Skiddaw was as we expected. Fortunate enough to park in hotel car park. Met by a very friendly concierge/check in clerk. Room was even better than expected due to what seemed recent bathroom renovation. We had a wander around the "locals" in Moot square so unfortunately didn't use your excellent conservatory bar. Sadly woken up by the council wagon in what seemed to be the middle of the night, dropping off market equipment. BUT this is NOT the hotels fault. Superb breakfast put us in a very happy mood. Evening meal was perfect, food, wine & lovely, hard working staff & to be fair, not over priced. Check out was simple. Thank you

We have stayed at the Skiddaw hotel a few times over the past 20+ years, so it was interesting to still see many of the same staff from all those years ago. Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, we enjoyed the breakfasts and found the bar very comfortable for evening drinks. we didn't eat at the hotel as there is an abundance of decent eating houses in Keswick.

One of my usual hang ups with hotels is paying for parking which applies here, and although no-one's fault, the fire alarm went off just after midnight and -5 degrees, so we all stood outside while the sole night person struggled to turn the alarm off (it was a false alarm) and had to knock up another member of staff at a sister hotel across the road to help.

Great location right in the centre of Keswick so everything was so handy to walk to. Really friendly staff. Rooms were small but clean and fresh. Breakfast was very tasty. The whole hotel was decorated to a lovely standard so it felt super luxurious, enabling us to relax straight away and enjoy a really wonderful break in Keswick. Car park straight outside the back and they even gave me a permit at a cheaper rate for our stay which was nice.

On there breakfast menu it said farmhouse toast and lots of other nice things. In fact I sore them just using bags of normal hovis which was dissapointing for such an expensive breakfast, makes you wonder where the rest comes from. Room is pretty expensive for what it was but hey it's the lakes. The air con fan outside our room kept kicking on and off and was pretty noisy in the night which was a shame. I would of expected for £190 a night for them to replennish bottles of water in the room after we drank them but this didn't happen.

The location of the hotel is great for being able to walk around Keswick. We had a large twin room and it was a comfortable space. It was a long walk from the lift and had 2 sets of stairs to reach it. The dinner was of good quality but it was priced on the higher side so more for a special meal. Had we stayed for 2 nights we wouldn't have eaten in the hotel both evenings. The restaurant was busy but the service was still good. The breakfast was good but some of the buffet items were missing and were slow to be restocked.

The long corridor and accessibility to the room with cases wasn't easy.

Great location, great breakfast, easy parking, clean, comfortable, lovely bar and conservatory, lovely room

Only negative is the room opposite had their dog with them and at 7.30am they went out, leaving their dog in the room which cried and yelped for nearly an hour, after half an hour I tried to ring reception to inform them but the phone in the room wasn’t working. This wasn’t fair on the surrounding rooms at this time in the morning, personally I think in dog friendly hotels, dogs should bout be left in the room on their own for this reason

I found the booking through booking .com one a surprise as I didn’t realise that when filling in the details which It was for booking .com. Some of the details were wrongly transferred to the hotel and delayed so one of the rooms I had chosen was no longer available and the child age wrong Fortunately the hotel contacted us and I was able to discuss and rectify the problem with them direct We all enjoyed our stay at the hotel given a good service from friendly and helpful information The hotel is in the centre of Keswick and would have been noisy in the evenings if the windows were not so well sound proof . As with many hotels we found the bedrooms very warm but everyone has different opinions as how warm they like there rooms through the night and I appreciate there has to be an average to please everyone

Direct booking instead of going through booking dot Comice found that when asking for any hotel booking .co. Seems to jump in at the top of the list instead of the hotel you are searching

All the food was exceptional. The breakfast was amazing , could not finish it. The location was bang in the middle of Keswick square, couldn't have been better. We had a room over looking the main square on the first floor. Amazing room.

Cannot fault the hotel at all. The only negative is the price of the drinks, it was very expensive. Nearly £10 for a red wine and a vodka lemonade. To be fair it was the same in all the pubs and bars but this hotel was just that bit more.

Location and breakfast superb. Quality products used and cooked well. Hotel really clean throughout and updating in public spaces clear to see and looked lovey

Room incredibly small. A smaller bed would have given more space as difficult to move around. Location above function room was noted and I would have been upset if it had been in use during my stay. Thankfully it was not. I appreciate that rooms on your site are discounted due to less than favourable aspects to them, but feel for the room size the price should have been lower.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location. Daytime and evening menus were good food very nice. Best thing about the hotel is its staff, they are excellent.

We had to swap rooms it was a mix up they put right brilliantly, however the first room which was above and beyond our original booking the bed was too high for me to get onto, I'm disabled and it was extreamly difficult to get into bed. No ones fault.

Excellent, central location in the middle of the pedestrian zone. The reception staff was friendly, helpful and explained everything in detail, including how to get to the car park. The bedroom was clean with plenty of bedding and towels. The breakfast had lots of choices on the buffet as well as from the card and the service was friendly and fast. We travelled with two dogs and the hotel provided a dog bed and dog bowls at no extra cost. The hotel provided hotel room door tags that included one stating that a dog was inside the room. We thought that was a brilliant idea and used it when we went for breakfast without the dogs (otherwise they were always with us).

As we travelled with our two dogs, we found the bedroom had too many (unnecessary) decoration pillows (4 on the bed and one in each of the two chairs) that we quickly put away in the hopes they would stay clean and fur free. Again, specifically to dog ownership, we think a carpet free room would be a real bonus to help keep everything even cleaner.
