Not a lot really.

The whole of the restaurant really needs a good clean the floors are dirty,the windows need a good clean from the inside and out . We had to ask for things that had run out the coffee machine kept breaking down and because they were short staffed people had to wait. The apple juice dispenser kept jamming again people had to wait .there was dirty glasses and dirty crockery I had something floating in a glass after I had finally filled it with juice. I could go on it wasn’t a very pleasant experience. Would we eat there again NO .

Good location close to everything we needed, good pub attached to the property. Room is ok size wise, managed to fit in a double and 2 singles to the family room which is clean and pretty well equipped. Cleaning staff were brilliant; 1 of the kids spilt something on the floor and they were excellent in dealing with this for us.

Bathroom is a bit small considering it’s for a family but still acceptable.

It was situated very close to where we were attending. The room had everything we needed and was reasonably clean.

It is confusing when you arrive. After a long drive, we were tired, and it took me a while to realise you had to go into the pub to find the reception. The staff member barely spoke to me, I know it was 10.30pm, but there was no customer service. The room was basic for the price, and there was no lift, which was interesting with a sleepy toddler and multiple bags.

The location was very good, the food was good, and breakfast was as good as I've had in much more expensive hotels. Rooms are nothing special but clean , tidy and adequate for short stays. Excellent security to bedrooms.

The staff were really pleasant and polite. The manager accused me of not paying for my breakfast one morning Without checking first. Apparently he was very wrong in this instance but forgot to apologise for his bad judgement.

It was the first time we've used a different hotel chain to the usual premier Inn, or Travelodge etc. We were very pleasantly surprised by the room given the budget price. The room was very clean but the toilet seat loose. I was not happy that I was placed above the entrance to the hotel as I could hear the sliding doors throughout the night but given everything else was good I decided this was a small inconvenience. Location was good and the pub carvery was nice as we were there on Sunday and enjoyed the carvery which was ok. My wife is hard to please and she had a good night sleep on the mattress.

Being above entrance and hearing sliding doors every time someone came in or out of the hotel. This was 3am and 6am the times that I could hear.

They got us in last minute and was a brilliant price, we are 2 families of 4 adults and 9 children! We travelled from devon for a week in the lakes and decided to go alton towers on the final day however ended up being too tired to drive home, we were refused by several places due to being a large group but thankfully I found spread eagle. Staff were so friendly and polite couldn't do any more to help us, rooms were spotless, the air con was on and the facilities were great, super comfy bed in fact we had the best night's sleep in a very long time. The restaurant was fab, speedy, hot and delicious food also had a great park for the kids. Lots of free parking and breakfast was amazing left feeling so satisfied. I highly recommend and we will definitely return its so refreshing to find somewhere that is so good to their customers!

Nothing to dislike!

Lovely friendly staff, spotless room, comfy bed Enjoyed a meal and drinks at the pub, booked breakfast for next day at a reduced price due to staying at the lodge. The room has everything you would need for a night away and also has a night porter should you require help. Will definitely stay again, very good value, big thumbs up.

It is sited very close to busy road but having said that it didn't impact on our stay. Quickly ran out of milk, there is never enough in those little sachets but again I'm sure if we had of asked we would of been given more.

Breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold choices. You ordered the hot so it was not sitting in a buffet type system- much better. Inside the bar area where you eat we thought many of the chairs need cleaning or replacing. Lots of stains on the covers etc. Probably ready for a total refurb? Been staying here a few years now as passing through and think some parts need a bit of attention now to keep people returning?

As above chairs and tables in the bar area where you eat need either a steam clean or a change. Not looking so clean as in previous years.

I loved the hotel and the pub it's self and really big outside area with park for kids no lifts for 1st floor though but overall was very pleasant stay very clean rooms and food was very good wasn't so keen on the cavery though as wasn't enough verity of food to choose from like Toby cavery but other food on menu was outstanding!!!!

No lifts for 1st floor in hotel,the beer was quite expensive. Also could do with more options for cavery and deals on the food for family's or offers and the closest shop or any where to get any think you need is the garage at half mile away so if you don't drive make sure you have every think you need or you will be paying silly prices for basic stuff from the garage

Love this pub .. rooms are an excellent size .. heating is easy to use .. Bathroom with a bath. Food is excellent at the pub .

Being woken at 12:30 as the hairdryer in someone's bedroom had set the fire alarm off .. No one really knew if we needed to leave or stay in the bedroom. Eventually evacuated to the side door Took me ages to get back off to sleep once we were allowed back in It's a worry if it's the hotel hair dryer that set it off ...but who drys their hair past midnight,
