I expected to be in a pub, but was pleasantly surprised the rooms were separate around the side. Breakfast was not included in the price. I was not sure and had to ask. Greggs cafe and shop is just up the road a few minutes away for a breakfast. It was a very comfortable room. I chose it because it was close to the Rail Station and also a few minutes walk to the Quay Theatre.

Nothing really. The room was lovely and warm as the lady put the radiator on when I arrived.

Clean, dry and warm. Well positioned in the town and very quiet surroundings considering its location.

I may have missed it beforehand but wasn’t aware the bar/restaurant was closed on Sundays. There other places nearby so not a massive hardship. Toiletries amounted to a bar of soap. Room was smaller than anticipated so would have been quite cramped for two so just as well I was alone this time. Genuinely think the price was a bit much for what was offered. I’ve paid less for bigger/ better equipped and would think £55-60 would have been more appropriate.

I had the pleasure of being the very first guest coming from booking. The very nice owner didn't expect it to happen so quickly, as it was only online on Thursday and three days later on Sunday this guy (me) from Germany arrives. The hotel is part of a pub – which is closed on Sunday – which was the reason for the surprise :-) After I was shown my room, I learned from her that she had only just moved her Painters' café to this pub. The room was clean (and large), shower and heating worked great and I had this special honor of getting to know the owner. I wish all the best for this little hotel which is only 250 yards from the town center.

The welcome was friendly and helpful, the building historic and the courtyard garden charming. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and seating. The food was delicious, well presented and the staff were all delightful. The location was excellent with easy walking access to the town centre, The Quay Theatre, Gainsborough House and the Water Meadow walks - plenty of interest for a short stay. Nearby street parking was convenient.

The business had only recently moved to these premises and it was clear that a great deal of effort and thought had been put into the project. There are some details that need to be addressed but they would not have prevented me from making the booking.

Staff were brilliant had to call to arrange a later check in than booked. We went to check in and then returned to the wedding. We were show how to access our room for when we returned. Very friendly and helpful. Room had bags of character beams and was so comfortable. Everything we needed to rest our dancing feet and feel refreshed in the morning. We were off early in the morning and sad we couldn't stop for a coffee because it looked like an amazing place to relax and start the day.

Great location for the theatre. Comfortable bed and lovely breakfast in the morning albeit at an additional cost.

Toilet macerator activated while using the shower. Big step down from shower - could be difficult to tackle if not so agile. There was only a bar of soap provided. Some small complimentary toiletries would have been welcome - particularly shower gel.

Such a wonderful quirky place to stay with so helpful and pleasant staff. The breakfast was also superb being amongst the locals as well.

I did not pick up on there not being evening food available but it caused us to go to a convenient and lively cafe bar, The Prada, for enjoyable food and drink - so perhaps no food at night had it's bonus.

Great location as advised by a family member. Very nice and helpful staff. Cafe was very tidy and allowed us to take our time for a coffee before leaving.

Sadly just as I was warned to mind my head (almost to the moment) I nearly knocked myself out. I'm 6'3 so if you're of a similar height be prepared to duck before you arrive, just have it in your mindset.

The room was lovely As was the heating The staff were really friendly Tracy made sure from the time we arrived we had everything we needed Breakfast was lovely Bed was comfortable, had a great fee nights sleep . Had a few days in Sudbury to watch Grafitti Classics at the Quay. Everything we needed was in place Thank you Tracy and the staff

Can't fault anything

Location was perfect as we were going to the theatre, five minutes walk away. Breakfast not included in room but you can purchase one in the café which is part of the hotel and opens at 9:ooam The bed was very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. As avid tea drinkers we were very pleased thatthey supplied Yorkshire tea bags.

The tea cups in the room were rather small but the staf did readilly give us mugs. There was a small crack in the basin in the bathroom but not enough to worry about
