The location right next to the beach was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful - easy place to stay if you're on a bit of a budget

The restaurant was closed and had been since Covid so there was no breakfast or option to eat in - there was also no provision for making food (no kettle etc.) so this increased the amount we had to spend and made it about equivalent to a more expensive resort with breakfast included

I stayed in Tropicana for 1 month and I was really happy about my time there!! It´s right on the beach, close to all the wonderful restaurants and bars, yet away from the craziness of Sairee beach. I had my own wonderful bungalow that was cleaned every 4 days and the entire territory was really well taken care of. The highlight has been Mr Won and Mrs So who were extremely friendly and very kind people, willing to go out of their way to help you and make you feel comfortable, always with big smiles on their faces!!! I highly recommend staying there, it´s also very close to Jonh´s Viewpoint, Freedom Beach and Shark Bay (for snorkeling to see baby sharks and turtles ) and the best bars with most beautiful view points on the island - Secret Bar & High the Moon. Another cherry on top: just outside the resort there are yoga classes 4 times a day so you wouldn´t even need to go far to keep in shape! And make sure you book your diving course with the Ocean Sound and have dinner at Ying and Yang- best restaurant out there! And grab a cocktail at Koppe bar :) Enjoy your stay in Koh Tao <3

Everything was perfect and beyond

The staff are nice, the location is great, one of the good bays for snorkeling and walking distance to the shark Bay, both known for being visited by turtles and baby sharks. It is very recommended for snorkeling fans. We've been in the high season in February, and it was quiet and peaceful, with no a lot of people on the beach. Food is good and good price. Next to the resort, there is 7/11, exchange, a few restaurants in walking distance, all that you need. We spent 5 days there, and we didn't even rent a bike.

There us quit a lot of traffic passing by, mainly motorbike. Only at night, it stops. I guess it's the same as for al resorts next to the beach

perfect location, beautiful surroundings, close to the beach, perfect houses, close to everything, cheap and very good food,. the island is very mountainous, I do not recommend it to scooter enthusiasts because it is easy to have an accident or collision, it is better to walk

very close to the beach with turtles, clean beach, very nice hotel, quiet area and very nice people, the houses where we stayed had everything we needed, clean, equipped with air conditioning and a fridge, we didn't need anything else. for lovers of snorkeling with turtles, I recommend the turtle beach, you can meet them there about 400 - 600 m from the shore, large turtles and small sharks

Perfect spot on Chalok Bay right by the beach. 10 mins walk to Shark Bay where you can snorkel from the public beach and see the most amazing fish, and turtles if you are lucky. My hut was v comfortable with a fridge, air con, fan and bathroom as well as a lovely balcony to sit out on and place to dry clothes. They give you a bottle of water every day which is a lovely thing. And room, gets cleaned every 4 days. The staff are really kind and helpful. I booked a fantastic snorkelling day trip with Oxygen tours through Tropicana. Close by is a 7/11, ATM and money exchange plus lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and massage places. The little cafe opposite the 7/11 is very good and cheap.

Could have done with a big sheet on top instead of a big towel but fine really

Room was very nicely decorated with wooden walls and pretty new looking furniture and fittings, as well as being very spacious (three bed family room).There was a balcony too which did only look onto the road but the view of the hills was nice. Good location, 5 minute drive from the main pier and as such in a quieter area but still plenty of options for food and drink nearby and the hotel restaurant backs onto a small secluded beach. Super friendly and welcoming staff. FYI if you need a taxi early in the morning (before 9am) to catch a ferry, you're best to book one in advance, as the nearby taxi stand was shut and a cafe owner had to call for us.

Bad WiFi connection not just in the room but the restaurant reception too. The sheets weren't very comfy and were like towels, softer ones would have been better but maybe these were available as we didn't ask. Other than that everything was perfect :)

Very friendly stuff! The room was very clean and equipped with everything we needed- very well working A/C, fan, fridge… water was provided daily and room was cleaned and equipped with new towels every other day. The garden is beautiful and the beach could be seen and reached with a few steps from our bungalow. Everything you need- a small supermarket, massage, ATM, diving centers, multiple restaurants are only a few steps outside the resort on the street. The price is VERY reasonable for what you get! No luxury resort, but a very solid and nice options for people who want a good and clean accommodation in great environment without paying a fortune. The stuff is super sweet and helpful, so is the family running the place. Would definitely come again! We wanted to stay two nights, made it four, because everything was so nice!

very private, super close to an idylillic beach front with lots of restaurants,10 min walk to freedom beach and viewpoint. Staff were lovely and friendly. Rooms are very basic but functional. Ideal if you need a break from the more party side of the island.

Slight holes between the doors means bugs such as grasshoppers and mosquitos may make an appearance. Please note, in my room at least, there was only a fan (no a/c) but I found this efficient most of the time

The staff is super friendly, room big and cozy with A/C (even though most of the rooms are fan only, there still are a few with A/C), the location is beautiful next to the beach and with a lot of green plants in between. The restaurant is reasonably priced and offers delicious food. Overall we were very satisfied and would recommend it to anyone :)

The restaurant did at that moment (May 2024) only offer half of it's own menu, which was a pity :/

I was meant to be staying in a dorm room at another hotel. I decided I wanted some space so booked Tropicana as I am on a budget and this is the cheapest I could find. I messaged before asking if I could have a double bed and the manager replied so kindly. He gave me a double bed and the room with a sea view! I had a lovely welcome from him when I arrived at Tropicana and felt welcome the whole time. He helped me book a taxi when I left and everything was smooth! Great hotel I would definitely recommend- it doesn’t have a pool but there are many other pools along the beach you can use if you want to!
