As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed with amazing staff behind the desk. They were polite , very nice and gave us complimentary glasses of Prosecco . We were upgraded and our room was beautiful. I honestly feel so very thankful to them ,because you made our trip the most amazing it could be. Me and my friend needed laughter and time to just get away from our usual life . Right on the doorstep of the Christmas markets and even the shopping mall. Beautiful hotel, the rooms are absolutely stunning and we had robes and slippers in the wardrobe. We went up to the rooftop Terrace bar and even the staff in there were just outstanding and made you feel very comfortable and at ease. We ordered room service and the gentleman that bought it was lovely and the food was outstanding. can’t wait to come back . Thank you so much🥰

We loved absolutely everything , just the cushions were a little bit too soft. I think they were feather down and I am terrible with allergies but I had a strong antihistamine before we went to the markets so I was fine. I found uncomfortable but my friend is used to a much firmer cushion . That’s the only thing, but it wasn’t enough to upset us because we had an amazing night and we’re were on a high.

really liked this hotel - my usual place is the edwardian round the corner but i had booked the daughter in here for a Ball she was going to nearby and then me and my wife ended up with another room and had a night out. This is likely my new favourite hotel in Manchester. Really clean and fabulous modern, spacious rooms with nice clean and well functioning bathrooms. Check-in staff were attentive and helpful - bar staff just the same - lovely team. it was even a reasonably priced bar! - really enjoyed our stay and will return.

not much to dislike to be honest! Really picking on points here - but the dimming light switches seemed to have a mind of their own and the heating controls for (i think) room, bathroom floor and bathroom towel rail (all separate controls, i think..) had to be the most confusing thing - maybe i'm just getting old.

My husband and myself loved this hotel, this was the first time we had stayed and everything was amazing especially the meals we ordered from the bar and grill. We booked through booking.com to visit before Christmas but both of us were sick along with our kids, booking.com were no help and we were going to lose our mi yea of nearly £400 however I called the hotel asking if we could change the dates and a wonderful lady called Shannon was an amazing help and she allowed us to change the dates. Even though the room was £230 cheaper as it was then January it meant we could speak the money saved in the hotel at the bar and in their restaurant. The location was perfect for us and the room was really comfortable, cannot recommend this hotel enough.

The bed was incredibly comfortable. We had plans in Manchester but said we could have stayed and had a night in, instead. We also liked the 11am checkout time, which meant we were able to have a leisurely morning getting ready. Manchester isn't THAT big but we still felt as though we were situated amongst everything that we needed and we're no more than a 10 minute walk away from places. We didn't use it this time, but the option to rent a film looked really appealing as the TV was great, and the selections were too. We will definitely stay again!

Minor things, but the room felt a bit dusty and we weren't sure if the 'shade' above the bed seemed to be attracting it as you could see the dust in the ceiling spotlights.

Restaurant, location, comfort

Staff were super accommodating and nice at reception until we checked out as we asked for a late check out and when we came down the man at reception made a sarcastic comment as to why we checked out late, even though I was charged £30 for check out. He made a snide comment and it wasn’t appreciated so it really ruined the stay for me. Although we had to wait over an hour at 3pm for check in they still charged extra for late check out. Also we said “goodbye” as we left the hotel and the guy again at reception just ignored us and never acknowledged. I work in hospitality and he certainly should not. Everyone else was a delight and helpful.

Location was great, we could walk everywhere. The breakfast was really good and set us up for the day. Staff very helpful. It was not overly busy which suited us.

Very odd that we could not open half of the wardrobe due to the location of it and the bedside table. Also the table and 2 chairs were cramped in the corner. Room 505. I think if the unit under the TV was smaller and the wardrobe moved next to it this may help. Decor was really nice just useful design lacking. Bathroom similar could not easily reach the toilet roll.

First time visitor at a Malmaison hotel and I was very impressed, we had a slight issue with a strange smell in our room and I went to reception to ask if it was possible to switch rooms or have house keeping come up and see if they could sort it (it was a Saturday,2nd Nov, so I wasn’t expecting much to be available) and the girl on reception could not have been more helpful. I think her name was Rebecca, (on shift at 5pm on Saturday, very pretty young lass) she apologised and sorted it straight away, she upgraded our room to a suite which was above and beyond what we were expecting. The hotel it’s self is in a great area easy walking distance to everything, rooms were comfortable and clean, the breakfast was very tasty.

The staff are all very friendly (especially one young chap up in Sora who went out of his way to explain the menu etc when we popped up for a nosey on check-in). If you stay longer than one night, you can opt for eco cleaning of your room and receive drinks vouchers for the bar (valid in both). Breakfast was extremely good, delicious and well presented. The hotel is in a fantastic location. There are two free bus services in Manchester (number 1 & 2). We took the 2 from Piccadilly station to Deansgate (3 stops) and then it was a quick walk to the hotel. In the other direction, a few minutes walk will get you to St Peter's Square with all the tram stops. We took the tram to Media City for the Lowry Theatre and Imperial War Museum. We also took a tram back to the airport on our last day. I can also recommend a walking tour (Rock n Goal) which gives a great insight into Manchester.

The only thing that let the rooms down for me was the lighting. It is really difficult to see properly in the mirrors in the bedroom (for example when drying your hair). It would also be good to have some hooks to hang wet jackets on (maybe near the door).

Love the whole asthetic of this hotel. Very retro and a little dark and moody. The room we had was large and we had windows on both sides which was nice.Love the dressing gowns, nice touch. The shower room was a good size and nicely finished. Loved the murial of the parrot. Check in was a breeze and, the irish lady on reception, and Gabrielle who worked in the bar were so warm and welcoming. He made us some lovely cocktails.

Was dissapointed that the rooftop bar/ restaurant was not open as this was the reason we booked it over another hotel. Also its the first time in a hotel where there was no free movie channel. Every channel was sky news and sky sports. The movies you had to pay for, so that was a little dissapointing as there was nothing to watch. I would still stay again, and hopefully get the chance to visit the rooftop bar next time.

The room was amazing. Great view. Night manager and waitress on the rooftop bar was amazing. Made our stay a bit better. Rooftop bar was a must see

Manager at check in said our room wasnt ready at 3pm so told us to wait at the bar. He then proceeded to serve 7 more couples and they all went to their room. 20 minutes we then decided to join the queue again where he left us waiting a further 5 minutes whilst he dealt with paperwork. I understand that this is necessary but we arrived just before 3pm and felt like because we weren't the normal clientele, we didnt deserve that service. Wasnt good first impressions. The lifts were very confusing. We were at the rooftop bar and called a lift. We pressed 6 for our floor and then got whisked down to the bottom floor to be told that that particular lift doesnt go to room floors. It would have been better if it just had the appropriate buttons or a sign in the lift.
