This is the second time I have stayed here. The hotel is basic but well located being right on the promenade and near to main bus stops and within walking distance of the railway station. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. I am assuming this is a family run hotel. You can get hot porridge and a variety of cooked eggs as part of the breakfast as well as fruit juice, a range of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, bread, toast and preserves. I will stay again.

I was in room 302 on the top floor. I could not get the heating to work. Also be aware that there is no lift. The communal areas could do with a clean up and paint job. Some of the carpets on the staircase are quite worn.

The staff were very friendly, especially the receptionist when we arrived. The room was lovely and clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean. The sea view was beautiful, I loved the size of the windows and the ease of opening them. The hotel was very warm. I found the staff to be very polite, friendly and helpful.

I was a bit disappointed in the breakfast, went down to expect the choice of a full English, but only had the choice of continental and eggs on toast, but something was better than nothing. I presume they was having kitchen reservations. The halls and landings could do with a clean and luck of paint, but the room was much better. The lock on the bathroom didn’t work and the tile in there was cracked, but neither affected our stay.

I was anxious about our stay in Elsinore Hotel after I had read the 1 star reviews... We stated 2 nights in room 104. The room was clean, the bathroom too. There were a kettle, coffee & tea, hairdryer and a TV. Everything was working in the room. The reception staff was very kind. The breakfast was coffee or tea, eggs, and toast as it is advertised. There were a choice of cereals, fruits, and yoghurt. I was confused why people wrote 1 star reviews about this hotel. Ok, the carpet on the stairs are very old, needs to change, but I think the hotel staff is doing their best to make this 2-star hotel a better place.

The bed was not as comfortable as I usually like it.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely excellent, providing easy access to key attractions and amenities, which made getting around very convenient. For the price, it offers exceptional value for money, with comfortable accommodations at an affordable rate. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget-friendly option without compromising on location or comfort.

Unfortunately, there were a few issues with cleanliness during our stay. We noticed small holes in both the bedsheet and the duvet, which was disappointing. More concerning, we found a tiny piece of glass on the floor, which ended up striking my foot. Thankfully, it didn’t cause serious harm, but it could have been worse. I strongly recommend that the staff take more care in thoroughly cleaning the rooms and ensuring that the bedding is inspected for any damage before guests arrive. Attention to these details would significantly improve the overall guest experience.

There have been several very poor reviews for this hotel so we were a little apprehensive before we got there but he room was very clean and warm. The bathroom was good to. The TV had more channels that normally available in hotels. We did manage to get wifi in our room despite the web indicating it was only available in public areas of the hotel. Breakfast room was also clean and well presented. The breakfast itself was also acceptable Staff very friendly. I think for the money paid it was more than acceptable. It is after all at the budget end of hotels. We would have no problems staying there again.

The Reception / stairs could do with some refurbishment

Great location. Lovely staff. Breakfast buffet included and plenty of choice. Room was comfy and had everything we needed.

Can't really think of anything that we didn't like. Could have done with a slightly longer bath in the room and maybe a faster toaster on the breakfast buffet.......

Having already read the reviews we knew it wasn't the best. But for the price, location and the fact that we would only use the Hotel for sleeping we booked it any way. I have to say we were quite happy with our choice. We stayed in the first floor seaview rooms. There is no elevator. The Elsinor is very dated and tired. It does need completely modernising. But, it was clean, the staff were very pleasant and extremely attentive. The beds and pillows definitely need an upgrade but we were comfortable enough. There were Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room. The towels were changed each day and the room cleaned. The bathroom had a small bath with a shower which was quite difficult and dangerous to get into as it had nothing to hold onto. I feel it would have been better as a shower unit.. The sink vanity unit was too big and left insufficient room to use the toilet without having to sit sideways. But they were clean and the water was hot. There was also a good choice of hot or cold breakfast served everyday included in the price.

There was nothing I really didn't like. Just upgrades I think would serve the Hotel better.

We was very pleasantly surprised after reading other reviews. However the room was spotlessly clean, decorated to a modern high standard with everything you would need readily available in the room, tea coffee making facilities, hair dryer, shampoo body wash. Stunning bathroom. The member of staff on check in was speedy and very efficient. Overall a very pleasant stay

We couldn't find fault the public areas leading to the bedrooms look like they needed a bit of tlc but you could clearly see that they are in the progress of transforming this hotel to a high standard

The room and the view were ideal .Sat watching as the sun went down and all the lights came on .Got some snacks and sat at the window watching the world go by Fabulous .When we arrived at the room .I opened the window and a seagull just came and nestled there on the ledge .Was no problem .. The bed was incredibly comfy .Great nights sleep .The breakfast was good .The staff were pleasant .They had a couple of awkward guests but dealt with the situation very professionally. . Will deffo stay again and try for the same room .

We've stayed in more than one 3-star seafront hotel in Llandudno as we visit often to see family, and on this occasion, there being no special offers on elsewhere, we thought we'd give the Elsinore, a 2-star hotel, a try. Not expecting much, particularly after one recent comment, we arrived, and were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself is on the seafront, a short walk from the town centre and pier. Our room was large, clean and comfortable with a nice bathroom and a sea view. The staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive, and the 'continental' breakfast was good, plentiful and more than we expected, particularly for the price. The general decorations are fair although some of the carpets look tired in places, but it's an old building, and at least as well-maintained as some of the 3-star hotels we've stayed in nearby.

There's no bar, lift, or food except for breakfast, and a house rule banning hot food from the rooms so no option but to eat out in the evenings. But to set against that, there are lots of cafes, bars and restaurants (and a Wetherspoons!) within easy walking distance (for us, and we're in our 70s).
