Excellent location, nice view from the window. Cosy, friendly and clean room. Comfortable bed. When we arrived ,we had a lovely warm welcome from the host. Craig has full of knowledge about the area around Derwentwater, and we had lovely guide from him during our stay (buses, places to visit etc). Claire and Craig were extremely friendly, and attentive,we really enjoyed Craig's excellent humour. The breakfast was well prepared, I enjoyed the freshly made fruit salad every single morning. Stunning view from the window in dining room as well. Homemade flapjack on the table, just help yourself. Printed daily weather information on desk that made our daily trip to much easier. We had a pleasant stay. Highly recommend!

There's nothing We didn't like.

Dalegarth House is a beautifully peaceful place to stay. Firstly, the location itself had wonderful views of the mountains and derwentwater lake. It is a very short walk into Keswick and an even shorter drive. The gardens around the house are perfectly kept, and the house itself is stunning. The breakfast room is comfortable and inviting, and the communal lounge is a wonderful touch. The room we stayed in was wonderful, a beautifully modern room which was spotlessly clean. The beds were incredibly comfortable, which made for a great night's sleep. The hosts, Craig and Claire, were fantastic. Craig was so pleasant and funny and very knowledgeable about the local area. Claires' breakfasts were phenomenal. Everything was cooked perfectly, well presented, and generous portions. The whole stay was fantastic and we could not have asked for better.

Nothing, we loved everything.

We loved how friendly and welcoming Claire and Craig were. We'd normally stay in an apartment but we were so happy we chose to stay at this B&B instead. The breakfast was fantastic! Also, the homemade flapjacks and drinks available to guests were an excellent comforting surprise. The bed was super comfortable. The location was nice and quiet.

Our bathroom had a lovely bath but the shower head wasn't mounted which made it hard to use, especially with no shower curtain and getting the temperature right was tricky too.

We had a lake view room which had an amazing view to the village, lake and surrounding hills(even on the cloudy day). The room was very clean and spacious. Nicely refurbisbed and well equipped. The owners super friendly and welcoming (yummy homemade flapjacks at the entrance as a surprise from the owners). Great parking space and the owners were very kind letting us to leave our car while exploring Keswick surroundings. Location is great, easy access to A road, but you can’t hear any noise in the property. Keswick 20min walking distance that has plenty of places to eat and beautiful lake to walk around or engage in water sports. Scafell Pike is 20min drive.

The room got a bit too chilly at night and early morning. There were some clotches left in the wardrobe by previous customer, not sure why it was not removed while cleaning the room.

We liked everything Lovely welcome no problem with us arriving early, shown to our room which was lovely but had no bath just shower I asked if at all possible there was a room available with a bath we were given a lovely much bigger room with bath & a mountain view it was perfect. I wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful house with a beautiful garden, we didn't have breakfast as we were leaving early next morning but the welcome cake in the hallway was delicious. Thankyou for making our stay so perfect.

There was nothing at all you could possibly dislike.

Great friendly front of house who provided good directions for what we wanted to do during the day. Allowed us to check in early per our request as well. Breakfast was served fresh and hot, would highly recommend this accommodation. Only a 15 minute walk into the town centre (via a muddy path if its been raining). Flapjack on arrival was a real treat.

Overall a great stay, only real drawback was the noise which cannot be controlled by the owners. Once people start to wake up in the morning you can hear them talking and moving around. This wouldn't stop us from returning though.

A Lovely place! The hosts very friendly, and the room is better than the pictures! And I have to say that the breakfast really excellent, you can get a lot of choices! In general, this location is excellent, about 20~30 minute from town center by walk and the view is good. But if you plan to walk to the hotel, it's better to arrive before dark because there is a 10-minute path on the way to the hotel that is very dark without any lights.

The only drawback is that the water pressure in the shower is not strong enough.

The best guest house experience we have ever had. If I could give 6 stars out of 5 I would. Craig and Claire are fabulous hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Really great welcome during which Claire explained where everything was and provide a really helpful printout on Latrigg fell, which we raced up (not) whilst in Keswick. Great views of Derwentwater from the summit of this accessible Wainwright. Craig was front of house at breakfast and was a brilliant host. Chatty, helpful and a great sense of humour. The breakfasts were also top notch. Good selection of cereals, toast etc. Claire does a mean poached egg, and a fab porridge!.The room we stayed in was immaculate and really spacious (a double and one single.) Nice sofa in room with a huge TV if you need one. Overall, just can't fault the place. Would stay again without a second thought..

My husband and I arrived a little bit earlier than the time we could book in but that was wasn’t a problem for the hostess Claire who said it was okay and made us feel very welcome.

The only thing I wasn’t so keen on was that there wasn’t a socket on my side of the bed for my phone alarm, would I take a longer extension next time? Yes I would as it paled into insignificance compared to the rest of our stay.

An absolute little gem of a place!! Well where to start.. when I say this is an absolute little gem I really mean it, and that is all down to Clare and Craig who run the place to absolute perfection! They really put everything into making sure that their guests are well looked after and that nothing is too much trouble. Firstly, ahead of arrival, you get a link to a web page (the guidebook) with all the information on that you could possibly need during your stay; from check in and out procedures, to local information on eating out, car parking, walking, shopping, activities, to everything and anything else in-between! I loved this! The area is beautiful, with gorgeous views from the house and the village is so peaceful. Just far enough away from Keswick but close enough to get to easily and enjoy the town. We really love Keswick anyway, and Derwentwater too, so the location is just perfect for us! On arrival we were met by Craig who directed us to our parking spot and offered us help with our bags if it was needed. We then headed around to the house and met Clare, whom showed us around. There's a lovely lounge area to relax in, and a bar where you can get a drink on an evening if you wish to. There is tea and coffee in each room with UHT milks, but what I loved was that fresh milk is available as needed too - you just take a little jug to your room from the milk in the fridge! There's also other drinks like hot chocolate, fruit teas, decaf drinks here to help yourself to. The room was lovely and really clean, with comfortable beds too. Smart TV in the room and free WIFI access were a bonus, although we didn't waste much time with technology! If you want any advice or tips on where to go or what to do, don't hesitate to ask Craig - he's full of information and more than happy to help! Clare's cooking skills are amazing too! Her flapjack is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts - set us up well for our days out!

There wasn't anything that we didn't like... Maybe the shower pressure....but that didn't bother us anyway!
