The room was lovely with a stunning bathroom and overall beautiful decor, immaculate cleanliness and great facilities with a comfortable bed. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was amazing with little wait time and with good quality food and range on offer.

Nothing, yes it wasn't quite noisy from the bar downstairs and the road outside but I knew that might be the case when I booked it so I would recommend you consider that when booking here but it said there was free wifi and it was not working when I came

Spacious room with extra sized bed superking size extremely comfortable, proper sized shower, Meals were reasonable priced along with the beers and cider It's a very popular place, and properly bustling for a Tuesday night breakfast was included, and along with the standard cereals, they have a great full English along with other hot dishes wife enjoyed her salmon and poached eggs Very well done, team We will return very soon

We didn't meet the house spirits, unfortunately, but with over 400 years of history, there has to be 2 or 3 lurking in the shadows.....maybe next time 😉

Ham sandwich with chips was very generous with the ham and the chips were excellent. Breakfast was also really good. The room was roomy and comfortable. The staff were very friendly. I needed an overnight stay in the area and this provided what I needed.

unfortunately the whole area seems to shut down at 4.30. I was warned that this would be the case in the pub itself but I didn't realise there wouldn't be anywhere to go at all.

Very friendly characterful hotel . The staff and owner went out of their way to ensure everything was ok. Good choice of well cooked and presented food likewise for dinner.

External areas of the property could do with attention and clearer signage for check-in. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably equipped but my room lacked mirrors no problem for me but most ladies in particular would appreciate a full length mirror and probably some gents.

Excellent food; all freshly cooked with high quality ingredients. Although the pub was very busy on Saturday night, all the staff were very friendly, attentive and efficient. Comfortable rooms, great beer, too.

There's a bit of road noise in the front-facing rooms - which is unsurprising as the pub is right next to a busy road. Knew all this in advance and always travel with earplugs anyway; absolutely not a problem.

Warm welcome, comfortable spacious room with bigctoilet and great shower. Lovely beer garden...did help that the weather when we arrived was glorious. Service at dinner could've been a bit quicker, but place was busy. The breakfast was plentiful, quick, hot and tasty. Have already recommended here to family as an overnight stop.

Slowness dining room service...already explained.

The welcome and room quality, internal decor and facilities . It is obviously popular and the food being served looked fabulous.

The exterior lets the property down. The old faded signs near the entrance etc and not much curb appeal at all which is a shame as inside is immaculate. I wouldn’t however stop if passing and my initial reaction on arrival was dismay. As previously mentioned a noisy road so ask to stay at the rear.

An old traditional property, with classic rooms. Very friendly staff and helpful owners. (Wife cooks an amazing breakfast).

Parking was rather limited f you wish to park to the front of the hotel otherwise it's up the road. No TV signal for most of the afternoon, possibly due to the storm, as could not get the TV to work.

Such welcoming staff. Really made a fuss of me. Organised food even though the kitchen was about to close and recommended superb gin then a really good white wine. Lovely end to a long day. Great facilities for the dog too - grass at the back of the beer garden and a dog shower downstairs to get her clean after a muddy walk
