We like everything. The breakfast was continental in style...and just right for us. The room was excellent. Plenty of space and a great view over the fields.Everything you'd expect from a farmhouse B&B...cows at the end of the garden and chickens (hens? I'm a townie:-) ) in the garden itself. Great location and access to local places to eat in the evening. One just a 10 minute walk away...which enabled supping some real ale. Great value

Nothing. It more than matched our expectation. It's not a city hotel or a hotel chain - it's a former farmhouse in the countryside with all the trimmings of being adjacent nto a work9ing farm. We loved it. BIG plus.... Very personable and helpful hosts.

Our host was very courteous and friendly. The room was nicely furnished with a comfortable bed and generously equipped bathroom. There was helpful info about local eating places - we were glad to find a good pub in walking distance. Also useful parking, excellent wifi, and a lovely quiet location in rural setting. Very handy for our visit to Kedlestone National Trust.

Host is hoping to return to providing cooked breakfasts in the future and that will be a good addition. (Though we went to local pub for early breakfast which was lovely.)

Peter made us feel very welcome to visit his wonderful B&B. Everything was explained, and instruction cards were also in the room for items such as the WiFi and local places to visit. The breakfast order card was also there to be filled in that night. The Amber suite is large! Sitting room with large TV, kitchenette (fridge, freezer, sink etc.) and bathroom with modern shower and bath. Plenty of very hot water! The bedroom is large with a very comfortable bed, lounge chair, desk and TV, lots of storage and wardrobe. Also dressing gowns! It's a B&B, but as you have your own area, it felt very self contained and we could not hear any other guests or the host. We overlooked the farmyard at the back and that offered more interest! Breakfast was continental, and plentiful, in the lovely music room. Overall, a stunning find and well recommended!

Nothing!

An old style farmhouse that was clean and tidy, the room was spacious. We stayed for a couple of days for a wedding we were attending at the Mackworth farmhouse hotel, just a 5 min walk up the road. There is plenty of choice regarding tea and coffee. water, and milk in the fridge and restocked on request. Pete, the host, was warm and welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again.

The only slight downside was that the room did not have on-suite, but the bathroom was next door. It was our private bathroom so we could leave our toiletries in there, and we were supplied bathrobes, which I thought was a lovely touch.

Was more than satisfied before we got to the venue. Communication prior was fantastic in supporting our needs for checking in early due to a wedding up the road Peter was so kind and thoughtful and we absolutely loved our stay The fresh milk in the fridge and the turned down bed ready for us returning in the evening was such a great little touch. Room was clean and the bed was comfy. The bathroom was also very clean and the shower was fab Breakfast in the morning, although only continental, was great and the set up in the room was lovely.

Nothing not to like

House which is situated on a dairy farm was lovely and quaint, loved seeing the cows and chickens! Host Peter was very friendly and came out to greet us on arrival. Great selection of teas and coffees and gorgeous smelling toiletries. Totally relaxing stay with a 5 minute walk to a pub with restaurant.

Just a small thing, we had a kitchen with a hob in our suite but no plates or pans. A couple of each would be useful 🙂

Our stay at Mackworth House Farm exceeded our expectations. Peter has done a fabulous job maintaining the place spotlessly clean with all amenities provided. He was very warm, friendly and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable. The breakfast was just perfect and served professionally. We enjoyed walking around the farm and it was a delight to see the cows of the diary farm all herded together in the morning. Looking forward to staying at Mackworth Farm during our next trip to Peak District.

Peaceful location, pleasant welcoming host, great facilities, lovely views over the countryside. Nice warm suite, great bath and shower, nicely presented rooms, with thoughtful decor, great TV room with Sky TV. A wide variety of drinks, milk & water in the fridge too.

No cooked breakfast, but we did know this was the case, as the owner had explained. Quite muddy parking area, which we didn't want to walk in and spread on the carpets, but I guess it is a working farm.

Great location as we were attending a party in a local venue, The Farmhouse. The host was brilliant, very attentive and so welcoming. Warm and homely touches throughout the property. We stayed in the Emerald room with a private bathroom next door. Very spacious, loved the decor and the tea/coffee box and fresh milk was delightful. Loved waking up and seeing the cows! ❤️

Zero dislikes about this property - everything was great!

Charming, helpful hosts. Picturesque setting. Rooms were large, beds clean and comfortable. Very ample continental breakfast available for a small extra cost. Great selection of teas, coffee and fresh milk, in provided fridge. Very dog friendly. Working farm, so be prepared for early morning noise in that respect. Didn't disturb us though. Good local facilities to cater for most culinary tastes.

Some large cobwebs need attention. We weren't advised to use the back door, to toilet dogs during the night, so consequently struggled with the multiple locks on the front door! A fair few, slightly precarious stairs - tricky for elderly and those with small children or lots of luggage.
