We had a terrific stay as a group of friends with a small dog. The roundabout is very dog friendly. There were always happy to cook a sausage for my dog. The roundabout is very well kept and our room was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. We weee visiting Portsmouth and the Roundabout was a good location and value for money compared to staying in Portsmouth itself. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. There were plenty of places to walk the dog and the area is very nice. Parking wasn’t a problem. I would definitely stay again.

The rooms as the front get noise from the road as they face the roundabout. That is to be expected given its location.

We had a family room which was a surprise but no problem. The linen was fresh and the room very clean and bright with good lights. We had to be aware of low, sloping ceilings (room was in the roof) but this was no problem. The breakfasts were goood, continental or cooked available. The hotel had a lovely fresh, clean smell and we had free parking on the premises.

A chair would have been handy in the bedroom as the mirror was very low. The milk pots made the hot drinks taste rather unpleasant so we didn't use the tea and coffee facilities in the room. There were no hooks in the bathroom for towels/gowns. Fruit and yogurt would improve the breakfast selection, especially if a continental breakfast is preferred.

Booking was easy and there was excellent communication with our request to get rooms together. The 'Roundabout Hotel' is not exactly a 5* venue, but it is very good and you get what you pay for. We had 3 rooms and all were more than acceptable. There is reasonable parking providing guests park properly (it desperately needs lines painted) and is first come first serve. There is limited parking close by. All the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful at all times. The restaurant was more than adequate and with 5 in our party everyone had different meals, the food was truly excellent. They also offer a 'Bar Menu' with a good selection. The Full English breakfast will set you up for the day, don't skip it!

Best described by saying the entire hotel is a little 'tired' and there are several signs of it being a well used establishment, but there was evidence of some rooms being decorated/upgraded. There was a temporary issue with the water supply during our stay, but we wern't affected. We stayed Friday & Saturday nights (party time!) and ALL guests need to be reminded to respect that other guests are also staying and probably trying to sleep! No space indicators in the car park.

I cannot comment on the breakfast as I only chose coffee and toast, the room was as expected. Nice and clean, bed a nice, shower room clean. Fro the hotel being on a roundabout the room I was in I did not hear any traffic which was a pleasant surprise. The staff were friendly and very helpful, with only two people working whilst i was there they did a great job running the bar, the restaurant and changing another customers room around due to water damage caused by heavy rain.

WiFi was unrestricted so not encrypted or password protected, It was very slow when it did work, but other than that there was nothing else I did not like.

The food was excellent, staff went above and beyond, were very friendly, including a resident they have on site. It was ideally situated for where we needed to go. We took a pup with us and the staff and resident were absolutely great with her, even took her for a walk to give my daughter a break. We will return.

The stairs due to mobility issues but they quickly sorted it out, a member of staff even told me what rooms to ask for next time. And didn't like the fact I had to pay twice, due to a problem of the hotel not being able to get the first payment, I was to pay the hotel direct, which resulted in me having 2 payments on my card. The manager offered to refund their payment which I am still waiting for as still showing pending on my credit card.

Generally most things were fine, basically as expected for this price and location.

While our room was fine, the second room we booked for friends was in a different building area and had some kind of mould or sulphar smell. This seemed to originate from the rotting floorboards under the bathroom sink, but the smell spread out into the stairwell. Our friends chose not to ask for another room, I think they would have accommodated if possible, but also a room smelling like that shouldn't be rented out. It may well be a health risk and needs to be resolved.

I liked how dog friendly it was and how clean everything was.

I didn’t like that my husband and I didn’t make it down to breakfast until 10am which is when breakfast was until and was told we had missed it. My mistake as I had 10.30am in my head for some reason. There was cereal and toast made available but we were looking forward to the full English breakfast. Our little dog was disappointed too.

As always, staff are very friendly and accommodating. Monday was curry night, food was really good and reasonably priced. Great options too, not just chicken or veg curry. Room was clean and hotel well presented.

Only comments I would say here is that the place just needs a bit of modernising and a few repairs here and there. Only bad point would be the noise from the air con units all night outside the room I was in, but this is the only bad point I can say on my stay.

The breakfast was absolutely lovely and all 5 of us that stayed really enjoyed it including our 6 year old little boy. You could have cereal or toast or a full English breakfast or pick what cooked stuff you would like and that's what you would get. Tea, coffee and fresh apple, orange and tropical juice all included with breakfast aswell. All staff very welcoming and very polite and happy to help with anything we needed. Would definitely stay here again. Location was perfect for what we needed as we stayed for 2 nights for a friend's wedding just 10 minutes down the road.

Absolutely no complaints all was really good.

Close to open roads for easy access and once installed surprisingly peaceful considering the location.Helpful staff and very good food.Decent wifi although I didn't get even consider trying to access more than new sites and some email.

Can be a bit challenging to locate as it is next to a roundabout that joins another, larger roundabout. The rear car park isn't particularly large and some people were using the short road outside the building in preference.
