The location of this property was ideal for the racecourse. Check-in was simple and the owners contacted us the day before we arrived with instructions. There was limited parking outside the property but a small, safe and cheap car park was located about 100m away. A residents lounge and communal kitchen were available and although we didn't use either it was a nice touch. Coffee and tea along with fresh milk and biscuits were available which were a nice touch. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean; The en-suite was spacious with a lovely shower and quality towels. There was no breakfast but we knew this when booking. A great riverside pub and an excellent Italian restaurant were a 5 minute walk away.

All was good.

good location mostly. Cottage is quite old and wonky, with tiny stair case (not for big people for sure) and original features. Parking was easy, no need for keys as everything is coded - entrance and room.

Unfortunately walls were quite thin and we could hear and judge neighbours pillow talks and actions. It was a bit entertaining but i`d rather have a good sleep. So my good advice - bring your earplugs.

Great place, very clean and nicely done out. It had everything you would need. I will be staying there again. Craig who owns the place really nice too. I stayed in the whisky room, which a separate bathroom, this was mo problem at all, it was opposite the bedroom and there are no other rooms on that floor and it was huge. Homely but not to the it was full of random stuff.. loved it there.

Great location within a few minutes walk to the centre of Chepstow and 4 minutes to the riverside pub. Large bedrooms with excellent en-suite facilities (first floor room having a fantastic bathroom across the landing). Very comfortable king size beds.

An issue with the heating in the first hour was quickly rectified by Craig who attended within minutes. No problems experienced after that.

Lovely location, clean comfortable room with tea, coffee etc in the room, plus use of a shared kitchen with a fridge and all you need, as well as a lounge if you wanted it, so you could make yourself at home. There are only a few rooms, so we didn't actually meet any other guests. Lovely comfortable bed and fab shower in the en suite. Good communication from hosts. I liked that they left milk for our arrival, and gave good information for parking close to No 8.

Nothing I did not like

Really nice, quirky old house. Well equipped kitchen, cosy lounge and good sized bedroom. Well located for town centre and railway station. Craig was lovely and helpful, really quick to respond to queries.

Very steep stairs… fine for me but would be difficult for someone not so steady on their feet.

Self catering - ample milk, tea and coffee etc. provided. I used the fridge to store my own food which I cooked for one meal. Dishwasher and washing machine also provided. Tea and coffee facility in bedrooms. Great communication from host, I felt very well looked after. Easy walking distance to all of the attractions of Chepstow (except racecourse!) But the River Wye, Chepstow castle, railway station and central Chepstow are all within a few minutes walk. Have booked a return visit.

Sounds nit-picking, but it is an older property, so the stairs are steep. Parking on the street outside the property is time limited, though there is an inexpensive car park a couple of hundred yards away.

A good location for the start of our Offa's Dyke walk. It would be a good base for a stay in Chepstow as there's a well equipped kitchen on the ground floor. There's a Weatherspoons and a bakery just up the road for breakfast and food for the day's walk to Monmouth.

No complaints for a 1 night stay at a reasonable price.

Lovely bnb in a good central location. Clear instructions for check-in. Large comfy bed. Kitchen to make tea and coffee and lovely having fresh milk

We didn’t realise when we booked that the Whisky room’s bathroom was separate across the landing with a keypad for entry. Maybe this detail was in the description and we missed it? A socket beside a mirror in the room would be useful.

Good communications from the owners which were very helpful.
