Out of the way, discrete, old farmhouse style chic. Nice dinner. Accepting of single traveller. Friendly owner directors. Socially intelligent wait staff and support staff. Close to auction hall and old style English village, Gatwick and SE towns. Unusual village hall style wedding banqueting and conference venue at the rear which you wouldn't know was there. Duck pond with life buoy - good for RNLI 200 year party? Decently priced for SE.

Plumbing jobs to do. Difficult for hikers as it has an infrequent bus service but local British taxi guys were great.

Easy to find and good location for our needs (visiting family in Horsham). The standard of food for dinner was very good - the main course that I had was really delicious. Breakfast the next day was also very good. Very different from the average Premier Inn. Nice to see 4 EV chargers in the spacious car park. Not sure they were mentioned in the hotel publicity. Perfect if you are staying.

The restaurant was fairly empty. We were sat at a table a bit away from the main part and felt a bit 'isolated'. Would have preferred a table a bit closer to the other diners. Swinging door to the kitchen needs it's door spring sorted out - it made too much noise when it swung closed.

The room was lovely, as was the property. Really clean and comfy. Good quality linen and blinds. Breakfast was hot, tasty and I was served quickly.

These are not bad points but it would be helpful if, there was a book or a laminated sheet, about the service of the hotel in the room i.e. reminders for breakfast time, leaving times, or useful info etc. Also at breakfast I didn't know whether to wait to be seated or just wander in, I asked a guest in the end. I didn't see a provision for tea at breakfast either - there was a machine which had coffee, chocolate and hot water - but there were no teabags or pots to use. Just a few signs to say 'help yourself' or 'please be seated' or 'ask if you would like tea' would be great to help me know what to do.

A superb stay. The hotel is full of period charm. It is spotlessly clean. The room was good sized and well appointed. We had an excellent night's sleep. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful - particularly Hannah (on the reception when we arrived). We arrived late a night after a difficult six hour drive in poor weather - having such a positive and helpful reception made a big difference. The food served in the restaurant for the evening meal was superb as was the breakfast. They clearly have an excellent team in the kitchen.

Sensitively modernised historic building. Clean comfortable rooms with excellent en-suite. Beautiful surroundings close to the attractions of West Sussex. Quiet. Ample safe parking plus charging points for electric vehicles. Good restaurant and perfectly cooked full English or continental breakfast. Pleasant bar area to return to at end of evening. Proprietor and staff very helpful and professional. Why risk the uncertainties of a rented holiday flat when you can get all the amenities of a traditional good hotel for the same cost.

No problems we could identify.

We were greeted by a wonderful friendly welcome from Richard who showed us the facilities and took us up to our room. The room as all through the hotel was immaculately clean and tidy. The room spacious and on the same time comfortable with a cozy relaxing feel. The bed was lovely and the shower was hot and had a great pressure to it. We had drinks in the bar which were very reasonable and breakfast which although a busy time came quickly and was a lovely way to end the stay. I'd definitely recommend staying at Random Hall.

There was no part of the stay to dislike.

Perfect for short stay in countryside, 20 mins from Gatwick in case you need to travel from there. Rooms beautiful furnished with taste. Cheaper or in line with a 3 or 4 star hotel, yet with the full flavour of British traditional hotel. Ultra comfy beds. Breakfast cooked to order. Quality dinner available. Free parking (unlike most hotels nowadays).

Optional dinner a little expensive for a European although in line with South England. Standard double rooms are so good that the superior is really just slightly better

Amazing hotel with incredibly nice staff and owners. We felt this was a good place from the time we booked and we were not disappointed. We will be coming to the region more often and we are glad we found a great place to stay. We highly recommend it and we will definitely be back! Very comfortable place with easy parking. The rooms are lovely, quiet and very comfortable. The whole place is beautiful and you can see they put a lot of love and work into it.

Nothing, all was perfect.

The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. We needed to arrive early because we were attending a wedding nearby and they were able to get us into our rooms. The whole place is incredibly clean and tidy, the rooms are lovely all with a nice homely feel to it.

Nothing at all. I have zero complaints!

A welcoming and comfort haven after a stressful airport experience. The owners and staff went out of their way to treat me as an individual and were very kind and helpful. I booked very last minute (within an hour of arrival) but was delighted they were able to provide plant milk as I was dying for a cup of tea. It's a beautiful old building, a bit creaky and quirky, set within a stunning little village and surrounded by flowers.

This place would be lovely for a few days peaceful stay. But it's a 30 minutes+ train ride and a £13 taxi ride/20 minute bus ride + 15 minutes walk from Gatwick so it's neither cheap nor convenient really as an airport stopover option. I was desperate and had a lovely stay but I not sure it would be my first choice again if all I wanted was somewhere to lay my head between flights. Actually, it's worth more than that anyway.
