Myself and my husband were getting married at Heskin Hall and stayed at the B&B the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding. The staff were very polite and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay, even leaving us some champagne and chocolates in our room for when we came back after the event and providing us with extra crockery for our extra visitors while we were getting ready. They also allowed us to use the gardens and grounds for photos before the event. The room was very clean and comfortable and they also provided extra Gluten free options at my request. we had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay there again.

There was nothing we disliked. Everything was to our satisfaction

We stayed here overnight for our wedding. As well as booking a double room we also had use of a different room on site to get ready in and to have our hair and makeup done. Firstly, the hotel room was perfect. It was big, airy and sparkly clean. It had everything you needed in there including a fridge already topped with milk and other amenities for breakfast. Secondly, the separate barn where we got ready was just amazing. It was massive and had chairs, a sofa, a huge mirror and a separate kitchen area to make brews and coffee. The staff were absolutely lovely to the point where everyone was commenting on it, even our hair and makeup artists. The grounds were beautiful and made for lovely photographs of our bridal party. Thank you so much for making our night before and wedding night so special. The champagne and card just topped it off and we are really grateful to you, it was such a lovely gesture. Your well wishes were really appreciated. Sorry I didn’t take any actual pictures of the rooms it was a whirlwind 24 hours! Thanks so much X

One of the best places we've stayed. Great communication from the start and allowed us to check in early due to a wedding. Was greated in the car park and was asked if they could help carry things, which was nice. Shown to our room and was told that although it was room only, they provided cereal, fruit, yogurts, fresh drinks along with toast and croissants free of charge. Along with this, we could help ourselves to the fridge downstairs. This was an incredible touch, especially with not being charged and goes to show they go the extra step. They cherry yogurt was incredible! The beds are firm and the pillows are thin but we had an amazing sleep. I believe there's extra pillows in the wardrobe. We asked one of the ladies if they could take a photo of us before the wedding and she happily obliged and even took us infront of the barn doors for a nicer picture. We also liked the extra lock on the back of the door.

The only thing we wasn't sure about is why staff came into our room not long after we checked in and left for the wedding. I had a bowl of cereal and a yogurt before leaving and when we came back to the room after the wedding, the box of cereal and yoghurt had been replaced. We've not had this before and don't understand why someone came in hours after check in. Saying that, we would stay again

A lovely location and perfect for visiting family who live nearby. I received a friendly welcome and showed to my room, which was a generous size, with a comfortable double bed and ensuite shower room. Complimentary tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. The price is for the room only and states it does not include breakfast. You should say you don't provide a cooked breakfast, as there is a fridge in the room with milk, yogurts and butter, selection of cereals, croissants and pain au Chocolat and jam/marmalade. In addition to this not insignificant offering, in the entrance hall there is a tall fridge with more milk, including oat milk, bread and other light breakfast options and a toaster available for your use. There is ample parking and delightful grounds around the accommodation suite, including outdoor seating. Also, situated to local village amenities within walking distance. So all in all, pretty much all you need for a relaxing stay. Thank you.

Nothing, well if I had to really nit pick here - the provision of bigger bath towels/bath sheets would be nice. That said ample towels were provided.

The room was lovely and airy, well appointed and tastefully decorated very clean and comfortable, toiletries provided were very nice quality. The owner welcomed me she was lovely and friendly.

I would much prefer a cooked breakfast, I felt it was a little confused as to its identity the business cards in the room said bed and breakfast but other signage said it was room only and the breakfast items left were a bonus if you like, the items were okay but when you are travelling a cooked breakfast is more sustaining, also had an issue with the shower I couldn’t get hot water through but that was probably down to me not reading instructions so I had a bath instead which I have to say I really enjoyed😊

Lovely hidden gem of a property! If you’re looking for a simple, clean, easy going place to stay then it’s perfect. With the added benefit of having breakfast in your room, complete with mini fridge stocked with fresh milk (so much better than those vile little plastic milks!) and yogurts, as well as a place to make toast and grab fresh fruit on your way out the door!! What’s not to love! The rooms are spacious and warm with plenty of wardrobe and draw space.

Poor lighting in the bathrooms make it a little difficult to see but it’s not that bad. Didn’t like the extractor fan that came on everytime you entered either, triggered by movement rather than the lighting BUT there is most likely a very good reason for this as the rooms are panelled and damp may be a concern as these rooms were once a barn.

My colleague and I arrived very late after a long day at work and a long drive in cold weather. Having never stayed here before and being aware that it was cold I had packed a hot water bottle. No need! I had a call late in the evening to see how we were doing and as we were still driving up I was talked though access to the premises. On arrival, entry was easy to the premises and to our rooms. My room was warm but not stuffy. There was a bath and overhead shower. I cannot comment on the shower as I did not use it but had a bath with plenty of hot water. Plenty of clean towels and shower/washing substances. There is a continental breakfast with a kettle and variety of teas and coffee. I had a small fridge which had milk in it. It was welcoming and perfect. My colleague took a card for the details (I had booked) for future use.

The location was fantastic..the grounds and surroundings were excellent. The decor was of a high standard and the additional breakfast items located in the room and downstairs reception area is a nice little touch.

The only thing I had a problem with was the firmness of the mattress (room 9)..on a personal level was just way to firm for me my partner also commented on this also. But get it may just have been to firm for my personal preference but apart from that everything else was top notch..

A lovely welcome from the friendly host of this beautiful barn conversion. Our room was comfortable and spacious with a view over fields and a good choice of breakfast items. We enjoyed an evening meal at Verdes (Italian restaurant in Eccleston village) followed by a walk down to the river and a peaceful night's sleep. Well located for our trips to both Rufford Old Hall (National Trust) and Southport. We wish we could have stayed longer and would certainly recommend a stay here for anyone visiting this area.

The room was fine for my purposes and it was good to have a table top fridge. The heating worked well so I was nice and warm. Good pressure in the shower too. Plenty of towels and a continental breakfast of sorts thrown in to the room only stay. It was nice they had non-dairy yogurts for us vegans.

Unfortunately, the fridge was very noisy so kept waking me the first night. I had to pad it underneath with a pillow to make it quieter. The mattress was a bit thin and lumpy. Maybe ready for upgrading soon. A little more in the way of vegan extras would have been a bonus (spread for the toast, for example).
