pool/bar making it a much more personal experience. And I keep the best till last ... the bartender (so sorry that I can't recall his name). What an incredibly skilled, friendly and interesting man he is. Brilliant hand made cocktails, very attentive making sure fans were well positioned and orders brought to the lounger/tables, but the chats we had were amazing ... he has such a generous spirit and attitude to life and he was great company. Thank you to the whole staff team for making my stay a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Leaving! There was nothing that was negative. Some would find it too far out of the resort centres and a reliance on either taxis or hiring a scooter but that was what I wanted on this stay!

Wonderful stay, superbly managed by Camille and her team. Naing, who I guess is the maitre d', deserves a special mention as he was brilliant; very attentive and professional. We felt completely at home and cared for. The food was excellent. This is a small eco hotel who strive to have a small energy footprint and an intimate (only 11 rooms) feel. If you like to be away from the crowds, up in the hills and in the jungle and nature, this is perfect.

Nothing - but if you want to see more of Kao Tao be prepared to pay for taxis as this place is a little out of the way

What an amazing place. From the moment we arrived it was like paradise. We were warmly welcomed by Camila who was an amazing host during our whole 6 days. The accommodation was spotless and the views were amazing. The bar/restaurant food was outstanding and the staff were lovely especially Naing who went out of his way for us. We would recommend Eco Tao to any couples who want a beautiful/peaceful stay in Koh Tao 💛

Wow. We are struggling to find the words to write this review. It is an incredible place to stay on the beautiful island of Koh Tao. The pictures don’t do it justice. If you’re looking for a calmer place to stay away from the noisy crowds of backpackers, EcoTao Lodge won’t disappoint. We loved how genuine and personable the staff were. They were so welcoming. EcoTao Lodge is beautifully created, clean and comfortable. The restaurant has amazing food all day. EcoTao Lodge has its own taxi shuttle and so unless you want to hire a scooter it’s easy to get around. Thank you to Yves, the owner of EcoTao for being so lovely and taking us to the beach on his scooter one morning. Thank you to Naing for being a friendly waiter with great service. Thank you to the rest of the staff. We would recommend this place to anyone. Perfect.

We loved everything! I would stay here again if I found myself back in Thailand!

There was nothing we didn't like, we loved everything about our stay. It's a very peaceful and quiet place to relax. The common Area is very nice with a stunning view over the island, excellent food and drinks and great staff. You can really see they make an effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I like that it's a very small resort (best suited for couples) and you can really relax. The room is very nice too, great view and everything you need. It's really on top of the mountain in the jungle, there is nothing around that could disturb this paradise

The staff was very friendly and the service was very good! Ecotao is located in the mountains where you can escape the busy walkingstreet. The pool is very nice and there is always a bit of wind to cool you down.

The airco wasnt working well. The room was during the day too hot to stay in. During the night it was ok, but still around 30 degrees. Our neighbours had the same issue. We stayed in room nr. 1. I would advise to book the bigger room as they are located more in the shadow during the day. Otherwise everything was perfect during our stay!

We had a wonderful experience from the moment we were welcomed. The owner and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, they helped make us feel right at home. The views from the rooms and the pool were breathtaking, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The setting offers a secluded, intimate jungle vibe that's ideal for couples. Comfortable bed, and the shower comes with a great view. While we might not return because it wasn't quite the right fit for us personally, the hotel accurately reflects what it advertises to be.

The air conditioning was not functioning effectively, possibly for environmentally conscious reasons, though I'm not certain. I strongly recommend opting for one of the more deluxe rooms, as I think they offer better value with superior views and cooler temperatures. I believe the value for money is somewhat lacking, unless sustainability and secludedness is a high priority for you. The pool, while adequate, is surprisingly basic and shallow. Aside from these points, everything else during our stay was perfect!
