The position of the hotel is perfect to just walk around Manchester, take a train to visit other cities and feel like a local. The room was comfortable and very well insulated from the noise that could be happening outside. Maybe some furnitures of the bathroom are a bit old or partially damaged but nothing that stops you from enjoying a good shower or using a very clean toilet :) I am extremely satisfied with my choice and I would like to remark in a special way how lovely and kind was the receptionist from Barcelona!!! She helped me a lot with recommending me places to eat, to visit and how to organize my days in Manchester. I would definetely book again there if I come back,

Some parts of the bathroom were a bit damaged or old so they looked ''dirty'' but they were not

Modern designed large room with adequate sun exposure, rooms are cleaned daily, staff is nice, there's an ironing room, bar/restaurant in the lobby

My planned dates of travel had been changed and I had to arrive a day later. I tried to contact customer service about this issue and they said that I had to arrive on the check-in date, or manually change the dates (I wasn't able to without paying a significant amount) even though I had already paid for my stay. It was resolved in the end thanks to the help of the staff, but I wish they had a faster customer service or a better online website.

Comfy clean rooms, exactly as you'd expect. Perfect for a city centre stay for business. Lots of restaurants and bars locally on the same street, and we liked that the hotel bar was open 24/7.

The bathrooms feel a bit flimsy and strange. The staff didn't really seem to know what was going on (maybe in training?). There was also an event happening in the hotel bar that evening and instead of private hiring part of it, the hotel had allowed the whole thing to be hired. So we were asked to leave the lobby while we were having drinks, which was strange.

The location near the tram stops either St Peters Square or a short walk to Piccadilly gardens.Lovely eating places and bars near by. The hotel had a studio feel about it the security of guests apppears to be paramount you need a key card to progress into the hotel. The rooms are clean and well thought out,love the bathroom.. Even has a proper hairdryer! We ate in the bar area and people watched as the nig windows all face the main street..All food is reasonably priced and you get a lot..There are specials on like a large pizza and two bottles of beer £20...We were going to a concert so just found the whole stay a pleasure.The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble..

The breakfast was fantastic. Huge choice. Everything well stocked & quickly replenished. Lovely space to eat in & brilliant breakfast times. I also really appreciated the noon checkout ... this makes a huge difference to the last day of a break still actually feel like a break instead of a massive rush to be up & out by 10am like some other places.

The 'skip the clean' signs could be worded better... I don't need sheets & towels changed daily, but I would like the room cleaned! The current wording implies that the room won't be attended to at all. And it's the same on both sides even tho one side red & one side green. I found this confusing & unhelpful.

Large clean rooms with good sound-isolating windows and air conditioning. Good bathroom, storage space, tea facilities. Convenient central location at the end of Chinatown. Easy walking distance of two train stations and the old city centre.

There is a perfectly good staircase that is wide and well lit and in good condition BUT it's locked except for emergency use in a fire. This means that you have to wait ages for the one working lift/elevator (one was out of order). If you're on the top floor and leave at a busy time, by the time the lift gets to you, it's full and you really have to wait some time to get down. Why can't guests use the staircase?

I was visiting Manchester for a conference and chose the Ibis for a two night stay. Excellent location as it was close to the train station and the conference venue, along with local bus and tram stops, pubs, restaurants and bars. I've stayed at loads of Ibis hotels over the years and on both nights here I truly had the best night sleeps ever! Lovely comfy bed, blackout curtains and the room was well laid out. I liked being able to adjust the room temperature as well, a must in the UK! Powerful shower and although I liked the free shower gel/ hair shampoo and conditioner, one of the dispenser pumps was facing the wrong way which made it virtually impossible dispense! Luckily I'd brought my own with me but it was a nice idea. Wonderful staff at check-in and the bar, I was very grateful for my daily coffee and pain au chocolat to take away each morning! I definitely recommend this hotel!

Excellent location for my requirements. Minutes away from China town or coach station, about 15 mins walk from Piccadilly train station, less than that for city centre. Despite being on a busy street, there was no problem with street noise. Staff were lovely. Bed was comfy, towels soft, room clean. Excellent price. Used the ironing facilities too which is in a little room on the 3rd floor, which was pefectly satisfactory. Loved how late the check out was, think I'm used to early airbnb check out times!

Bathroom doesn't seem to have an extractor fan so steam does go into the bedroom and then causes condensation on the window which dripped on the carpet when I opened the window. To be honest, I'm still really happy with the room. Perfect for my needs. Would have liked a couple more teabags, but I'm a massive tea drinker and forgot to bring my own!

Everything you want to see in Manchester is within walking distance. I haven't had good experiences with hotels in the UK and this one was probably the best when it comes to cleanliness and facilities.The staff at the reception were really nice.

I didn't like that the ground floor is some sort of pub. It has this very distinct pub smell, which gives a horrible first impression. It might be common in England, but it's weird for foreigners. Although the location is great, I would not stay here on a weekend. There's a bar right in front of the hotel and you can hear the music and the drunks shouting as they walk up and down the street.

Great location, friendly staff, clean room and bedding. The night staff and security officer certainly had their work cut out after 1am. It’s probably just another day’s work for them, given the central location and proximity to Piccadilly Gardens. It was good to have the security of the key card to get in and out of the hotel and to use the lift. This made us feel very safe and if I had been staying there as a single woman, I would have been reassured by these measures.

There was an awful smell of blocked drains in our bathroom even though it was really clean. We flushed the toilet immediately on arrival and the smell went, only to come back about 10 minutes later! It wasn’t a huge deal for us as we were out of the room most of the night but it really stank again when we returned. This was room 218 so you can check this out. Also, and again, not a major issue, but the pillows were both lumpy and uncomfortable which we have not experienced before at any Ibis in the UK.
