the staff is friendly and tries to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms are lovingly and adequately equipped. The service is good every day. The location is perfect, only the noise is to be criticized in the rooms facing the street. The pub and the delivery vehicles are very loud, but no problem with earplugs. If you are sensitive to noise, you should take a room facing the courtyard. The cleanliness in the shower is unfortunately only mediocre as it is a bit outdated. The staff tries hard to clean and you don't feel uncomfortable. The breakfast is hot and cold enough to start the day and they try to accommodate every need. Cheers!

The noise (pub at night, delivery vehicles in the early morning), if you take one of the rooms facing the street.

We stayed for an overnight stay whilst visiting Exeter University, so glad we came here. Lovely friendly staff, really helpful. We had to leave early in the morning so they even arranged for our Breakfast to be available early without us asking, how thoughtful was that. We had a meal here in the evening which was just superb. The room we stayed in was lovely and clean, spacious, comfortable and above all quiet. We loved this little town and pub so much that we shall come again, thank you for the pleasurable stay.

We booked as an overnight stop over on our way to Cornwall. I could have happily stayed here for the week. The beds were super comfy, lots of storage for clothes, all the extra touches in the room were greatly appreciated (hot chocolates, robes etc) lovely deep bath. The food was exceptional both in the evening and at breakfast. We will plan a longer break next time

Nothing- perfect

Breakfast which was included was delicious. Staff were super friendly. Room was amazingly quiet, barely any noise from the pub below. Bed was really comfy, the drinks options in the room were great. The towels supplied were lovely and thick.

The shower was rather old and tired, however the water was hot and the pressure was good!

Very convenient location and perfectly comfortable room for a couple of nights. Generous tea and coffee provisions. Fairly quiet despite being above the bar. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast served swiftly, which is important when needing to get to work.

Showers are a bit dated.

It was exactly what it said on the tin. This is a pub with rooms and in my case a large, very comfortable and spotlessly clean room with a view out over the square.

Granted I was the only guest in the middle of February, but the pub closed at 7 on a Sunday night and again at 10.30a.m. the next day, meaning I couldn't leave my bag anywhere.

The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were helpful and friendly, the breakfast was decent. The log fire in the pub lounge was lovely, especially on a wet afternoon

The bathroom heated towel rail didn’t come on. There was some shouting and swearing heard later in the evening just outside, from a couple of drunk pub goers

Really kind and accommodating about my food intolerances and allergies. Loved the location and the building itself is cosy and characterful. People were great.

The shower head really needed a clean, there was black goop all around the parts where the water comes out. To be honest other than that it was a wonderful stay.

Room was really perfect for the three of us. A bath was nice. The village was really lovely, very full of activity when we were there, music and nice shops. There is no parking, but there is a pay and display about 150m away that wasn't expensive. Breakfast was good.
