breakfast faboulous staff wonderfull ,room beautifull . location stunning went on a hike from the pub carpark .10 min walk from train station if you come in from maidstone west or return direct to victoria station . Read a book on the history of the pub and village which is realy nice .

Pub in need of a tidy up and a good painting and fix the crack in resturant ceiling , then a good clean . you dont need plastic flowers use real plants . shame i was in yard as a bit noisey but room beautifull . please bake the GF fish and make your own chips as the batter is horrid and there was no fish inside , GF frozen chips are horrible . please put a bigger door mat inside as dirty boots on the new carpet , i left mine outside after walking . Food menu for evening was ok but over priced as were the drinks but it is the south i suppose .

The bedroom was a decent size with a very comfy bed, and there was a bath and shower in the bathroom which was nice. Good selection of teas and coffees in the room and a desk which was useful as I was on a business trip. Bottled water which was replenished during my stay was also a nice touch. Good choice on the menu but on the expensive side. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I didn't use free wifi because of security issues with networks that aren't password protected and unfortunately the mobile signal wasn't great. Service at breakfast was a bit inconsistent, Monday morning seemed a bit chaotic and not offered juice or water like the next morning, but otherwise all good.

Beautiful very old building behind a newer frontage with many original features; beams, fireplaces, low ceilings and uneven floors add to the charm. Lovely rooms, Nanette’s rosé bedroom was stunning and spacious. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast

Only 1 point off 10/10 as we weren’t expecting the outside wooden stairs up to the bedrooms but was not a problem as it was dry. Abit of noise from the bar below but all quiet after 11pm and added to the stay in an old country inn. The noisy ’saniflo’ plumbing was a bit of a shock initially but soon got used to it

Great hotel, very friendly staff. Dog friendly. Great breakfast and dinner. In less than 45 minutes away form the train tunnel. Old windmill, more than 400 years old, much character.

Our room was at the back of the hotel, partly above the kitchen. Opposite our room was a big ventilator causing a lot of noise during the night. New houses are constructed at the back of the hotel, but no nuisance form this at all. Parking at the back could sometimes a bit challenging.

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice, comfortable, good sized room. Quirky building with well thought out amenities. All very clean. Was a little concerned when we found packets of ear plugs on the bedside tables! Village traffic noisy during the day but all very quiet at night. Had drinks in the bar which was very relaxing so decided to eat in the dining area. Both enjoyed our meals.

As the weather was nice we decided to sit in the garden. Although there is a small 'smoking area' nearby it wasn't used. All 6 smokers sat in the garden. As neither of us have ever smoked & hate being around smoking we decided to sit inside.

Lovely boutique hotel. Modern, quaint and comfortable. The staff were all amazing, really helpful and accommodating of my needs and requests, even remembering my evening drinks order which made me feel very valued and welcomed.

Wi-Fi was great if you only had one device connected. If more than this then connection was affected, and it took me a couple of nights to figure this out! Maybe a little notice letting guests know would be useful. I had a laptop, phone and iPad that I had connected, and although I didn't use all these devices at the same time they automatically connected and demised the connection I had on the device I would be using. Problem was solved when I removed the auto connection function. I joined a lot of online work meetings during the afternoon / evenings so until I figured this issue out, it did cause disruption. Breakfast is only served from 08:00 which wasn't ideal for my working hours and commitments, so I only managed one morning out of 4 which was a shame.

Pretty village location very close to Leeds Castle, Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Food was great and rooms were exceptionally clean. Rooms were nicely decorated and a good size. It is worth remembering that this is an old building so you will hear noise from the bar area if you have rooms above. Plumbing is very good powerful shower but again can be noisy. Don't let this put you off as it really is an excellent find...just bring earplugs if you are sensitive to a bit of noise.

Breakfast was superb. The location is a little tricky; useful if you want to explore nearby attractions such as Leeds castle, but there isn’t anything easy to walk to if you wanted a stroll through and look in some shops/other eateries.

The room as are amazing lots of lovely character. The bathrooms are super noisy because of old plumbing so fine if you and your roommate are sound sleepers/don’t mind a lot of noise. I was happy to take the trade because the room was beautiful.
