Brilliant location! The hotel reception was lovely, the pool was good, the breakfast was lovely! Staff at breakfast and in the restaurant were fantastic! The staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful!

The rooms were very dated, they need a very good freshen up. The carpet in our room was ripped (which is a small thing to moan about but it makes a difference), the tv in the room was a flat screen as stated but it was about 12 years old, there were bits of rubbish under the bed (obviously not been cleaned properly under the bed for years). We’ve stayed in the deluxe family room, I wouldn’t have said it was a deluxe, very old and dated and in desperate need of a renovation. The pool was good, although grubby, there was mould around the edges of the plastic grids, which again is small but doesn’t take much for the pool staff to give it a good scrub! All in all we did enjoy our time there, but wouldn’t have liked to pay more than what we did.

Staff were friendly, room was big. Loved the fact you could see greenery out of the large swimming pool and the internal and external hot tubs were really nice and relaxing. I think the way they designed the pool set up for both adults and children to enjoy was clever. The evening meal tasted really nice. The nespresso machine in the room was a bonus although there were very few milks/tea bags and capsules. (We could, I'm sure, have asked for more.) Also appreciated the attempts to be sustainable such as dividing the bin up to include recycling and having water available at machines rather than in bottles. We also liked the reasonable check in and out times so you could enjoy the facilities during a one night stay.

The breakfast was poor quality for the price. we paid an inclusive rate but the additional rate would have been over £16 per head. My daughter kept saying things like we have sausages/hash browns like this at school. The meat sausages were not at all crisp - just pallid. The vegetarian sausages were just potato. The big mushrooms were the best thing on offer for the hot breakfast. The coffee given for breakfast was extremely weak which was odd as they had really nice free coffee all over the hotel - a machine in the breakfast room would have been better Also, in the spa - we asked for robes but they were for other people not us.

The bathroom was so clean and big. Even though one of the extra beds was a bit old and uncomfortable, the other one and the main bed were great. The hotel had Christmas decorations all over and it was stunning!

We had dinner at the restaurant but the service was at good. The waiter from the bar helped us nicely to the table but after this the waitress forgot about us. They seemed a bit lost as there were more than 2 waitresses there looking after the tables but seemed like they did not know what to do. We needed to ask for the menu, ask more than once for the water, need to call to make the order… very poor service. The only person that seemed to care was the waiter Chetan, who brought our food from the kitchen, an item was missing and he promptly fixed the problem. We were very fortunate to have him over the breakfast too as no one told us we must order the coffee and he saw us and helped us. He is polite, very friendly and seems to be there doing his best!

The breakfast room was lovely and clean, very inviting. I do wish they had more vegan options or that you could request them in advance so like pastry’s , vegan yoghurt and vegan butter. But that a personal thing . My other half said the food was really good . Room was really clean , very spacious , lovely coffee machine (again wish there were vegan options in the room since there wasn’t eg soy milk or a vegan little biscuit) the bath room was super nice my daughter loved the big bath , again personal opinion but the soap provided was not too my taste the smell was very manly ,but still lovely Elemis products. The spa and swimming were so much fun and lovely that kids could go for a dip in the morning, was super clean. Will definitely be staying there again in the future and would highly recommend it for families going to Lapland uk or just wanting a little getaway

A very welcoming reception area. We thought the cleanliness of all parts the hotel was excellent. The breakfast choice was excellent. The only things missing were the option of having porridge and pancakes. The spa area was also excellent with robes, towels and slippers available if wanted. We had booked a deluxe bedroom, with a bed for our granddaughter. The room was very clean with a large bath and extra large shower in the bathroom. When we went up to the room didn’t have a bed set up for our granddaughter. We contacted reception and this was sorted quickly.

Some of the staffs use of the English language was quite limited and while they were very nice and polite it was quite hard to make them understand what was needed. We were disappointed with our meals. We ordered fish goujons and we got fish fingers, we also ordered scampi and got cod bites. On the first night we also waited over 45 minutes for our meals to be delivered. We felt we couldn’t complain due to the staffs inability to understand us. Maybe more training would help.

Have stayed here several times and always a lovely weekend. Quiet location but short drive to various towns and the lovely Virginia Water lake. Comfortable beds. Nice spa. Lovely restaurant with good food. Nice bar area. The rooms are relatively basic (we had basic double) but fine for a weekend stay. Breakfast was ok. Some more fresh fruit options would be good but cooked breakfast was done well. Staff friendly and helpful. Pool area busy but nice choice of sauna/steam rooms and outdoor jacuzzi.

It would have been nice to have the use of bathrobes and slippers in the spa. You only get those if you are booking a treatment instead of just using the pool/sauna etc.

This was a great hotel. In fact I think you need to amend your website photos, because I nearly didn't book it based on website photos... but in person, the hotel is much nicer. The room was lovely, comfortable and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Also, the grounds around the hotel are stunning!! And food was great.

Unfortunately the walls and ceiling are paper thin. There was a wedding, and some of the female guests stood in the corridor being incredibly loud for over an hour! This was from 10.30pm-ish through to about 11.30pm. Literally going up and down the corridor, then stood outside my room. It was so bad as my child was trying to sleep. The walls are so thin, it's like they are in your room. I didn't want to complain as it was a wedding and didn't want to ruin their day, but luckily we travel with earplugs, always, so once they were in it was fine. And despite this, I would still stay again.

The hotel has a lovely grand staircase area. The staff are all polite and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were so efficient, polite abs kind. The rooms are a good size, we had a family room with a double bed and 2 single beds set up as extras and there was still plenty of space to get around. The wardrobes are large with tea/coffee facilities and a safe. Everywhere was really clean The lounge area near reception is a nice place for drinks. The spa and pool facilities are excellent with various hot and cold rooms and heated relaxing seats inside the spa area. The hydro pool was really relaxing and nice to be outside in the dark. The changing rooms and pool area are clean with good hairdryers and straighteners available to use. You can also get a free hot drink in the reception area.

One thing I’d say is the car parking isn’t clear, we arrived in the dark and followed the signs which took us to the bottom of the hill. It won’t be easy for some people to carry cases up through the pathway as it turns into stepping stones by the pool area. I’m not sure if there’s another route up without going on the road which isn’t well lit and not ideal with 2 children. I recommend parking at the top if you have a lot of cases/mobility issues. If I’m clutching at straws the bathroom and corridors to the rooms could do with updating but that’s being really picky.

This is the second time we've stayed in the hotel and it was amazing. The restaurant and the food is so beautiful. My kids also enjoy the food as well, which is always a bonus. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

It was a bit difficult to park on the Saturday night as there was a wedding. Which meant we had to park a little way from the hotel next to the conference room. Which with many bags and 2 small children was a bit of a walk. Also the room was a little hot. The thermostat had come off the heating device, so there was no way of turning the heating down.

We have stayed at the hotel before. It's very handy for Ascot races with a very good taxi service. We enjoyed a very good breakfast the next morning

I booked a standard room similar to the one on my previous stay. A few days before going I was offered an upgrade to a bigger room for a discounted rate. When we entered the room there were no side lamps on either side of the bed which I have never experienced before. Also we onl5had one armchair instead of two. I spoke to a very helpful lady on reception and she helped us find another room which was standard and she refunded my upgrade money. Our trip was still fine and we enjoyed ourselves and my thanks to the reception team for sorting it out.
