Beautiful scenery looking across the Thornbury landscape amidst the wild flowers and the wedding swing was a great hit. This historic building has been elegantly adapted to cater for modern guests. The clubhouse was spotless. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Breakfast was delicious and an easy walk to the quaint Thornbury village. So many activities for families to do around Thornbury - Cattle country & Wolfridge Alpaca farm were a great hit. The T1 bus to Bristol conveniently left from the end of the Estate's driveway.

It would have been lovely to have a family room or adjoining rooms.

The Lodge was lovely, set in beautiful location, if you like golf this would be a must. The room was comfortable, overall the facilities in the room were good the shower was really good, tea/coffee making and everything nice and clean. Prices in the bar were quite good. The village was within walking distance and was nice for an evening out.

It would have been nice to have had some sort of dining room to sit and eat a takeaway in, if we wanted to. Also it was a bit far out and we could not book a taxi through the bar as we were advised they had to come all the way from Bristol, so I would suggest if you want to go to the races you'd be better off driving or staying somewhere with better transport links.

Check in via the golf club was good, the restaurant/bar was very welcoming with good views of the golf course. Meals were good, both evening and breakfast. Good choice of drinks and food and people appeared to be enjoying the ambience, whether golfers or not! Lodge room was comfortable, shower excellent, nice and powerful, refreshing for a warm day. Because it is some way from the golf course, it is fairly quiet. I will definitely stay here again.

On arriving, it could be clearer that you need to check in at the golf club in the bar area. As the door was open to the Lodge, I assumed there would be either a sign or part time manned reception; the sign would be fine, and I worked it out that you do need to ask at the club; there is a sign in the car park on the way, admittedly, but beyond where I parked! There is a fan in the room for really hot days/nights, but it was difficult to let fresh air in as the drapes were very solid and with my room, there was a flashing red light (bird or animal scarer?) that I could see in the garden area if I let the drapes go up any. It was a minor point, all in all, and I enjoyed the stay.

Clean room, comfortable bed, good historic location. Friendly staff, tasty food.

We asked for a quiet room as we were attending a funeral and although room 5 was spacious, very clean and comfortable there was a boxed in pipe or flue that crackled constantly throughout night. I am a light sleeper unfortunately and was irritated by the hum of what was probably a boiler and the crackle of condensation. The second night we had to use the fan provided as room was very hot and stuffy, this drowned out the pipe noise but was not that easy to sleep through.

Beautiful Building, Nice Surroundings, Perfect Location for where we needed to be.

Room needed a little more care in the fact of Cracks visible & Paintwork missing around the ceiling edges. Reception Area was located within the Main Club House, however this was being worked on, so had to go upstairs to the function room to be then told to go back downstairs. Only 6 Parking Spaces outside for Hotel users however these were being used by Golf Club Users.

The setting was lovely. Its a close connection for the M4 & M5 & Thornbury is a pretty market town with a good choice of pubs. The room was large & comfortable. The breakfast was really good.

It's probably my fault for not checking restaurant opening times. I arrived at the Lodge just after 7pm & the restaurant was closed. Had I not been attending a close friend's funeral, I may have been up to getting back in my car & finding somewhere else to eat. The fact that the restaurant closes at 7pm may be worth putting under the general info.

Loved the building, very well and tastefully updated. Bed very comfortable, room EXTREMELY warm ( even a coldy like me had to turn down the heating and open a window in April!) . I had views of the golf course and surrounding lands, even managed to watch a few pheasants in the evening - very peaceful.

I couldn't turn on either the shower or the bath without climbing into the bath first due to the set position of the shower screen, this could put people in danger of burning themselves. Shower was held together by sellotape and toilet badly stained on my arrival. YOU NEED A CAR TO STAY HERE, no food/bar options after 7pm and Thornbury is a bit of a walk in poorly lit roads/lanes. No staff availability after 7.30pm, just an emergency phone number.

Lovely setting, very nice room, very comfortable bed, very helpful staff. Also were able to accommodate an earlier check in which was really appreciated.

Room was freezing cold and took me some time to realise I needed to plug in the heater. While advertised as a B&B breakfast was not included so was an unexpected additional expense.

The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. Meals in the golf club were also very good. Plenty of parking space. Wifi worked well.

The room was quite dusty and felt like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly. The people staying in the room next to ours were very noisy into the early hours of the morning, slamming doors and laughing. They appeared to be a group of young male guests and it was a Saturday night so they were drinking well into the early hours.

the property, an old carriage house was very quaint & charming yet the rooms were comfortable, clean & nicely appointed. the restaurant was accommodating, food was good, staff was excellent. Would like to see drinking water in rooms, bathroom shampoo & body wash, shower covers etc... but, the fan provided in the room made for a very pleasant temp during a rather warm time of year. overall very pleasant stay & we would definitely recommend! Thank you.

Nothing not to like - beautiful grounds & wonderful staff!
